Clinton Speaks at Event Honoring Senator Harry Reid

Hillary Clinton returned to Washington, DC to attend an event honoring retiring Nevada Senator Harry Reid. A number of people spoke at the event including Clinton. During her speech, Clinton spoke about Reid’s career in the Senate. She also spoke about the dangers of fake news following a shooting that took place following a fake news story. She said, “It’s now clear that so-called fake news can have real-world consequences. This isn’t about politics or partisanship. Lives are at risk, lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days, to do their jobs, contribute to their communities.” Clinton was also present as Reid’s official portrait was unveiled. Clinton Speaks at the West Caucus Dinner

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton appeared at the West Caucus Dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada with the other Democratic presidential candidates, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders. Each of the candidates gave a speech, and Clinton focused on the upcoming primary and and argued that she is the only one of the three Democratic candidates that can beat the Republicans in November. She said, “I am proud to be running in a Democratic primary with my opponents. They have a lot of good ideas and we share a lot of the same values. But your choice in the caucus really matters. On February 20th you will begin the process of choosing a president who has what it takes to stand up to the Republicans, to make a real difference for American families.” A full video from the event is below and is bookmarked at Clinton’s speech.

While in Las Vegas, Clinton also took some time to visit the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. She also spoke with the Las Vegas Sun about a variety of topics including solar energy, the minimum wage, and nuclear waste disposal. The full interview can be read HERE.

Clinton Visits Brooklyn Headquarters

This past week, Hillary Rodham Clinton visited New York City and, for the first time since announcing her presidential ambitions, visited her headquarters in Brooklyn. Clinton began her visit to NYC on Wednesday night with a fundraiser hosted by Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid. The event was attended by a number of celebrities and donors including Beyoncé.

On Thursday, Clinton visited Brooklyn where she spoke with people walking through the streets, and she stopped at several local stores including a pizza shop and toy store. The main reason for her visit to Brooklyn was to spend time with volunteers and employees at her campaign headquarters.

This week, Clinton is scheduled to visit Iowa, Chicago, and New Hampshire. She will begin the week in Iowa tomorrow and Tuesday.
