Tim Kaine, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary

On Monday, Tim Kaine campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Denver, Colorado. During the event, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary’s platform points and spoke about her strong performance at last night’s debate. Kaine also spoke about Republican Donald Trump’s 2005 vulgar comments about women saying that men should be insulted by them as well. He said that Trump “cannot look at a woman and see an equal” and real men do not talk about women in a derogatory way. The event also featured a performance by musician Dave Matthews. Chelsea Clinton, meanwhile, campaigned in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She began her day in Rochester, Minnesota where she spoke to local residents about her mother’s policies and why she is the best candidate for the job. She then spoke about the importance of voting in the upcoming election. Chelsea urged everyone to register to vote and to turn out on November 8th saying that everyone has a vested interest in the election. “I didn’t know I could care anymore about politics until I was blessed to become a parent and found that I could, found everything I cared about before just has a sharper intensity,” she said. Chelsea then traveled to Racine, Wisconsin where she addressed a group of local residents at the Living Light Community Center. Chelsea spoke about a number of Hillary’s major platform points such as raising the minimum wage, passing comprehensive immigration reform, ensuring women receive equal pay, and supporting family medical leave. Chelsea also contrasted Hillary’s plans from those of Trump saying that Hillary has the background and bipartisan connections in Congress to get the job done. “If we look at areas where we already have a broad-base and bipartisan support, my mother has a record of building things together and getting things done. And she hopes that she will have the opportunity to demonstrate that action-oriented positive leadership as president,” she explained. A video from the Racine event is below.

In Chicago, Illinois, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Rick Bayless.

Hillary Clinton Endorsed by Three California TWU Locals

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton was endorsed by Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) Locals 502, 505, and 250-A. Clinton released a statement saying that she is honored to receive the groups’ endorsement. She spoke about the importance of labor unions and ensuring that transportation workers are treated fairly. A copy of Clinton’s statement is below:

“I am honored and grateful to have earned the endorsement of the Transport Workers Union of America Locals 502, 505, and 250-A.

In California and all across the country, the diverse members of the TWU keep our airplanes flying, our trains running, and our buses driving. The members of Locals 502, 505, and 250-A are no exception. They keep passengers and residents alike safe, healthy, and moving every day. In the process, they’ve helped to build the American middle class. And they’ve stood up and demanded the fair treatment and respect that they deserve.

As President, I’ll stand with the workers of Locals 502, 505, and 250-A. I’ll never stop fighting to protect workers’ rights to organize and bargain collectively. I’ll fight to stop big corporations from padding their bottom lines by cutting workers’ wages and sacrificing health and retirement benefits. And because infrastructure is so vital to our economy, in my first 100 days, I’ll propose the biggest investment in American infrastructure since we built the Interstate Highway System. If I’m elected president, organized labor will always have a champion in the White House and a seat at the table.”

Hillary Clinton Tours Low-Income Housing in Harlem

On Friday, Hillary Clinton spent the morning in Harlem, New York where she toured a NYCHA building in East Harlem. Clinton toured the building with New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, spoke with residents, and took part in a game of dominoes. Clinton vowed to help struggling low-income communities by expanding funding for the Low Income Housing Tax Credits and other programs. She told the residents, “My constituents mean the world to me, and I do everything that I do for them, to improve the quality of life of my district, and so for you to be there with them means a lot to me.” A video clip from her visit is below.

Hillary Clinton Speaks at Flint Community Event

On Sunday, Hillary Clinton took a break from the campaign trail to meet with city leaders and residents of Flint, Michigan. Flint has been in the news for its struggle with poor water quality. During a town hall held at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton spoke saying that what is happening in Flint is “immoral.” State officials have been criticized for being slow to act, but Clinton has brought up the struggle of Flint residents several times during the Democratic debates and has sent advisers to the city to keep up to date. Clinton praised Mayor Karen Weaver for her work to help her citizens, and urged Congress to pass a $200 million bill to upgrade the city’s crumbling infrastructure. Hillary Goes to the Ground Game in New Hampshire

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton remained in New Hampshire where she attended a number of Get Out the Vote rallies, but Clinton also took the ground and knocked on doors in Manchester. She stopped at a number of houses and visited with local residents. Clinton is behind in the New Hampshire primary polls, but she has not given up on the state. In addition to her efforts, a number of other politicians were in the state campaigning on her behalf including former Secretary of State Madeleline Albright, Senator Al Franken, and Senator Cory Booker.

Clinton attended three rallies in New Hampshire on Saturday. The events in Concord and Portsmouth were typical events during which Clinton spoke to the crowd before taking questions from the audience. However, the event she held at New England College in Henniker was different in that the campaign challenged Bernie Sanders supports to attend the town hall event. She was asked tough questions about her ties to Wall Street, and she was able to defend herself in person. It was an interesting strategy that might earn her some respect and support. Clinton in New Hampshire – Day 3

On Saturday, Hillary Rodham Clinton wrapped up her trip to New Hampshire by speaking at a Democratic Party Convention in Manchester. Following speeches by fellow Democratic presidential candidates Lincoln Chafee, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders, she fired up a crowd of over 4,000 by attacking her Republican rivals and addressing a number of key elements of her platform including the minimum wage, college affordability, and heath care. She incorporated the stories of New Hampshire voters that she has met during her campaign to illustrate how the points of her platform would benefit every American. Clinton Returns to Iowa – Day 2

Hillary Rodham Clinton concluded her second trip to Iowa today in Cedar Falls. Clinton’s primary focus today was small businesses, and she took part in a discussion with small business owners and local residents. As with her first trip to Iowa a few weeks ago, Clinton listened as small business owners talked about their struggles. She made it clear that she was in favor of making small business ownership easier saying, “I want to be the small-business president.” She outlined four areas she intends to turn her focus in assisting small business owners: reducing bureaucratic processes, simplifying the tax code, new tax credits, and access to financing.

After the roundtable discussion, Clinton took questions from reporters. She has been criticized for not talking to the press lately. Media outlets reported that it had been 28 days since Clinton last took a question from a reporter. Following the event, she answered questions from the media, which can be seen in the video below.

After leaving Cedar Rapids, Clinton made an unannounced stop in Independence, Iowa where she visited a number of small businesses.
