Clinton holds a roundtable discussion in Las Vegas on May 5, 2015

On Friday, an op-ed by Hillary Rodham Clinton was published in the Las Vegas based Spanish-language newspaper El Mundo. In the op-ed, Clinton recalls her recent trip to Las Vegas where she met with young immigrants during a roundtable event. She promised to fight for immigration reform if elected president and referenced her voting record on immigration as a Senator. She reassured the Hispanic community that they can count on her to fight for the preservation of their families.

She wrote, “As a mother, grandmother, and American, I don’t know how a person can meet these young people that have contributed so much to their communities and represent so much potential for the future, and think of threatening them and their families with deportation. And still that is precisely what almost every Republican candidate would do.”

Hillary Clinton Gets Political on Twitter

Hillary Rodham Clinton took to Twitter today to voice her concerns about the Republican budget introduced in the House of Representatives which cut funds for the Affordable Care Act and Pell Grants. Yesterday, she blasted Senate Republicans for failing to pass the Human Trafficking bill and holding up the confirmation of Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. The Tweets came a week after she publicly criticized 47 Republican lawmakers for sending a letter to Iran in attempts to block any possible nuclear deal between Iran and the United States.

As she is expected to announce her 2016 presidential in a few weeks, Clinton is becoming more and more political in her statements and on Twitter. Her Tweets from yesterday and today are below:

Campaign for Senate Candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes (KY)

Saturday, November 1, 2014

On Saturday, Clinton made a second campaign stop supporting Kentucky Senate Candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes. In a tight race against Senator Mitch McConnell, Grimes was hoping to pull off an upset to unseat the current Minority Leader. Clinton, again, attached McConnell’s record and his partisan rhetoric. She said, “”I love the idea of putting this Kentucky filly in the winner’s circle in Kentucky. This is not just a contest between a permanent Washington fixture and a fresh face. It is a contest between old thinking and new thinking. We cannot, in our country, continue to reward the dividers. We need to reward the uniters — the people who care about everybody.”

Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at a campaign event for Senate candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes in Kentucky. Grimes is hoping to unseat Senator Mitch McConnell, someone Clinton blamed for much of the partisan politics in Congress. Clintons’ comments were the strongest politically so far in the campaigns. She said, “Do you want politics in Washington, in the Congress, to look the same for the next six years? Because more than any other race in the country, this election in Kentucky is a referendum on the future,” she said. “It is a chance to say no to the guardians of gridlock and yes to government that actually delivers results for working people.”
