On Tuesday, Senator Elizabeth Warren campaigned in Raleigh, North Carolina on behalf of Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senate candidate Deborah Ross. Warren spoke about Clinton’s presidential platform and the importance of electing Democrats down ballot such as Ross to ensure that Clinton’s plans to help everyday Americans are carried out. During her speech, Warren also attacked Donald Trump for his rhetoric and comments about women. She concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote for Clinton and Ross so we can continue to make progress in America. Watch a video of Warren’s speech below.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, Anne Holton spoke with volunteers at a phone bank event before heading to Henderson for an education roundtable. The roundtable discussion was held at Nevada State College and included a discussion about both early childhood education and higher education. Holton spoke about Clinton’s plans to expand preschool and head start. She also discussed Clinton’s proposal to make college more affordable for those repaying student loans and for future students. Meanwhile, two fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in New York City and was billed as “Hill’s Kitchen: A Tasting Event” with Tim Kaine. In Denver, Colorado, Chris Sacca, Founder and Chairman Lowercase Capital and star of ABC’s Shark Tank hosted an event at Galvanize.
This weekend, Hillary Clinton received the endorsement of four major prominent newspapers from across the country. The first was Nebraska’s Omaha World-Herald, the first time the paper has endorsed a Democrat since President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1932. The paper’s editorial board says that while Clinton has political faults, she is by far more qualified than Republican Donald Trump. The board concludes, “Clinton’s legislative experience and decades of political involvement — as first lady of Arkansas, first lady of the United States, U.S. senator from New York, secretary of state and two-time presidential candidate — make her the better prepared of the two major candidates for the office of president of the United States.” Read the full endorsement HERE.
The Wisconsin State Journal also published their endorsement of Clinton concluding that the country cannot risk a Trump presidency. The paper’s board said, “Trump’s scandal-a-day campaign has shown he would distract, isolate and embarrass our nation. The world doesn’t need a United States in retreat, nor a stark reset of America’s politics and international posture. The world needs a U.S. president who can actually lead. Clinton is that leader, and the world needs America to get this right.” Read the full article HERE.
Clinton has also earned the endorsement of the New Orleans newspaper The Times-Picayune. The paper’s editorial board says that Clinton is the better choice for New Orleans and Louisiana saying, “As for which candidate is better for Louisiana, there is no contest. Mrs. Clinton is committed to investments in infrastructure, including ports, that would benefit our state. She also wants to offer preschool to every 4-year-old, something that fits Louisiana’s goal of expanding and improving the quality of early childhood education. But for New Orleanians, perhaps the most compelling contrast between Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton is his intolerance and her inclusiveness. New Orleans has diversity in its DNA. A president who routinely degrades African-Americans, Hispanics, Muslims and women could not, and would not, represent us.” Click HERE to read the full endorsement.
In Iowa, The Des Moines Register’s editorial board asked what message Americas wanted to send to a ever interested global community. Do we want to pick the candidate that has run a divisive campaign or one that still believes in the promise of America? The board believes it is important that the American citizens elect a leader that represents our values, and for them that is Clinton. They conclude, “On Election Day, all of us share the privilege and responsibility of protecting the principles on which this country was founded and for which so many others have died: justice, liberty, equality and opportunity for all. In this particular election, only one of the two major-party candidates stands prepared to honor America and uphold its highest ideals. Thursday was a full day on the campaign trail with ten events being held on behalf of Hillary Clinton across the country and around the world. Clinton’s running mate, Time Kaine, held a rally in Reno, Nevada where he spoke to supporters at the University of Nevada Reno. During his speech, Kaine spoke about a variety of Clinton’s proposals including her plans to combat climate change, reduce the cost of higher education, equal rights for women and members of the LGBTQ community, and paid leave. As he spoke, Kaine compared Clinton’s views with those of Donald Trump saying that he cannot be trusted. “People who trust Trump tend to get hurt by Trump,” he said. Kaine’s wife, Anne Holton, was in Ohio where she took part in four events. Holton began in Trotwood where she held a discussion on the topic of Veterans and Military Families. She spoke about Clinton’s plans to improve the Department of Veterans Affairs and ensure that military families were cared for while their loved one serves their country. In Columbus, Holton focused on early childhood education during a visit to Childhood League Center. Holton, the former Secretary of Education for Virginia, spent time with a preschool class and spoke with educators. At Holton’s final events of the day, in Delaware and Zanesville, she spoke with supporters about a number of Clinton’s platform points. Videos from the events will be added when/if available.
Chelsea Clinton attended events in Ohio and Michigan. In Toledo, Ohio, Chelsea spoke to a group of students and supporters on the campus of the University of Toledo. She spoke about a number of mother’s proposals, but focused more on her plans to reduce the cost of higher education and reduce the debt of those who have graduated from college. Chelsea said that Hillary’s plans are important because, “No one should have to make a professional choice to service debt.” Following her speech, Chelsea stopped by the local Hillary for America office in Toledo where she thanked volunteers for their hard work.
Chelsea then traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a Women for Hillary event. During her speech, Chelsea focused on women and family issues saying, “My mom understands that women’s issues aren’t just women’s issues; they’re family issues and economic issues. And she understands that economic issues aren’t just economic issues, they’re also women’s issues and family issues.” Chelsea then traveled to Lansing where she spoke at a Students for Hillary event at Michigan State University. She spoke about the Hillary’s plan to help college students and reduce student debt. Following her speech, Chelsea answered questions from those in attendance. Meanwhile, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America in Vienna, Austria. The event was only open to American citizens and featured a conversation with William C. Eacho, former United States Ambassador to Austria (2009 – 2013).
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton held three events in Kentucky while citizens of neighboring West Virginia voted in their Democratic primary. Clinton’s first event was in Lexington where she laid out a new plan to help parents with the rising costs of child care. Speaking at a roundtable event, Clinton outlined the plan and spoke with care providers and parents about the importance of child care and the struggle for many families to find and afford adequate care. The bullet points of the plan includes:
Improve the quality of care by giving a RAISE (Respect And Increased Salaries for Early Childhood Educators) to America’s child care workforce
Provide home visiting services for more than 2 million parents and children in the next 10 years
Support young parents as the balance family responsibilities and their careers
Award scholarships of up to $1,500 per year to as many as one million student parents
Increase access to child care on college campuses by serving an additional 250,000 children
Doubling federal investment in high quality early learning programs
Making preschool universal for every 4-year old in America
Proving working parents paid time off to care for a new baby

Clinton then traveled to Louisville where she spoke at a rally. During her speech, Clinton focused on the economy and her plans to raise incomes and create new jobs. She also spoke about a number of other platform points before turning her attention to local politics and her Republican opposition. She criticized Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin for his plans to scrap the state’s health insurance exchanges and the state’s expansion of medicaid, both of which were provided as a result of the Affordable Care Act. Clinton then turned her attention to Republicans and their endless attacks on her career saying, “The right wing never gives up attacking me. I think they are going to throw everything but the kitchen sink at me…I’ve got a message for them. They’ve done it for 25 years and I’m still standing.” A video from the event will be posted when/if available.
In the evening, Clinton spoke at a second organizing event in Louisville. During her speech at Louisville Slugger Field, Clinton took a number of shots at presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and his disparaging comments about women and minorities. She said, “You could not imagine a more different vision for our country than the one between our side, of Democrats for progress, for prosperity, for fairness and opportunity than the presumptive nominee on the Republican side.” Clinton focused on her plans to continue the progress of President Barack Obama’s administration and ensure that people have access to health care and affordable higher education. On Thursday, Chelsea Clinton returned to the campaign trial for Hillary Clinton. She attended an event in Jacksonville, Florida focused on early childhood education. During the event, she said that Hillary had a plan to expand head start and preschool programs across the country. She said, “It’s so important we invest in and nurture the spirits and the brains of the children around us.” At the close of the event, Chelsea took questions from the crowd, both the adults and children. In Seattle, Washington, Olympic Figure Skater Michelle Kwan was on the campaign trail for Hillary as well. She has attended events for Hillary for America in the past, and today she attended two fundraisers. The first was an event hosted by Debadutta Dash. The second fundraiser was hosted by Mimi Gan and Everett Billingsea, Former Ambassador Gary Locke, Virginia Anderson, and Martha Choe.
Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to Nevada to attend two major campaign events. Her first event was in Las Vegas where she spoke to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Office (NALEO). Clinton outlined the four fights of her campaign, and focused specifically on expanding funding for preschool programs. She said, “All of our kids need the opportunity to get off the to the best possible start, but too many children are getting behind.”
Clinton also spoke about voter rights and called for universal voter registration saying, “We should be making it easier to vote, not putting up barriers that disempower and disenfranchise Americans. Who are those barriers aimed at: young people, poor people and people of color.” She also focused on immigration, saying that if Congress refused to act on immigration, she would further expand the executive orders President Barack Obama has enacted. She also vowed to limit the the number of deportations, and her goal is comprehensive immigration reform.
In Reno, Clinton hosted a roundtable with a number of veterans. She spoke about her plans to maintain the world’s most powerful military. However, her primary concern is the struggles of veterans returning from combat and the delay of Veterans Affairs providing care. Clinton said veteran care is not a partisan issue, “No matter what we disagree on, we must agree on taking care of our vets.”

Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to the Granite State on Monday where she made three stops: Rochester, Concord, and Manchester. In Manchester this evening, Clinton attended a Flag Day dinner, but the main two events took place earlier in the day. In Rochester, she attended an early childhood education summit at the YMCA where she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and her plan to provide universal preschool across the country. Before leaving the YMCA, Clinton took time to read a book to the children.
In Concord, Clinton held a campaign rally where she made it clear that her campaign was not about her husband, former President Bill Clinton, or President Barack Obama. She is running as herself. She said, “I will do what works … and I will be laying out policies that will give you a very clear idea of the direction I will head.” She reiterated the four fights that she spoke first about at the campaign rally held in New York on Saturday.

In her first official campaign rally held at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island in New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined what she called the “four fights” of her campaign. Throughout the 45 minute speech, Clinton made references to her experience as a lawyer, Senator, Secretary of State, and as a mother and grandmother. The theme of the speech was the prosperity of Americans, and she shared stories from people she has met and her mother to make her points. In her speech, Clinton also criticized Republicans for not looking forward and believing too much in “yesterday.” She vowed to fight for everyday Americans and prepare the United States for the future.
The key to her speech was the “four fights.” She outlined what those will be, but said that said will outline specific policy changes in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, her vision is clearly outlined by the four fights:
Economy: Clinton outlined a number of changes that would serve to strengthen the economy including strengthening the middle class, increasing the minimum wage, providing equal pay for women, making it illegal to discriminate against LBGT workers, rewriting the tax code, and focusing on lifelong learning that will allow works to adapt to a changing workplace. She also called for more affordable college for everyone and improving the infrastructure by creating an infrastructure bank that would sell bonds to help fund improvements roads, bridges, power grids, and broadband Internet. She called for protecting the environment by investing in clean energy and ending the denial of climate change. All these changes, which she will continue to outline in the coming weeks, will create jobs and improve the lives of American workers.
Family: Families have struggled since the recession and Clinton believes that more attention needs to be paid to helping families by guaranteeing paid sick days, paid family leave, pre-school and child care. She also wants to focus on the uneven incarceration polices and provide help to those suffering with mental health issues and addiction.
America’s Leadership: America has long been the leader in the world, but for America to maintain its leadership and influence, Clinton argues that we have not only show strength in our military, but we have to create economic and diplomatic partnerships across the globe. At the same time, we have to stand up to our adversaries and stand by our allies. We need to be better prepared against cyber attacks and provide better services to our veterans after they have served our country.
Governmental Reform: Clinton argued that now is the time to take government out of corporate hands and back into the hands of Americans. She called for stopping the flow of unaccountable campaign funds, undoing Citizens United, and improving government technology so it is more open to the pubic. She also called for improvements to voting including universal registration, longer early voting periods, and ensuring that voting rights are protected despite the Supreme Court’s recent decision.
Clinton’s speech is only the beginning of the next phase of her campaign. Over the coming weeks, Clinton will travel across the country to spread her message and continue to flesh out her campaign platform.
