Bill, Chelsea Campaign for Hillary

On Wednesday, both Bill and Chelsea Clinton were on the campaign trail for Hillary Clinton. In Las Vegas, Nevada, Bill spoke for over half an hour about a wide variety of topics including Hillary’s email scandal, Donald Trump’s immigration proposals, and Hillary’s plan to create millions of jobs across the country. Bill also addressed his wife’s health issues saying, “She’s feeling great, and I think she’ll be back out there tomorrow [Thursday in North Carolina]. It’s a crazy time we live in, you know, when people think there’s something unusual about getting the flu. Last time I checked, millions of people were getting it every year.” A video of Bill’s speech is below.

Chelsea campaigned for Hillary today in North Carolina and Virginia. Wrapping up a two-day visit to North Carolina, Chelsea began in Raleigh where she took part in a panel of local leaders. She spoke about the importance of North Carolina in the November election and how her mother is relying on them to get out and vote. Then, in Carrboro, Chelsea spoke at a voter registration outside the local Democratic Party headquarters. She, again, spoke about the importance of voting in the November election.

She then tour a pre-k center before speaking at an organizing event in Roanoke, Virginia. Chelsea spoke about her mother’s college affordability plan which would reduce the amount of debt owed by those currently paying on student loans and ensure that future students, with family incomes of under $125,000, can finish college debt free. Chelsea said that Hillary wants to help young people build a future and reducing college debt is a big part of that plan. “We have to make investments in our young people from the beginning and then, all the way through,” she said. Meanwhile, a fundraiser was held in Washington, DC on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with Senator Debbie Stabenow, Senator Sherrod Brown, Senator Joe Donnelly, Senator Heidi Heitkamp, and Senator Tammy Baldwin.

Hillary Clinton Discusses Economic Plan in North Carolina

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton followed up her economic speech on Tuesday with an event in Raleigh, North Carolina. In a second powerful speech on the economy, Clinton said that the country is stronger when the economy works for everyone, and she acknowledged that parts of the system are broken. She outlined five key areas of the economy that she wants to focus on to ensure that the economy works for everyone. The five goals she has set for her presidency are (full details are available on The Briefing):

1. Break Through Washington Gridlock to Make the Boldest Investment in Good-Paying Jobs Since World War II
2. Make Debt Free College Available to All Americans
3. Rewrite the Rules to Ensure That Workers Share in the Profits They Help Create
4. Ensure That Those at the Top Pay Their Fair Share
5. Put Families First by Matching Our Policies to How Families Live, Learn, and Work in the 21st Century Economy

Clinton contrasted her plans with those of Republican Donald Trump. She said, “Compare what I am proposing to what we hear from Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed king of debt. No credible plans for rebuilding our infrastructure, apart from his wall. No real plan for creating jobs.” She did not offer as many attacks on Trump and his businesses as she did in yesterday’s speech, but she made it clear that she is focused on making the economy work for everyone while arguing that Trump will destroy it. Bill, Chelsea Among Those Campaigning for Hillary Today

On Monday, a number of campaign events and fundraisers were held in support of Hillary Clinton. In North Carolina, Bill Clinton attended three organizing events in preparation for the state’s primary on March 15. Hosting events in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Charlotte, Bill spoke about his wife’s experience and her career as a change maker. At each of the events, he spoke about a variety of topics including higher education, student debt, heath care, and the economy. He took shots at both the Republican presidential candidates and Hillary’s Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, though he did not mention any of them by name. He asked supports to vote for Hillary in the upcoming primary because “this is a big election.” Videos from the events in Raleigh and Charlotte are below.

Chelsea was in Michigan campaigning for her mother before tomorrow’s primary. Appearing at events in Detroit, East Lansing, and Grand Rapids, Chelsea spoke about her mother’s experience and plans to move the country forward. In Detroit, Chelsea attended a college affordability round table at Wayne State University. She spoke about Hillary’s plan to make college more affordable for those who cannot pay for tuition. She drew a distinction between Hillary’s plan and that of Sanders saying, “Families who have done well in our country should still continue to pay tuition for their students to go to college. For those who haven’t yet done well yet, for lower-class families, even middle-class families, their children should be able to go to public universities tuition-free. Everyone should be able to graduate debt-free.” Sanders’ plan calls for everyone to get free tuition, regardless of income level.

A number of other events took place across the world today in support of Hillary and Hillary for America. In London, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright attended two fundraisers which were attended by American citizens living abroad. Meanwhile, back in Michigan, Senior Policy Advisor Jake Sullivan attended a fundraiser in Birmingham. The final event of the day was a virtual fundraiser hosted by Former Under Secretary of State Bob Hormats. The topic of conversation for the virtual gathering was Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment.

Clinton Attends Pennsylvania and North Carolina Fundraisers

On Wednesday, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended private fundraisers in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. She began by visiting a private fundraiser at the home of Cindy Shapira in Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania. Shapira is a activist and the wife of, David Shapira, the former CEO of the Giant Eagle grocery chain.

After leaving Pennsylvania, Clinton went to North Carolina where she attended a fundraiser hosted by George and Christine Reddin in Raleigh. Among those attending the event were former Governors Jim Hun and Bev Perdue and former Senator Kay Hagan. Both events were closed to the press, so no videos or details are available.
