Hillary Clinton Endorsed by The Washington Post

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton earned the endorsement of The Washington Post. The paper’s editorial board said that they did not reach their decision to back Clinton simply because Donald Trump should not be president, but because she has the experience and knowledge to be president. It is that experience that led the board to conclude, “That presages what Americans might reasonably expect of a Clinton presidency: seriousness of purpose and relentless commitment, even in the face of great obstacles, to achievements in the public interest. We believe that Ms. Clinton will prove a worthy example to girls who celebrate the election of America’s first female president. We believe, too, that anyone who votes for her will be able to look back, four years from now, with pride in that decision.” Read the paper’s full endorsement HERE.

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton received the endorsement of The Atlantic magazine. While it is not the first time the magazine has endorsed a presidential candidate, it is only the third time in the publications history that it has done so. In their op-ed, the magazine’s editorial board urges voters to choose Clinton over Republican Donald Trump. Citing Clinton’s temperament and experience in the public sphere, they fully endorsed Clinton for president. Read their full op-ed HERE, and a excerpt is below:

“Hillary Rodham Clinton has more than earned, through her service to the country as first lady, as a senator from New York, and as secretary of state, the right to be taken seriously as a White House contender. She has flaws (some legitimately troubling, some exaggerated by her opponents), but she is among the most prepared candidates ever to seek the presidency. We are confident that she understands the role of the United States in the world; we have no doubt that she will apply herself assiduously to the problems confronting this country; and she has demonstrated an aptitude for analysis and hard work.”

Clinton Addresses Congressional Black Caucus Foundation

90

On Saturday evening, Hillary Clinton spoke at the annual Congressional Black Caucus Foundation gala in Washington, DC. During her speech, Clinton vowed to work for everyone and ensure that the progress stated by President Barack Obama continues. She then ripped Donald Trump for his “dangerous and divisive vision” for the United States. She said that she is the best candidate for the presidency because she has real plans to continue growth for everyone. Clinton said, “We need ideas not insults, real plans to help struggling Americans in communities that have been left out and left behind, not prejudice and paranoia. We can’t let Barack Obama’s legacy fall into the hands of someone who doesn’t understand that, whose dangerous and divisive vision for our country will drag us backwards.” A video of Clinton’s speech is below.
