Hillary Clinton Addresses Annie’s List Luncheon

On Friday, Hillary Clinton traveled to Houston, Texas where she spoke at a fundraising luncheon for Annie’s List. Clinton gave a short speech during the event in which she spoke about the United States’ actions against the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Trump administration’s response. Clinton remarks were not focused on national politics. Instead, she spoke about the importance of turning Texas blue during the mid-term elections in 2018 and the next presidential election in 2020. She said, “A lot of the best young Democrats in America are right here in Texas, and that’s especially true for young Democratic women.” She urged everyone to keep fighting, and most importantly, voting adding, “I know we can win in 2018. Hillary Clinton Speaks at Women in the World Summit

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke at the Women in the World Summit in New York City. After being introduced by Samantha Bee, Clinton was interviewed by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof. Clinton and Kristof discussed a number of topics including recent chemical attacks by Syrian President Bashar Assad. Clinton called for airstrikes on Syrian airfields, which President Donald Trump announced hours later. Other topics discussed include the failure of Congress to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, the Trump presidency, women’s rights around the world, sexism in the election, and what she learned from the election, and whether she will run for office again in the future.

Clinton said that she still does not fully understand the animosity some people feel toward her saying, “I am not perfect, everybody knows that by now … Sometimes I don’t know quite how to fix what they are concerned about. But I try. And so, I take it seriously, but I don’t any longer, and haven’t for a long time taken it personally. Because part of the attacks … part of the bullying and part of the name calling — and that has certainly become more pervasive — is to crush your spirit and feel inadequate. And I just refused to do that — and that infuriated everyone.” However, she vowed to keep fighting for what’s right and for the American people. A full video from the event is below.

Clinton Speaks about Role of Women in Peace Negotiations

On Friday, Hillary Clinton spoke at an event on the campus of Georgetown University. She spoke about the importance of women being in leadership in America and around the world. She stressed the importance of women taking part in peace negotiations and the peace process. Clinton said that when women are involved “peace negotiations [and] agreements are less likely to fail and more likely to last.” Clinton’s backed up her claim with data from United Nations Women. Clinton Speaks about Diversity in Silicon Valley

Hillary Clinton returned to political form on Tuesday when she spoke at the Professional Business Women of California Conference in San Francisco, California. Clinton spoke to a crowd of over 3,500 before sitting down for a conversation with Susie Tompkins Buell. During her speech, Clinton spoke about the need for all Americans to resist the rhetoric of President Donald Trump and his administration. She also urged everyone to continue to fight against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and contact Congress. She said, “Resist, insist, persist, enlist.”

The majority of her speech focused on diversity in the workplace and the need for equal pay for women and paid family leave. She urged the business leaders in the room, most of them from Silicon Valley, to lead the way forward in granting employees paid family leave and maternity leave. Clinton criticized the Trump administration and Congress for attempting to roll back health care coverage for women. She said that when the Republican health bill failed last week it “was a victory for all Americans.” But Clinton warned “the other side never quits. Hillary Clinton Speaks at Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

On Friday, Hillary Clinton spoke at the Society of Irish Women’s dinner in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She spoke to the group for nearly twenty minutes about a number of topics including her local connections. Her grandfather worked in a Scranton lace mill for more than 50 years. She said that it was her father who left the area for Chicago, where she grew up. Clinton wrapped up her speech by hinting that she may be planning a political comeback soon. “I’m like a lot of my friends right now. I have a hard time watching the news, I’ll confess. Hillary Clinton Rallies Democrats via Video

As the Democratic Party builds its platform following the 2016 election cycle and selects a new leader, Hillary Clinton spoke via video at the party’s gathering in Atlanta. In the video, Clinton calls on Democrats to continue fighting the Republican agenda and the policies proposed by President Donald Trump. She said that she is proud of the platform that the party assembled for the 2016 election cycle and urged everyone to continue to resist. “Let resistance plus persistence equal progress for our party and our country,” she said. Clinton Honors Oscar de la Renta at USPS Event

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke at an event honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The United States Postal Service unveiled a new set of stamps honoring de la Renta and his work. Speaking at Grand Central Terminal, Clinton spoke about her friendship with de la Renta and his wife and praised his contribution to the world of fashion. She said, “Oscar de la Renta was an immigrant. And aren’t we proud and grateful that he was?” Others attending the event included Diane von Furstenberg, Valentino Garavani, Anna Wintour, and Michael Bloomberg. In the video, Clinton praised the women who marched across the country and world in support of women’s rights. Hillary Clinton Speaks at the Opening of State Department Pavilion

Hillary Clinton returned to Washington, DC on Tuesday for the opening of a new exhibition area in the State Department’s museum. Named in her honor, The Hillary Clinton Pavilion marks the completion of another section of the U.S. Diplomacy Center. Clinton was joined at the event by Secretary of State John Kerry and former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell. Clinton spoke briefly about the important work of the museum and its exciting future saying, “I’m excited about the historic artifacts and the cutting-edge exhibits that will be here to teach and inspire future generations about the work of our country’s diplomats.
