Hillary Clinton to Release New Book, Speak at Alma Mater

Hillary Clinton is returning to public spotlight. She has attended a few events since she lost the presidential race in November, but today several upcoming events were announced. The biggest announcement was from publisher Simon & Schuster who will publish a collection of personal essays by Clinton this fall. The book is described to include a number of her favorite quotes to “tell stories from her life, up to and including her experiences in the 2016 presidential campaign.” Simon & Schuster also announced a children’s book version of Clinton’s book, It Takes a Village, will be released in September. The new edition will feature illustrations by Marla Frazee and all proceeds will be donated to charity.

It was also announced that she will be returning to the speech circuit with several events planned in the coming months. The most notable will be a commencement address at Wellesley College, her alma mater. Clinton gained notoriety for becoming the first student speaker at her own commencement in 1969. Other speeches on tap for Clinton include an event at the United States Postal Service honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, a speech organized by Vital Voices on International Women’s Day, and a speech at a New York LGBT Community Center. Clinton Wins PA, DE, MD, CT Primaries

Hillary Clinton has won the Democratic primaries in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Connecticut. Bernie Sanders won the Rhode Island contest. It was an important night for Clinton as she gained a number of important delegates to get her closer to the Democratic nomination. Numbers will be updated tomorrow once the full results are reported.

Clinton held a victory rally in Philadelphia where she thanked the volunteers and voters that made tonight’s victories possible. During her speech, Clinton focused more on the general election and unifying the Democratic party to defeat the Republicans in November. She spoke about a number of people that she has met throughout the campaign and how thier personal stories drive her to build a country where everyone rises together and not just those at the top. She said, “We will unify our party to win this election and build an America where we can all rise together – an America where we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down.” A video of her speech is below.

Clinton in New Hampshire – Day 3

On Saturday, Hillary Rodham Clinton wrapped up her trip to New Hampshire by speaking at a Democratic Party Convention in Manchester. Following speeches by fellow Democratic presidential candidates Lincoln Chafee, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders, she fired up a crowd of over 4,000 by attacking her Republican rivals and addressing a number of key elements of her platform including the minimum wage, college affordability, and heath care. She incorporated the stories of New Hampshire voters that she has met during her campaign to illustrate how the points of her platform would benefit every American.
