On Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke at an event honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The United States Postal Service unveiled a new set of stamps honoring de la Renta and his work. Speaking at Grand Central Terminal, Clinton spoke about her friendship with de la Renta and his wife and praised his contribution to the world of fashion. She said, “Oscar de la Renta was an immigrant. And aren’t we proud and grateful that he was?” Others attending the event included Diane von Furstenberg, Valentino Garavani, Anna Wintour, and Michael Bloomberg. On Monday, the Electoral College voted across the country for president. While many supporters of Hillary Clinton hoped the electors would defect, they confirmed the win for Donald Trump. In New York, one of the electors was Bill Clinton. He cast the first vote in the state for his wife. Following the vote, he said, “You know, I watched her work for two years, I watched her battle through that bogus email deal. On the eve of the election, Vice President Joe Biden returned to Florida where he spoke on the campus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee. After being introduced by his wife, Jill, Biden spoke about the importance of voting before the end of the day tomorrow. He urged everyone to consider the future the country and the visions being outlined by Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Biden said that Clinton offers a platform that is far more optimistic and inclusive. He said that her plans are geared toward helping everyone and not just those at the top. Biden urged everyone to reject the divisive policies of Trump and vote for Clinton tomorrow. A video from the event is below.
Biden held his last solo campaign event for Clinton in St. Petersburg. During the event, Biden spoke about the vision Trump has for America and asked the audience to imagine living in that future. “We don’t have to make anything up; we just have to say what they want to push,” he said adding that it is doubtful that a Trump administration would continue Pell grants for college, repealing the Affordable Care Act would leave at least 20 million Americans without coverage, and his economic plans would ensure that those at the top prosper at the expense of the middle class. On Friday, Jay-Z performed at a Get Out the Vote concert in Cleveland, Ohio on behalf of Hillary Clinton. During the concert, he was joined on stage by his wife, Beyoncé, and Clinton. Beyoncé spoke about the importance of the election and said that she wants her daughter to have a role model in the White House. “We have to think about the future of our daughters, of our sons, and vote for someone who cares for them as much as we do. And that is why, ‘I’m with her.'” Jay-Z introduced Clinton and spoke about the progress made in the country and criticized Donald Trump for his divisive tone. Tim Kaine returned to Florida on Friday where he spoke on the campus of the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. Kaine stressed the importance of the election and encouraged everyone to get out and vote next Tuesday. He said that the race is close and that “we can’t take anything for granted.” During his speech, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary Clinton’s key platform points including her plan to make college more affordable, raise the minimum wage, and pass comprehensive immigration reform. He also attacked Donald Trump for his divisive campaign saying that America is truly stronger together. A video from the event will be added when/if available.
Meanwhile, Kaine’s wife, Anne Holton, spoke to a group of supporters in Salt Lake City, Utah. Holton spoke about Clinton’s plans to raise the minimum wage, ensure that woman receive equal pay, and expand early childhood education. She said that none of that will be possible unless everyone gets out to vote on Tuesday. Holton addressed the historic nature of electing the first woman president saying, “And we will all own a piece of it, and won’t it be fun to have Utah own a piece of it?” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

On Thursday, Tim Kaine campaigned in Arizona as he spoke at two events. His first stop was in Phoenix where he spoke to members of the Hispanic community. Giving his speech entirely in Spanish, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plan for comprehensive immigration reform and her dedication to families. He also spoke about the dangers of Donald Trump and blasted his anti-immigrant rhetoric saying that diversity is what makes America the great country it is. He said, “With so much at stake for the Hispanic community, it’s important that our campaign use the language that so many families around the country use.” A video of Kaine’s speech (dubbed in English) is below.
Kaine’s final event of the day was a Get Out the Vote rally in Tucson. During his speech, Kaine spoke about the importance of Arizona to Clinton. He said that recent polls indicate that she and Kaine could defeat Trump in the state. He focused on key points of Clinton’s platform including immigration reform and creating jobs. He said that she will fight for everyone adding, “She would not give up, back down, go away, or sell her principles short.” He concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote for Clinton on election day. “This election is less about where we going but who we are as a nation. Are we going to say it’s it OK to divide up against each other and insult each other? No, I embrace we are stronger together,” Kaine said. A video from the event will be added when/if available.
Anne Holton was on the campaign trail on Thursday and spoke at events in Toledo, Ohio and Reno, Nevada. On Tuesday, Hillary for America released a series of ads targeting Donald Trump a week before the election on November 8th. The first three ads feature Republicans and one former Trump supporter who have vowed to support Hillary Clinton in light of Trump’s comments about women. The final video highlights a number of comment Trump has made about women over the decades. Next is a video titled “27 million Strong” about how the Latino immigrants in the United States can send Trump a message on election day. The ad is being released in both English and Spanish. Then, the Briefing has a video called “The Trump Effect” which looks at how Trump’s divisive statements affect Americans. Then, an ad that encourages African American voters to get out and reject Trump’s divisive platform. Next is an ad titled “We are America” and outlines the dangers a Trump presidency would present to the American democracy. Then, the next video features Katy Perry’s song Roar and outlines a number of reasons to vote for Clinton. The next video imagines what life in America will be like after a year of a Trump presidency. The final ad is a radio ad talking about Trump’s history of demeaning African Americans. Tim Kaine campaigned in Wisconsin on Tuesday where he focused on the sharp contrast between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. At his first event in Appleton, Kaine spoke about the optimistic and inclusive platform assembled by Clinton, then compared it to the divisive plans proposed by Trump. Kaine also spoke about the two candidates’ different background. He spoke about Clinton’s passion for children and families and how she has fought for both during her long career. Meanwhile, Trump has been more focused on himself. Kaine concluded the event by speaking about the importance of Wisconsin to Clinton and himself and he urged everyone to take advantage of early voting or to head to the ballot box on November 8th. Kaine then speak at a rally in Madison. He spoke about the importance of Wisconsin in the election saying that they are one of the key battleground states. Kaine spoke about Clinton’s platform and her support of a progressive agenda. He said, “You have a proud progressive tradition that goes back a long, long time.” He continued, “I’m excited to have somebody in the Oval Office bringing 40 years of passionate battling for families and kids. Donald Trump does have a passion, it’s just Donald J. Trump.” Kaine urged everyone to vote on November 8th because every vote is important in a close election. On Monday, Tim Kaine campaigned in North Carolina where he began the day at an event in Jacksonville. During his speech, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary Clinton’s key platform points including her plans to create jobs and continue the economic growth started by the administration of President Barack Obama. He said that the goal is to build an economy that works for everyone, and not just those at the top. Kaine also spoke about Donald Trump and attacked Trump for his disrespect for the military. As the father of a Marine, Kaine said, “We need someone who has known about (the military) in the past and know what we look for in the future, even know what the military stands for other than fighting.” Kaine wrapped up the event by asking everyone to vote and to take advantage of the state’s early voting adding, “You are not the kind of people to stand by. We’re going to go out on November 8 and make history and do something that’s never been done.” A video from the event is below.
In Sanford, Kaine continued to focus on the economy and Clinton’s plans to create jobs by investing in infrastructure, manufacturing, clean energy, education and training, and helping small businesses. Kaine urged everyone to not become complacent by current polls indicating that the gap that favored Clinton in the polls is closing, something he said they knew would happen. “I’m the underdog until they call me the winner,” he said asking everyone to vote on November 8th or to take advantage of early voting. Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Ohio today with his first event being in Cleveland. He spoke about a variety of Hillary’s platform plans including her proposals to boost manufacturing, invest in infrastructure improvements, and make college more affordable. Bill also contrasted the tone of Hillary’s campaign from that of Republican Donald Trump’s saying, “Her theme is ‘Stronger Together’ and her opponent’s theme is ‘No we’re not.'” He attacked Trump for his negative, “us vs. them” message adding, “I spent a lot of my childhood in an us-versus-them environment. It doesn’t work.” He concluded the event by urging Ohioans to get out and vote.
In Columbus, Bill spoke to a predominantly African American audience about the dangers of Trump and how is “Make American Great Again” theme is a reference to a different time in America. Bill said, “When our opponent says, ‘make America great again,’ hey, I’m a 70-year-old white southerner, I know what that means. Fifty years ago, it wasn’t so great for African-Americans or Hispanic-Americans or first-generation immigrants or women in the workplace. Children with disabilities couldn’t go to school. Nobody saw their abilities. Gay people were confined to a closet.” Bill spoke about Hillary’s plans to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity in America and urged everyone to take advantage of Ohio’s early voting.
Bill’s final event of the day was in Cincinnati where he continued to tout his wife’s plans to create jobs and build on the economic progress of the last eight years. He urged everyone to vote on election day or to take advantage of early voting. Bill also asked everyone to make sure their friends and family members vote saying, “I want to ask you to do two things: Vote today. Vote tomorrow. Vote every day if you haven’t voted. I don’t mean more than one time – don’t do that. Concentrate on getting people who are for Hillary to go vote.
