Vice President Joe Biden campaigned for Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine on the campus of Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. During his speech, Biden outlined a number of Clinton’s platform points and how they will help everyone and not just those at the top. Biden also spoke about his personal friendship with Clinton saying that she has known her for more than three decades. He said, “She gets it guys. I want people to know the Hillary I know.” Biden spoke about Clinton’s dedication to the middle class and ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity in America. In Nashua, New Hampshire, Vice President Joe Biden spoke to supporters about electing Democrats to office up and down the ballot on November 8th. While he was in the state to campaign for Hillary Clinton, he also appeared with Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Democratic Senate candidate Maggie Hassan. Biden spoke about the importance of voting in the election on November 8th and blasted Donald Trump for his refusal to say he’d accept the outcome of the election. Biden said, “No democratic process can be sustained without a sense of trust. He’s questioning not the legitimacy of our elections, (but) the legitimacy of our democracy.” Biden also criticized Trump for his comments about the military and women saying that Trump does not represent American values. Hillary Clinton campaigned with former Vice President Al Gore today in Miami, Florida. Appearing together at Miami Dade College’s Kendall Campus, Clinton spoke about her plan to address climate change and make the United States a clean energy super power. She then introduced Gore as “one of the world’s foremost leaders on climate change.” Gore then took the stage and spoke about the threat of climate change to the United States and the world. He urged voters to elect a leader who acknowledged that climate change is real. “Your vote really, really, really counts,” he said adding, referring to is 2000 presidential election loss, “You can consider me as an Exhibit A of that.” A video of Clinton and Gore’s speeches is below.
Tim Kaine wrapped up a visit to Nevada this morning with an event in Henderson at the Sun City MacDonald Ranch. While Kaine spoke about he and Hillary Clinton’s platform, he primarily focused on health care during the event. He spoke about Clinton’s proposals to give tax credits to caregivers, provide grants to researchers to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, combat the rising costs of prescription drugs, and protect Medicare and Social Security. On Friday, Vice President Joe Biden returned to the campaign trail where he spoke to a crowd of supporters in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Speaking to students at Bucks County Community College, he spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and electing Hillary Clinton president instead of Republican Donald Trump. “I know some of you, and some of the people you’re trying to convince, aren’t crazy about Hillary, I know that. I think she’s gotten an unfair deal,” he said. Biden spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform proposals, including plans to reduce student loan interest rates and reducing the cost of higher education for future students. Biden also urged those who have not registered to vote to do so before Pennsylvania’s deadline on October 11, then he urged them to vote on November 8th. “Don’t wake up on November 9th and find we’ve lost Pennsylvania by 2,000 votes,” he said. Tim Kaine continued his campaign visit to Pennsylvania today with a morning event in Pittsburgh. Speaking on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s broad platform proposals including her plans to reduce student debt, make college more affordable, increase the minimum wage, create new jobs, and reinvest in manufacturing. Pittsburgh is especially reliant on its manufacturing sector and has struggled recently. Kaine went after Republican Donald Trump for talking about bringing manufacturing back to the United States when Trump himself imports in products from China and Mexico. Kaine said, “Don’t you think if Trump believed in making America great he’d buy steel right from here and not China?” Watch a video of Kaine’s speech below.
Kaine then traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada where he spoke at a rally at a local United Brotherhood of Carpenters union. Kaine spoke about the plan that he and Clinton have outlined including the support of labor unions and creation of new jobs. He remained on the offensive going after Trump and his running mate Mike Pence. Referring to Pence’s refusal to answer for Trump’s comments, Kaine said, “I am going to defend my running mate. Tonight, the running mates of presidential nominees Hillary Clinton (D) and Donald Trump (R) will face off in the only vice-presidential debate during the election cycle. Senator Tim Kaine (D) and former Indian Governor Mike Pence (R) will face off in their debate from Farmville, Virginia. The event will be moderated by CBSN’s Elaine Quijano. The debate will begin at 9 pm ET and will be available live on most major television networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC, Fox News, CNBC, CNN, Univision, Telemundo, C-SPAN). Vice President Joe Biden returned to the campaign trail on Monday where he campaigned in support of Hillary Clinton in Florida. His first event was in Orlando where he spoke about Clinton and her plans to grow the economy and work with our foreign allies. He contrasted her style with Donald Trump’s calling Trump “dangerously uninformed.” He said that a number of foreign leaders are worried about the direction of the United States if Trump is elected, and Biden warned that everyone should because his presidency could have long reaching effects. He encouraged everyone to vote in November and register before the deadlines saying, “Bust your necks, folks, getting your friends to register to vote. It does matter. Biden then traveled to Sarasota where he spoke to supporters at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex. During his speech, Biden spoke about similar topics as he did in Orlando focusing on Clinton’s platform plans and proposals that would create jobs and ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity. A number of Labor Day events were held across the country today on behalf of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Vice President Joe Biden and Tim Kaine took part in a Labor Day parade and each spoke to a crowd of supporters and parade goers. Biden spoke about the importance of the upcoming election saying that Donald Trump is not a friend of workers saying, “Look at the man’s behavior — personal behavior. He really does believe that workers make too much.” Kaine then took the stage and delivered a similar message talking about Clinton’s dedication to job creation and the economy. In Virginia, Kaine wife, Anne Holton, campaigned on behalf of Clinton and Kaine at two separate events. The first was the 7th Annual Salute to Labor Unions & Community Leaders Breakfast in Hampton where she spoke about Clinton’s dedication to labor unions and their rights. Then, at an event in Newport News, Holton was joined by Lt. Gov. Ralph Northam for the Bobby Scott Annual Labor Day Picnic. During her remarks, Holton focused on her specialty, education. As the former Secretary of Education for Virginia, Holton spoke about the importance of understanding the needs of educators and students. She said, “Really, what Hillary has asked me to do is talk to teachers. Listen to teachers, educators, parents, students and bring feedback back to her. Finally, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Senator Bernie Sanders spoke to a group of supporters at Lebanon High School where he campaigned on behalf of Clinton. During his speech, Sanders spoke about Clinton’s job plan and her dedication to improving the country’s economy. Following his speech, Governor Maggie Hassan also spoke on Clinton’s behalf. On Thursday, Vice President spoke at two campaign events in Ohio in support of Hillary Clinton. At the first event in Warren, Biden spoke to a crowd of supporters at the United Auto Workers Local 1714 hall. Biden, like Clinton, included local references in his speech. He spoke about the importance of the automakers in Ohio and their successful turnaround following the recession in 2008 and 2009. He then spoke about a number of topics including Clinton’s record as a public servant and her dedication to the country, her plans for the economy and building jobs, and his ties to Ohio. Biden then went after Donald Trump for being ignorant of foreign affairs saying, “He is totally, thoroughly, completely uninformed.” A video from the event is below.
Biden then spoke at a rally outside of Cleveland in Parma. During his speech, the Vice President continued to go after Trump, but he focused more of his time on Clinton’s experience and his middle class roots. He told stories about his father’s job and his family’s money problems saying that his father couldn’t qualify for a loan to help him pay for college. When it comes to the struggles of the middle class, Biden said, “Hillary gets it, man. Trump has no idea. He has no idea.” A video from the event is below.
