Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Colorado

Bill Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton today in Colorado. At his first event, Bill spoke to a group of supporters at Union Depot in Pueblo. He outlined key points of Hillary’s platform including her plans to create jobs and build and economy that works for everyone. Throughout his speech, Bill referred to Donald Trump, but never mentioned him by name. He criticized his temperament and lack of experience. He concluded the event by asking everyone to vote for Clinton on Tuesday saying, “If the people vote, she’ll win. I believe she’ll be the first woman president but even those things are not as important as what it will mean for you.”

He then spoke at the EXDO Event Center in Denver where he covered a number of the same topics as in Pueblo including her plans to make college more affordable and pass comprehensive immigration reform. The focus of Bill’s speech was about the type of America we want to build for future generations. Do we want a president who looks to the past or one who plans for the future. “This is a change election — I do agree with her opponent on that. The question is: Are you going to change forward, to build on what we are doing right?  … Or are you going to change backward and go back to trickle down economics on steroids?,” he said. He concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday.

At his final stop of the day in Fort Collins, Bill focused on unity and how Hillary’s plans ensure that Americans are united in enjoying the prosperity offered in the United States. Unlike her opponent who is focused on dividing people to gain votes, Bill argued that Hillary aims to create a stronger and more united country. He urged everyone to vote for Hillary on Tuesday saying, “We’re the longest-lasting democracy in human history and that’s for a reason: We keep making progress toward our more perfect union.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

Hillary’s Plan: The Economy

Under Clinton, Economy is “Stronger Together.”  Under Trump, Economy is “Billionaires First.”

Hillary Clinton believes our economy is stronger when we grow together. She’s put forward a comprehensive agenda to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top — fighting for the largest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II, debt-free college, profit-sharing, tax fairness, and family-friendly policies like paid leave. Donald Trump, on the other hand, has put forward an agenda that showers billionaires and millionaires like himself with trillions in tax breaks and new loopholes, recklessly exploding the deficit while actually raising taxes on millions of middle-class families.

When John McCain’s former economic advisor studied the two plans, he actually calculated that under Hillary’s plans the economy would create 10.4 million jobs in her first term alone—while Trump’s plans would result in a “lengthy recession” and a loss of 3.4 million jobs.

*Trump has outsourced his products to at least 12 countries and routinely picks Chinese steel over U.S. manufacturers.

Hillary Clinton believes we need to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top.  As president, Clinton will:

• Break through Washington gridlock to make the boldest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II
• Make debt-free college available to all Americans
• Rewrite the rules to ensure that workers share in the profits they help create
• Ensure that those at the top pay their fair share
• Put families first by matching our policies to how families live, learn, and work in the 21st century economy

Trump’s reckless agenda would shower billionaires and millionaires like himself with trillions in tax breaks and new loopholes, recklessly exploding the deficit while actually raising taxes on millions of middle-class families. Trump will:

• Enact a massive backdoor tax cut for billionaires and millionaires like himself, also known as “The Trump Loophole.”
• Widen the “carried interest” loophole by slashing tax rates on partnerships, including hedge funds and private equity firms.
• Get rid of the Wall Street reforms enacted after the recent crash, removing protections for consumers.
• Eliminate the estate tax, resulting in a $4 billion tax cut for his family alone — while giving 99.8% of Americans nothing.
• Actually raising taxes on millions of middle-class families.

Run up the national debt by nearly $21 trillion over 20 years.

Tim Kaine, Anne Holton Campaign for Hillary

Tim Kaine attended three campaign events on Wednesday. The first two events were in Ohio, and he began by speaking at a canvass kick-off event in Upper Arlington. Kaine spoke about the importance of Ohio in this election and urged supporters and volunteers to canvass for Hillary Clinton. “Donald Trump cannot be president without Ohio. That means you’ve got this election right in the palm of your hands, Ohio,” he said. Kaine wrapped up by urging everyone to vote on November 8th. A video form the event is below.

Kaine then traveled to Springfield where he spoke to a crowd of supporters about the importance of 2016 election and Clinton’s plans to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to prosper in America. As in Upper Arlington, he spoke about the importance of Ohio and urged voters to reject the hateful rhetoric spread by the Trump campaign. Kaine also went after Trump for comments he made about women saying, “To just say this is the way men are, this is the real Donald Trump. But, this isn’t real men, folks.” A video from the Springfield event is below.

Kaine’s final event of the day was in Asheville, North Carolina where he spoke to supporters on the campus of the University of North Carolina-Asheville. Kaine attacked Trump for spreading the idea that the American democracy is rigged. Now (Trump) is attacking American democracy itself. Donald Trump is now perpertrating the lie that, ‘Oh the election is all set against me.’ We know what’s going on: He’s losing. Donald Trump has never been willing to take responsibility for anything so it’s not like he’s going to stand up and say, ‘Well, I lost. I guess must have run a divisive campaign.’ … If he loses, it’s going to be somebody else’s fault and so he’s he’s going around saying the election’s set against him.” Watch a video of the rally below.

Anne Holton, Kaine’s wife, was in Iowa where she held events in four cities. Her first event was in Des Moines where she held a discussion with local educators and parents about bullying in schools. Holton then spoke at early voting events in Ottumwa and Burlington. At each event, she encouraged everyone to get out and vote on, or before, election day. Holton’s final Iowa event was in Davenport where she attended a debate watch party with a group of supporters. Full coverage from today’s Iowa events will be posted when/if available.

Hillary for America Releases New Campaign Ads

Hillary for America has released a series of new campaign ads focused on Republican Donald Trump and the importance of the 2016 election. The first ad was posted on Twitter and is titled “America’s Bully.” The video outlines Trump’s bully tactics and features Tomas Wilson, who played Biff Tannen in Back to the Future and other movies bullies. The second video features Khizr Khan, father of Captain Humayun Khan, who tragically lost his life in Iraq while saving every member of his unit. The next video is the story of Ryan and his friendship with Hillary Clinton. The two met during a Congressional hearing on health care in 1994. Next is a video about Martha and Sara, a mother and daughter who were affected by Clinton’s efforts to pass the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Then, HFA released a video titled “A Place for Everyone” that features a voice over by Clinton explaining that the United States is still a place where everyone can prosper. Next, is a video from The Briefing reviewing Trump’s dangerous policies before Wednesday’s debate, then a video urging Americans to Google Trump’s claims. The next video features The Good Wife actor Josh Charles and encourages lawyers and law students to get involved in the campaign. The final video is a Spanish language video outlining the importance of the election to those in the Latino community.

Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in New Hampshire

Bill Clinton was in New Hampshire on Monday where he spoke at two events on behalf of Hillary Clinton. His first event was in Hanover on the campus of Dartmouth College where he focused on the positive things have happened in the United States over the last eight years. While he admitted that there is still progress to be made, he believes that Hillary has the plans to continue economic growth and ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prosper in America. He contrasted the message of Hillary’s campaign with that of Republican Donald Trump’s saying that “Strong Together” is far more positive then “Make America Great Again.” Bill wrapped up the event by talking about New Hampshire’s role in the election and encouraging everyone to vote on November 8th. In Keene, Bill spoke on the campus of Keene State College and largely focused on the same themes as he did in Hanover. He urged voters to remain optimistic about America’s future and elect someone who is optimistic as well. “You cannot give this country’s future away to people who think anger is better than answers, that resentment is much better than empowerment, that endless conflict is better than cooperation,” he said of Trump. Bill then looked to after the election and called for unity saying, “One of the things I think we have to do when this election is over — every one of us, each in our own way — is not treat the people on the other side the way they and their candidate have treated us. Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Ohio

Hillary Clinton hit the campaign trail today in Ohio holding two events in the state. Her first event was in Toledo where she focused on her plans to help the middle class. She covered a number of her major policy proposals including her plans to boost American manufacturing, invest in and improve the country’s infrastructure, and create good paying jobs. During the event, Clinton also attacked Donald Trump for the recent revelation that he may not have paid income taxes for nearly two decades. She said, “Trump’s campaign is bragging that not paying taxes makes him a genius. What kind of genius loses $1 billion in a single year?” She pointed out that Trump’s plan would cut taxes for himself even more at the expense of working families. Clinton then traveled to Akron where she continued to focus on the economy and her plans to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to prosper in America. She largely focused on the same big points she hit on in Toledo, but she also spoke about her plans to raise the minimum wage, ensure equal pay for women, and cap the maximum out of pocket expenses for childcare. Clinton continued her assault on Trump’s tax records saying that he has certainly benefited from the tax code, but he has not contributed to the United States. Clinton is likely to continue to criticize Trump’s tax returns as the two prepare for their next debate next week. A video from the Akron event is below.

Hillary Clinton Unveils Environmental, Immigration Plan Details

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton delivered two major speeches during which she outlined her plans for environmental action and her proposal to create a Department of Immigrant Affairs to help immigrants become American citizens. This morning, Clinton was endorsed by the New York State Immigrant Action Fund, and Clinton attended a round table event during which she discussed her plans for immigration reform. She criticized Republican Donald Trump for his anti-immigration rhetoric and vowed to help immigrants become American citizens. During her remarks, she proposed the introduction of a Department of Immigrant Affairs that would work at all levels of government to assist immigrants and refugees as they settle in the United States.

In the afternoon, Clinton spoke at the National Action Network Convention where she was introduced by Rev. Al Sharpton. Clinton introduced her plan for environmental and climate justice which is a small part of her larger Breaking Every Barrier agenda. The plan not only includes fighting climate change, but eliminating lead as a public health threat. The main points of the plan include:

• Eliminating lead as a major public heath threat within five years
• Protesting public heath and safety by modernizing drinking and wastewater systems
• Prosecuting criminal and civil violations that expose communities to environmental harm and work with Congress to strengthen public health protections in our existing laws
• Creating new economic opportunity through brownfield clean-up and redevelopment
• Reducing urban air pollution by investing in clean power and transportation
• Broadening the clean energy economy, build career opportunities, and combat energy poverty by expanding solar and energy efficiency in low-income communities and communities of color
• Protecting communities from the impacts of climate change by investing in resilient infrastructure
• Establishing an Environmental and Climate Justice Task Force to make environmental and climate justice, including cumulative impacts, an integral part of federal decision-making

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event in the Bronx. During the event, she spoke about a variety of topics including working for New York as senator, improving education, building upon the progress made in heath care, and ensuring that all Americans have an opportunity to prosper. She took the time to point out the differences between her and her Republican rivals, especially front-runner Donald Trump. She said, “He wants to build walls; I want to build bridges.” Clinton went on to ask for everyone’s support during next week’s primary. A video from the event is below.

Bill Clinton Campaigns in Harlem, Queens

On Sunday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Harlem and Queens. He began in Harlem this morning where he attended Sunday services at three churches. The three churches that he spoke at were: Abyssinian Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church, and Mount Neboh Baptist Church. At each church, Bill was introduced by Rep. Charles Rangel, and she spoke about Hillary’s plans to increase minimum wage and opportunities for everyone across the country.

Bill then spoke at an organizing events at the New York Hall of Science in Queens and the John John Jay College in New York City. At both events, he spoke about Hillary’s plans to increase incomes and continue building on the economy so everyone can prosper. He also spoke about criminal justice reform and referenced the death of Eric Garner. Garner was selling cigarettes in New York City and died when he was put in a choke hold by police. Bill said, “I say that because they may not have intended to kill that man—they violated procedural rules with a chokehold with a very heavy guy. People do stuff like that when they’re scared, when they’re alienated, when they feel like there’s this vast divide—and we have to get rid of that.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

A number of fundraisers were held today on behalf of Hillary for America. In Washington, DC, Campaign Chair John Podesta attended an event that included Senior Policy Advisor Maya Harris. The event was hosted by Maddy Beckwith, Ezekiel Emanuel, Terry Lierman, Tony Podesta, Chris Putala, and Oscar Ramirez. A fundraiser was also held in Villanova, Pennsylvania. The event included a conversation with Valerie Plame and was hosted by Stella M. Tsai and Jannie K. Lau. The final event was a virtual conversation with Foreign Policy Advisor Laura Rosenberger for American citizens living in São Paulo, Brazil.
