Hillary Clinton Holds Town Hall for Digital Content Creators

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton attended two fundraisers and held a town hall event for digital content creators in Los Angeles, California. During the event, Clinton spoke about her plans to cultivate innovation and assist young people with their startups. Clinton then took questions from those in attendance and spoke about a number of topics including job creation, foreign policy alliances, and her thoughts on Republican Donald Trump.

Clinton also unveiled her Initiative on Technology & Innovation on Tuesday. While some of the details were discussed at an event earlier in the day in Denver, more details were discussed during the evening’s town hall. The extensive plan includes proposals to assist entrepreneurs, improve the technology used in the United States, update existing infrastructure, expand computer science and STEM education, protect user privacy, and make government more technologically efficient. Hillary Clinton Discusses Plans to Help Entrepreneurs During Denver Visit

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton spoke at a Denver, Colorado tech company where she unveiled plans to assist future entrepreneurs and encourage start-ups. Speaking at Galvanize, Clinton told the crowd, “Starting out can be daunting. There’s a lot, a lot of risk, even if you have a good idea. … It can be a lot harder if you are juggling student loan payments. And that can cut into what you are able to do.” Clinton spoke about her plan to help those out of college start businesses and begin working on their ideas and innovations. • Defer federal student loans for up to three years with no interest
• Offer an option to apply to have up to $17,500 of their student loans forgiven
• Offer similar incentives to early joiners of a new enterprise
• Provide access to specialized training and access to credit to grow their business
• Invest in incubators and accelerators to help young people get their ventures off the ground

While in Denver, Clinton also attended a fundraiser at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The event included an appearance by Connie Britton. Meanwhile, two additional fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in London and hosted by Ebs Burnough, Effie Datson, Britt Lintner, Virginia Rustique, Jennifer Sponer, and Eileen Taylor. The event included a conversation with tennis champion Billie Jean King and actor Dustin Lance Black. The second event was held in Boston, Massachusetts and included a conversation with former Congressman Barney Frank.

Hillary Clinton Pens Op-ed about her Plans to Help Appalachia

Following a series of conversations in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio, Hillary Clinton wrote a piece for Medium outlining her plan to assist Appalachian cities affected by the decline in demand for steel and coal. Her plan, which was outlined last November, calls for the securing of the health care and pension benefits of miners, invest in bringing more good-paying jobs to the region, invest in education and training programs, and protect families that have been affected by conditions, such as black lung, and denied proper health care coverage. Clinton faces an up-hill battle in Appalachia, and she is hoping that focusing on the area early in campaign will help bring voters out for her in November. Read the full op-ed HERE.

Hillary Clinton Campaigns in WV,OH, Sits Down with MSNBC

On Tuesday, while voters in Indiana headed to the polls in their primary, Hillary Clinton attended events in West Virginia and Ohio. She began in Charleston, West Virginia where she took part in a discussion that addressed addiction and the drug epidemic plaguing West Virginia. Clinton listened as several people told their stories, and she spoke about her plans to combat the drug epidemic that is an issue across the country. Clinton spoke about her plan to combat addiction and provide assistance to those recovering from it.

Clinton then went to Athens, Ohio where she offered a optimistic view of the future and covered a number of her platform points that will ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to rise. She spoke about plans to help local job creation, investments in education and training programs, and her plan to offer community college for free. She said, “I will fight for you and your families every day, whether you vote for me or not. I will be your partner and I will not for one moment give up,” Clinton recognizes that she faces an uphill battle attracting voters in Appalachia, but she will fight for everyone including those who “may find it hard to vote for any Democrat or for me in particular.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

Today, Clinton was also interviewed by Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC. During the interview, Clinton said that she is focused on the general election and campaigning against Republican front runner Donald Trump. She said, “I think that’s where we have to be, because we’re going to have a tough campaign against a candidate who will literally say or do anything. And we’re going to take him on at every turn on what’s really important to the people of our country.” Mitchell asked Clinton questions about a number of other topics including her Democratic opponent Bernie Sanders, the protesters she encountered in West Virginia, the continued FBI investigation into her email, and her speeches to Goldman Sachs. Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Philadelphia

Following her landslide win in New York, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail on Wednesday before next week’s primary contests by attending two events in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She began by attending a community discussion  at St. Paul’s Baptist Church on police conduct that included former Attorney General Eric Holder, Geneva Reed-Veal, the mother of Sandra Bland, and other families affected by the actions of law enforcement. During the discussion, Reed-Veal recalled the actions of police officers that took the life of her daughter. Clinton vowed to work with law enforcement to change policies, demilitarize police forces, and improve police training. She said that she was willing to work with anyone to provide solutions saying, “They’re asking us to be there for them. I will do everything I can imagine. I want these women and so many other family members to hold me accountable for everything I can possibly do, because it is wrong.” A full video of the event is below.

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event at The Fillmore where she spoke about a number of her platform points and took shots at the Republican presidential candidate field. While Clinton’s message has been focused on the work to be done, she is optimistic saying, “I want us all to be reminded of the incredible legacy that we’ve all inherited. [But] I believe that our best years can still be ahead of us.” She went on to ask for voters’ support next Tuesday, and she said that she looks forward to returning to Philadelphia in June for the Democratic National Convention.

Clinton Outlines Anti-Terrorism Strategy

At an event held on the campus University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Hillary Clinton outlined her plan to prevent jihadist recruitment and radicalization. Her plan consists of five parts:

1. Stop ISIS recruitment in the United States, especially online
2. Prevent would-be jihadists from getting training overseas, and prevent foreign terrorists from coming to the United States
3. Discover and disrupt terror plots before they can be carried out
4. Support law enforcement officers
5. Empower Muslim-American communities to fight radicalization

Clinton also called for a measure that would prevent people on the no-fly list from buying a gun. She said, “They’ll [Republicans] say that guns are a totally separate issue – nothing to do with terrorism. I have news for them. Terrorists use guns to kill Americans, and I think we should make it a lot harder for them to ever do that again.” Today’s proposals are in addition to her plans to defeat ISIS, which she laid out last month. On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton’s campaign released her outline to boost the United States’ manufacturing sector and assist communities that once had a strong manufacturing economy. Her plan includes a series of tax credits for communities that have lost manufacturing jobs, expanding access to grants and capital for smaller startups and manufacturers, stricter regulations for companies, and added emphasis on training and education. In the plan, Clinton argues that manufacturing is key to our economy because it provides higher paying jobs and boosts innovation. On Thursday, Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign unveiled plans to assist communities whose economies rely on coal as the infrastructure shifts to renewable energy. In her plan, Clinton calls for $30 billion in funding for communities who are suffering from the decrease in coal consumption. Clinton Rallies Vegas Crowd

Following her strong Debate performance, Hillary Rodham Clinton remained in the Las Vegas area on Wednesday to attend a number of events. First, Clinton toured a training facility at the headquarters of Allied Trades and the International Union of Painters. The event in Henderson included Clinton taking some questions from the press. She then made a surprise stop at an ice cream shop in North Las Vegas. At La Flor de Michoacan, Clinton tried a number of ice cream flavors and was accompanied by state assemblyman Nelson Araujo.

In the evening, Clinton rallied a crowd of 2,500 at Springs Preserve. Clinton reviewed her platform and plans and focused on health care and immigration. She criticized Republicans for trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and she took aim at Donald Trump for his comments about women and immigration. Referring to Tuesday night’s debate, Clinton said, “I am thrilled that people finally got a chance to compare the Democrats to the Republicans.
