Tim Kaine Makes Case for Clinton in Wisconsin

Tim Kaine campaigned in Wisconsin on Tuesday where he focused on the sharp contrast between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. At his first event in Appleton, Kaine spoke about the optimistic and inclusive platform assembled by Clinton, then compared it to the divisive plans proposed by Trump. Kaine also spoke about the two candidates’ different background. He spoke about Clinton’s passion for children and families and how she has fought for both during her long career. Meanwhile, Trump has been more focused on himself. Kaine concluded the event by speaking about the importance of Wisconsin to Clinton and himself and he urged everyone to take advantage of early voting or to head to the ballot box on November 8th. Kaine then speak at a rally in Madison. He spoke about the importance of Wisconsin in the election saying that they are one of the key battleground states. Kaine spoke about Clinton’s platform and her support of a progressive agenda. He said, “You have a proud progressive tradition that goes back a long, long time.” He continued, “I’m excited to have somebody in the Oval Office bringing 40 years of passionate battling for families and kids. Donald Trump does have a passion, it’s just Donald J. Trump.” Kaine urged everyone to vote on November 8th because every vote is important in a close election. Meanwhile, Kaine’s wife, Anne Holton, spoke at three early voting events in Iowa. She spoke at events in Carroll, Des Moines, and Boone. At each, she stressed the importance of the election and urged everyone to get out and vote. More details from the events will be posted when/if available.

On Tuesday, three fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first two were in New York and featured Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. She spoke at events in Syracuse and Rochester. Then, in Washington, DC, Heather Boushey held an event.

Tim Kaine, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary

On Monday, Tim Kaine campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Denver, Colorado. During the event, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary’s platform points and spoke about her strong performance at last night’s debate. Kaine also spoke about Republican Donald Trump’s 2005 vulgar comments about women saying that men should be insulted by them as well. He said that Trump “cannot look at a woman and see an equal” and real men do not talk about women in a derogatory way. The event also featured a performance by musician Dave Matthews. Chelsea Clinton, meanwhile, campaigned in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She began her day in Rochester, Minnesota where she spoke to local residents about her mother’s policies and why she is the best candidate for the job. She then spoke about the importance of voting in the upcoming election. Chelsea urged everyone to register to vote and to turn out on November 8th saying that everyone has a vested interest in the election. “I didn’t know I could care anymore about politics until I was blessed to become a parent and found that I could, found everything I cared about before just has a sharper intensity,” she said. Chelsea then traveled to Racine, Wisconsin where she addressed a group of local residents at the Living Light Community Center. Chelsea spoke about a number of Hillary’s major platform points such as raising the minimum wage, passing comprehensive immigration reform, ensuring women receive equal pay, and supporting family medical leave. Chelsea also contrasted Hillary’s plans from those of Trump saying that Hillary has the background and bipartisan connections in Congress to get the job done. “If we look at areas where we already have a broad-base and bipartisan support, my mother has a record of building things together and getting things done. And she hopes that she will have the opportunity to demonstrate that action-oriented positive leadership as president,” she explained. A video from the Racine event is below.

In Chicago, Illinois, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Rick Bayless.

Clintons Canvass New York on Eve on Primary

On the eve of the New York primary, Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary Clinton were canvassing the state for support before tomorrow’s primary. A list of Hillary’s favorite New York restaurants was published by Thrillist, and  she attended a number of events in and around New York City. Hillary began by appearing on a morning radio show called “The Breakfast Club“. During the interview, Clinton spoke about a number of her key platform points and the importance of tomorrow’s primary in New York. She also was asked to name something that she always carry with her. Her answer was “hot sauce.” Watch a video of the full interview HERE to find out why.

Hillary then hosted a Get Out the Vote rally at the Hilton in Manhattan. During her speech, she spoke about her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders and his record on gun control. He voted for a 2005 bill that made gun manufacturers immune from lawsuits if their product was used illegally. She continued, “There are many powerful lobbyists in Washington, as I said in the debate the other night in Brooklyn. I said, look, Senator Sanders talks a lot about the greed and recklessness of Wall Street. But what about the greed and recklessness of the gun manufacturers?” Hillary went on to explain the importance of the 2016 election and asked for voters’ support tomorrow. Tonight, Hillary will appear on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Bill, meanwhile, was campaigning on Hillary’s behalf in Buffalo and Rochester. In Buffalo, Bill began by kicking off a phone bank at Hilary’s headquarters. He then made several stops in town visiting St. John Towers senior facility, Spot Coffee, and he had lunch at Alton’s restaurant in Cheektowaga. In Rochester, Bill was joined by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and spoke to a crowd of supporters. He spoke briefly about a number of Hillary’s platform points and asked for their vote in tomorrow’s primary. Chelsea has spent the last two days campaigning on behalf of her mother at smaller events across the state. Yesterday, Chelsea spoke at Get Out the Vote events in Poughkeepsie and Binghamton. At both events, she spoke about her mother’s experience and plans as president. She stressed the importance of the election saying that it is the “most important” election of her lifetime. Chelsea even took time to answer questions from those in attendance.

Today, Chelsea spoke with supporters at the Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls. She spoke about her mom’s experience saying, “I think when you look at who has a real record of being able to deliver progress and be able to make change, my mom really stands out.” She spoke about similar topics at her other stops in upstate New York. Chelsea also spoke with supporters at Coltivare in Ithaca. In Rome, Chelsea visited a local daycare center. Speaking at the Little Learners On Campus Child Care Center, she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and Hillary’s plan to expand it nationwide.

The Clintons weren’t the only ones campaigning on behalf of Hillary today. In New York, Carole King, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and Cecile Richards all joined Hillary and held events on their own. In Chicago, Illinois, David Plouffe, Campaign Manager for President Barack Obama in 2008, attended a fundraiser that was hosted by Kevin Conlon, Katelynd Duncan, Abby Erwin, Adam Hitchcock, Reyhad Kazmi, Samir Mayekar, Kevin Morris, Marilynn Rubio, Jon Samuels, Abigail Schmitz, and Joshua Schwartz.

Hillary Clinton Campaigns in New York

On Friday, Hillary Clinton spoke at two organizing events in New York. The first was in Buffalo, where Clinton first made stops at the Gates Vascular Institute where she toured the facility. Then, she attended an economic roundtable event at the Jacobs Institute. Finally, she held a public organizing event at the Pierce Arrow Museum. Clinton focused on the economy and her accomplishments as a New York Senator. During her speech, she praised the city saying, “There is no doubt in my mind that Buffalo is on the rise and Buffalo will have a great future.” Videos from the economic roundtable event and organizing event are below.

In Rochester, Clinton spoke to a crowd of supporters at Monroe Community College. During her speech, she spoke about a variety of issues facing the country including heath care and the rising cost of a college education. True to form, Clinton tailored her speech for Rochester saying, “I am happy to be back in the Rochester area because this is a place grew to admire and have such affection for during my time as your senator. What a history, but what an exciting future. There is a lot going on now in Rochester and we have to keep it going. You have two of the greatest universities in the entire world right here in Rochester.” A video of her speech is below.

Bill Clinton Campaigns in New York on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Bill Clinton spoke at three organizing events in New York before their primary on April 19. He began in Elmont where he discussed Hillary’s experience and her service to the state of New York as Senator. He said, “This election in so many ways, psychologically, is coming down to New York. We’ve got to send a message to America that Hillary was our senator, she delivered in New York … If you think what she did as senator, imagine what she could do as president.” He then went on to speak about a number of Hillary’s platform points and plans as president.

In Depew, Bill asked Hillary’s supporters to come out and vote for her on April 19 and urged them to ask their friends and family to support her as well. He spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and how it can have a lasting impact on the country. He said that Hillary’s experience and leadership would help incomes rise, grow the economy, and continue to improve heath care for everyone. Bill also spoke about the 2008 financial crash and explained that Republican policies were the root cause and that going back to those policies would only lead to the same results.

His final organizing event was held in Rochester where Bill spoke at a local union hall. During the speech, he spoke about labor rights and improving the economy for everyone, and not just those at the top. He said that Hillary was the best candidate because she is a change maker and will fight for what she believes in. He covered a wide variety of platform points in his speech before asking voters to support her in the upcoming primary. A video from the event is below.

Bill, Chelsea Campaign for Hillary before Super Tuesday

On Sunday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton were on the campaign trail in support of Hillary Clinton. Bill spent the day in Florida where he attended fundraisers in Miami and Boca Raton. In Miami Gardens, he spoke at a Get Out the Vote event where he covered Hillary’s call for increased gun control, improving health care, and resolving systemic racism. He asked voters to support Hillary in the upcoming March 15th primary. A video from his speech will be added when/if available.

Chelsea was in Minnesota before Tuesday’s caucuses, and she attended Get Out the Caucus events in Minnetonka and South St. Paul. She also spoke at a Women for Hillary event in Rochester. At each of the events, she spoke about her mother’s experience and platform, focusing particularly on her work with children and women’s rights. Chelsea said, “She set the expectations that every embassy representing our country around the world would know what was happening to women and girls in terms of rights, opportunities, safety, health, participation. And she spent three years building a bipartisan coalition to create the children’s health insurance program, which covers more than eight million low-income kids, including tens of thousands here in Minnesota.” Videos from today’s events will be posted when/if available.

Clintons Campaign on Eve of NH Primary

On the eve of the New Hampshire primary, Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea Clinton attended events across the state drumming up last minute support. Bill attended a Get Out the Vote event in Rochester. During the event, Bill went after Bernie Sanders and criticized his tactics saying, “You can’t have a debate with somebody if every time you raise the question, ‘Oh, you’re part of the establishment, you’re attacking me.’ All we need is a conversation about what policies are best and who has the best chance of enacting them and I trust the voters.”

All three Clintons attended events in Manchester and Hudson. During her speeches, Hillary defended her record, specifically her ties to Wall Street. She pointed out that Sanders has been the recipient of Wall Street money as well. She said, “You know, Senator Sanders took about $200,000 from Wall Street firms, not directly, but through the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. There nothing wrong with that. It hasn’t changed his view. It hasn’t changed my view or my vote either.” Videos from today’s events will be posted when/if available.

While Clinton is trailing in the Democratic primary polls, the weather is going to be snowy and cold, which could affect turnout. The Clinton campaign has seized on the opportunity to offer rides to the polls. Today she said, “I think Granite Staters are pretty hardy. Obviously, if roads are slick, people will have to be careful. I hope that we’ll be able to help. Anybody who needs a ride to the polls, call my campaign. We’ll be happy to get you there. We’ve got a great organization ready to turn out as many voters as possible.”

Clinton Hosts New Hampshire Town Halls

On Friday, Hillary Clinton returned to New Hampshire where she attended three events. The first event was a town hall in Rochester. After being introduced by New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Clinton toned down her criticism of Bernie Sanders and rarely mentioned him by name. Being from neighboring Vermont, Sanders has a lot of supporters in New Hampshire, and she cannot afford to alienate them. She did point out several flaws in his plans, specifically heath care, and explained how her plan to expand the Affordable Care Act would be better for everyone.  Mentioning Sanders by name, Clinton said, “Senator Sanders and I share many of the same goals, but we have different records and different ideas about how to drive progress.” A video from the event is below.

On the 43rd anniversary date of the Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision, Clinton spoke at a women’s health conference hosted by NARAL Pro-Choice America. During her speech, Clinton supported a woman’s right to choose, something she has firmly believed in for her entire political career. She said, “All women deserve to have their rights respected. All women deserve to have access to the health services and choices they are entitled to. It should not be that some who are fortunate economically can access their rights while all others are left behind.” A video from the event will be posted when/if available.

Clinton’s final event of the day was a town hall event held in Manchester. During the event, Clinton focused on the economy and the work that needs to be done to grow the middle class. She also spoke about the heroin and opioid crisis that is spreading across the Northeast and has had a high impact on New Hampshire. She said, “I was not prepared to hear from so many about what was happening in the families of New Hampshire. Addiction, the heroin epidemic which is at one highest rates in this state of any in the country.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Clinton Returns to New Hampshire

Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to the Granite State on Monday where she made three stops: Rochester, Concord, and Manchester. In Manchester this evening, Clinton attended a Flag Day dinner, but the main two events took place earlier in the day. In Rochester, she attended an early childhood education summit at the YMCA where she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and her plan to provide universal preschool across the country. Before leaving the YMCA, Clinton took time to read a book to the children.

In Concord, Clinton held a campaign rally where she made it clear that her campaign was not about her husband, former President Bill Clinton, or President Barack Obama. She is running as herself. She said, “I will do what works … and I will be laying out policies that will give you a very clear idea of the direction I will head.” She reiterated the four fights that she spoke first about at the campaign rally held in New York on Saturday.
