Kaine, Holton Campaign in Iowa

On Monday, Tim Kaine and his wife Anne Holton campaigned in Iowa. Kaine and Holton appeared together at an event on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames. During his speech to students and supporters, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to reduce the cost of higher education for students and reduce the debt of those who have already completed their education. He also spoke about her plans to expand the job market and increase the minimum wage. A video from Kaine’s speech will be added when/if available.

Holton then attended two additional events in Iowa. The first is a New College Compact discussion in Cedar Falls where she spoke with students about Clinton’s plans to reduce the cost of higher education and ensure that students can graduate free from debt. Holton then attended a phone bank kickoff event in Cedar Rapids where she spoke with volunteers and was even reunited with her college roommate, Janice Weiner. In New York City, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event was tailored toward the arts community and featured a conversation with De’Ara Balenger, HFA Director of Engagement.

Bill, Chelsea Campaign in SC

On the eve of the South Carolina primary, Bill and Chelsea Clinton were in the state supporting Hillary Clinton. Bill gave speeches at two Get Out the Vote events. At each event, in Aiken and Bluffton, Bill spoke about Hillary’s experience and background. He also focused on her plans for the future including her proposed updates to heath care and equal pay for women. He said, “She’s for equal pay and paid leave because only seven countries of the world, that don’t grant any paid leave. Every man in America should be for equal pay, because when you put more women in the workforce and the economy grows and you have more money.” He urged those in attendance to vote in tomorrow’s primary and support Hillary.

Meanwhile, in Charleston, Chelsea visited with patience and families at the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital. She then went to Columbia where she met with local volunteers at a phone bank, then held a town hall event and a Get Out the Vote event. Chelsea spoke about her mother’s platform and stressed the importance of the 2016 race, and she asked voters to support Hillary in tomorrow’s primary.

A fundraiser in support of Hillary for America was also held today in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. The fundraiser was hosted by Jim McGovern, John Mahoney, Mike Moore, Candy Mero Carlson, Gerry D’Amico, Kate Donaghue, Jamie Hoag, Steve Kerrigan, Kim Long, and Jason Palitsch. Speaking at the event was former Massachusetts Representative, Barney Frank.

Democrats and Celebrities in Iowa to Support Hillary Clinton

As the Iowa Caucuses near, Hillary Clinton and Hillary for America are hitting Iowa hard with high profile Democrats and celebrities. This weekend, a number of high profile supporters will be meeting with volunteers and supporters alike. Those in Iowa this weekend include New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, actor Tony Goldwyn, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and actress Jamie Lee Curtis. You can also find out more information about all of Hillary for America’s events and find events near you at hillaryclinton.com/events.

We will not writing posts for all these events because many of them take place at Hillary for America offices across the state and are meant to rally the volunteers who are calling voters and knocking on doors in support of Hillary. The focus of this site remains highlighting the events attended by Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea. However, we will list as many events as possible on the Scheduled Events page. I apologize in advance, because as more and more events held by Clinton supporters take place, I am likely to leave some out.
