Tim Kaine Encourages Early Voting in Ohio

Tim Kaine returned to the campaign trail in Ohio today after attending last night’s World Series baseball game played between the Cleveland Indians and Chicago Cubs. He began the day at a rally held at Lorain High School outside of Cleveland. Campaigning with Senator Al Franken, Kaine spoke about the importance of ensuring Democrats win the Senate, and he encouraged voters to not only support Hillary Clinton but Senate candidate Ted Strickland too. Kaine also spoke about Hillary’s platform points and her plan to bring jobs to Ohio, the dangers of electing Donald Trump, and the importance of voting and the importance of Ohio to the campaign saying, “If we win Ohio the race is over. Hillary Clinton will be president.”

Kaine then went to a rally outside Columbus in Gambier. He spoke about a number of Hillary’s policy proposals including her plan to make college more affordable, create jobs, and raise the minimum wage. Kaine attacked Trump for his refusal to not only accept the results of the election unless he wins, but also for refusing to take responsibility for his own actions. “He’s losing and he will not be able to accept responsibility … He’s going to try to blame it on something else — the media is against me, they rigged the election … If we can win big, he can whine all he wants,” he said. President Obama Campaigns for Hillary in Las Vegas

President Barack Obama returned to the campaign trail on Sunday and spoke at a Democratic Party rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. During his speech, Obama blasted Republican Donald Trump for his rhetoric and refusal to accept the results of the election should he lose. Obama encouraged everyone to vote for Hillary Clinton because she has a clear plan, and, as he put it, “We can’t afford the other guy.” Obama also spoke about the importance of voting for Democratic candidates in other races down the ballot as well, especially in the Senate. He urged those in attendance to support candidate Catherine Cortez Masto because she will fight for them in the Senate and work with Clinton to ensure that important work is done. He summed up his speech by asking everyone to vote on November 8th and to take advantage of early voting. “I need everybody here to not just vote yourselves, but you’ve got to get your friends, your neighbors, your cousins to vote,” he said. Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Cleveland

On Friday, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail with an event in Cleveland, Ohio. Clinton did reference Wednesday night’s debate saying that her three debates with Donald Trump more than prove that she has the stamina to be president. Speaking at Cuyahoga Community College, Clinton focused on her plans to help the middle class and ensure that everyone in America has an equal opportunity. She also addressed Trump’s refusal to say that he would accept the outcome of the election saying, “Make no mistake, by doing that, he is threatening our democracy. We know in our country the difference between leadership and dictatorship. The peaceful transition of power is one of the things that sets us apart.” She concluded by talking about what winning Ohio would mean to hear and urged everyone to take advantage of early voting or to vote on November 8th saying, “I want to earn your vote.” A video of Clinton’s speech is below.

Anne Holton, John Legend Campaign for Hillary

On Sunday, as Hillary Clinton prepared for the second presidential debate, Anne Holton was on the campaign trail in Iowa. At two stops, Council Bluffs and Sioux City, Holton spoke about the importance of voting and urged supporters to canvass for Clinton and to take full advantage of Iowa’s early voting. This evening in Des Moines, Holton attended a debate watch party at Creative Visions.

Singer John Legend returned to his home state of Ohio to attend two events on behalf of Clinton. The first was on the campus of Central State University in Dayton where he urged everyone to register to vote by Tuesday’s deadline. He said, “I care so much about what happens to our young people. I care so much about what happens in this area, I care so much about what happens in Ohio, I care so much about the future of this country. That’s why I’m here to get you all to register to vote and hopefully to vote for Hillary Clinton.” Then, he traveled to Cincinnati where he appeared at Bogarts. During the event, he urged everyone to make sure they are registered to vote, then he performed a number of his songs for those in attendance. Meanwhile, a fundraiser was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with  Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Tim Kaine, Bill Clinton on the Campaign Trial for Hillary

Tim Kaine returned to the campaign trail on Wednesday following his strong debate performance on Tuesday night. During his speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kaine claimed victory, but did address criticisms that he interrupted Mike Pence too many times joking that even his wife gave him a hard time about it. He did go after Pence for not defending his running mate Donald Trump saying, “Your running mate ought to be able to defend you.” Kaine continued with his speech talking about a number of Hillary’s key platform points including creating new jobs, raising the minimum wage, supporting labor unions, improving health care, supporting the middle class, and ensuring that everyone has an equal chance in America. Bill Clinton remained in Ohio where he wrapped up a multiple day bus tour of the state. This morning he was in Youngstown where he spoke about Hillary’s plans to create new jobs and help communities that have been hit hard by unemployment and a loss of manufacturing and mining jobs. He said that he understands voters’ anger saying, “Look, there’s a reason for the road rage today. People go 15 years without a raise, they’re mad.” He then outlined a number of of Hillary’s platform proposals that would help communities like Youngstown including investments in infrastructure and clean energy. Speaking at the local UAW hall, Bill also spoke about the importance of labor unions and Hillary’s continued support for them while Republicans like Trump and Pence try to stamp out unions. Bill then traveled to Canton where he continued to his focus on the economy and job creation. He said, “I think we’re on the verge of the greatest period of prosperity, discovery and advancement in the history of this country, if we do that right thing.” But, Bill warned, there are people like Trump who are more interested in helping those at the top of the income scale and ignore those in the middle and working classes. He said that in order to grow the economy, we need to tap into previously untapped resources. “We need more manufacturing loans, we need more small business loans and more small business startups, we need more investments in science and technology,” he said. A Week on the Campaign Trail with Chelsea Clinton

Chelsea Clinton has been on the campaign trail for her mother, Hillary Clinton, since the beginning of this year. She has been a fixture of the Clinton campaign strategy, and the magazine Marie Claire was given an exclusive behind the scenes look at life on the campaign trail. Chelsea kept a detailed journal of one week on the campaign trail for the magazine. And the week Marie Claire followed Chelsea wasn’t just any week, it was the week of the Democratic National Convention in late July. The week Hillary become the first woman ever nominated to be president by a major political party. The article was published in the current issue of the magazine and offers a fascinating look behind the scenes of a woman whose mother could be the next President of the United States. Bill, Chelsea, and Others Attend Fundraisers

On Monday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton were on the campaign trail fundraising for Hillary’s campaign. Bill was in Florida where he attended a number of events on behalf of Hillary. She was originally scheduled to attend the events, but she cancelled to attend a number of campaign events across Nevada before this weekend’s caucus. In Florida, Bill attended a fundraiser at the Palm Beach home of Elaine and Gerald Schuster. Then, he attended a fundraiser held at Gary Nader Fine Art in Miami. Finally, in Boca Raton, he attended an event at the home of Helene and Roy Schwedelson.

While in Florida, Bill hosted one public event in Riviera Beach where he spoke about Clinton’s experience and qualifications for the presidency, but he also went after her rival Bernie Sanders (not by name) by saying that it was important for the Democratic Party to remain moderate and to not lean too far left. He cited the rift between the Republican Party and the more extreme Tea Party as an example that the Democrats do not want to follow. He also spoke about heath care, higher education, and immigration reform. A video of his speech is below.

Chelsea Clinton was also on the campaign trail on Monday making stops in Ohio and Pennsylvania. She began with morning event in Bexley, Ohio at the home of Susan Tomasky and Ron Ungvarsky. She then traveled to the Cleveland home of Judy Eigenfeld and Rick Maron. She wrapped up the evening with a fundraiser at the home of Kris and Robyn Jones
in Shavertown, Pennsylvania.

In Washington, DC, Senator Debbie Stabenow hosted a conversation on Capital Hill. The event is part of a series hosted by Hillary for America covering a number of platform topics. This evening’s topic was Agricultural policy.
