Senator Bernie Sanders held a Get Out the Vote Rally today in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event is the first in a series of rallies that will be held in the state by Hillary for America. During the event on the campus of Northern Arizona University, Sanders spoke about the importance of electing Hillary Clinton in a few weeks. He also spoke about a number of her platform points, including her plan to ensure that college students are able to graduate debt free. Sanders then urged the students to get out and vote on November 8th. A video from the rally is below.
Meanwhile, three fundraisers where held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in Boston, Massachusetts and featured a conversation with Padma Lakshmi. The next event was in Brooklyn, New York and featured a number of local Democratic Party officials including Marlon Marshall, Director of State Campaigns and Political Engagement, Basil Smikle, Executive Director of the New York State Democratic Party, and Julissa Ferreras, New York City Council Member. The final event was in West Hollywood, California and included President Obama’s former speechwriter Jon Favreau. The event also included a special performance by Moby.
In the final weeks before Election Day, Hillary for America is launching the Love Trumps Hate Performance series to get out the vote across the battleground states. The performance series will feature a number of artists who will energize our supporters and encourage them to turn out to vote on Election Day or to take advantage of early voting options in their states. Some of the artists participating include Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry. Additional performances will be announced in the coming days.
These performances will also serve as organizing opportunities to recruit new volunteers for the final stretch of the campaign so more Americans can encourage their friends and neighbors to join the millions of Americans who will vote in this year’s election. In the final weeks of the campaign, what voters will hear from these performers and all HFA surrogates is that Hillary Clinton has the experience and steadiness to bring people together and get real results. The choice in this election is clear. We can either come together to tackle the big challenges facing the country or let Donald Trump keep tearing us apart with his divisive rhetoric and dangerous ideas. That’s why millions of people are coming together to support Hillary Clinton and send a clear message that ‘love trumps hate.’
On Monday, Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Colorado. At a Get out the Vote event on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, he spoke about a variety of issues including the rising cost of a higher education, income inequality, immigration, and health care. Sanders addressed how Clinton and the Democratic platform would address of each of the issues and urged them to get out and vote on November 8th. “Politics and political engagement does not end on Election Day. We need you on the day after the election,” he said urging the crowd, most of them student, to remain politically active following the election. A video of Sanders’ speech is below.
Anne Holton, wife of Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, was in Florida where she held two events in Pensacola. Her first stop was a Women for Hillary event during which she spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points including plans to increase the minimum wage, create new jobs, ensure equal pay for women, and provide paid family leave. She praised the campaign run by Clinton and Kaine saying, “It is important to have that person-to-person contact, it is even more important with the negativity we have had this campaign season. Holton also spoke with volunteers and supporters at a local canvass kick-off. She encouraged them to keep knocking on doors, putting up signs, and making phone calls. Meanwhile, three fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America as the final fundraising deadline approaches. The first was in Bethesda, Maryland where Tim Kaine attended a private fundraising event. Then, in Dallas, Texas, a LGBT and Allies event was held featuring a conversation with Vic Holmes, Mark Phariss, and Steve Rudner. In New York City, a Broadway for Hillary event was held. The event featured an appearance by Chelsea Clinton but a number of performances. The performers included: Sara Bareilles, Angela Bassett, Emily Blunt, Matthew Broderick, Ayodele Casel, Alan Cumming, Cynthia Erivo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jones, Andrea McArdle, Sienna Miller, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Helen Mirren, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bernadette Peters, and Julia Roberts. On Saturday, Tim Kaine campaigned in Miami, Florida and encouraged residents to take advantage of the extended deadline to register to vote. The state gave potential voters an extra week to register in the wake of Hurricane Matthew. After being introduced by musician Pusha T, Kaine encouraged everyone to register to vote and ensure that friends and family members were registered as well. Kaine said that Florida is important for himself and Hillary Clinton and that Floridians could decide the election. “If [Donald Trump] loses Florida, it’s checkmate. Let’s do some checkmate and win,” he said. A video from the event is below.
Meanwhile, fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America in two states. The first event was in Jersey City, New Jersey and featured a conversation with Mayor Steven Fulop and Chelsea Clinton. The second event, in Chicago, Illinois, was a cocktail party with a special performance by Amy & Freddy.
Today, Bill Clinton continued his bus tour in Iowa with stops in Mount Vernon and Davenport. At his first event in Mount Vernon, Bill spoke with supporters on the campus of Cornell College. He focused on the issues saying that we, as a country, can do better than Donald Trump, and that his message is divisive at a time when we need more unity. Bill continued saying that the “us versus them” mentality is not productive. He urged everyone to vote on November 8th because this election will set the tone for the country for the next four years. Bill wrapped up his bus tour in Iowa at an event in Davenport. During the event, Bill was interrupted by protestors and Trump supporters that were removed by local police. He responded to the protests by criticizing Trump’s message saying, “If you serve poison for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a year and a half, somebody’s going to drink it and give it back.” Bill then continued with his usual campaign speech in which he outlined Hillary’s platform points and an optimistic view of the future. “You want to elect somebody President who believes everybody’s got a story. Everybody deserves human dignity. Everybody deserves a chance to live their dreams. We all do better when we work together,” he said. Videos from the events will be posted when/if available.
Chelsea Clinton spoke with supporters at an organizing event on the campus of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. Chelsea outlined her mother’s plan for the United States and her focus on economic equality. She said that she understands the anger with the current political system, but that Hillary will fight for those who need a voice. “I’m really proud that she does sweat the details, even though her opponent criticizes her for being too prepared. Because if it’s your child or your family or the future of our planet those are (important) details, so I’m so proud of my mom and of her campaign and even more her life of work and advocacy, because this election is about our future but it’s ultimately about our values.” A video of Chelsea’s speech is below.

Meanwhile, two fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America today. The first was in San Francisco, California and featured a conversation with Hillary Clinton. The event also featured a performance by Andra Day. In Boston, Massachusetts, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and special guests Lynn Whitfield and Ayanna Pressley spoke at an African Americans for Hillary event.
On Monday, Tim Kaine campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Denver, Colorado. During the event, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary’s platform points and spoke about her strong performance at last night’s debate. Kaine also spoke about Republican Donald Trump’s 2005 vulgar comments about women saying that men should be insulted by them as well. He said that Trump “cannot look at a woman and see an equal” and real men do not talk about women in a derogatory way. The event also featured a performance by musician Dave Matthews. Chelsea Clinton, meanwhile, campaigned in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She began her day in Rochester, Minnesota where she spoke to local residents about her mother’s policies and why she is the best candidate for the job. She then spoke about the importance of voting in the upcoming election. Chelsea urged everyone to register to vote and to turn out on November 8th saying that everyone has a vested interest in the election. “I didn’t know I could care anymore about politics until I was blessed to become a parent and found that I could, found everything I cared about before just has a sharper intensity,” she said. Chelsea then traveled to Racine, Wisconsin where she addressed a group of local residents at the Living Light Community Center. Chelsea spoke about a number of Hillary’s major platform points such as raising the minimum wage, passing comprehensive immigration reform, ensuring women receive equal pay, and supporting family medical leave. Chelsea also contrasted Hillary’s plans from those of Trump saying that Hillary has the background and bipartisan connections in Congress to get the job done. “If we look at areas where we already have a broad-base and bipartisan support, my mother has a record of building things together and getting things done. And she hopes that she will have the opportunity to demonstrate that action-oriented positive leadership as president,” she explained. A video from the Racine event is below.
In Chicago, Illinois, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and Rick Bayless.
Tim Kaine returned to the campaign trail on Wednesday following his strong debate performance on Tuesday night. During his speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kaine claimed victory, but did address criticisms that he interrupted Mike Pence too many times joking that even his wife gave him a hard time about it. He did go after Pence for not defending his running mate Donald Trump saying, “Your running mate ought to be able to defend you.” Kaine continued with his speech talking about a number of Hillary’s key platform points including creating new jobs, raising the minimum wage, supporting labor unions, improving health care, supporting the middle class, and ensuring that everyone has an equal chance in America. Bill Clinton remained in Ohio where he wrapped up a multiple day bus tour of the state. This morning he was in Youngstown where he spoke about Hillary’s plans to create new jobs and help communities that have been hit hard by unemployment and a loss of manufacturing and mining jobs. He said that he understands voters’ anger saying, “Look, there’s a reason for the road rage today. People go 15 years without a raise, they’re mad.” He then outlined a number of of Hillary’s platform proposals that would help communities like Youngstown including investments in infrastructure and clean energy. Speaking at the local UAW hall, Bill also spoke about the importance of labor unions and Hillary’s continued support for them while Republicans like Trump and Pence try to stamp out unions. Bill then traveled to Canton where he continued to his focus on the economy and job creation. He said, “I think we’re on the verge of the greatest period of prosperity, discovery and advancement in the history of this country, if we do that right thing.” But, Bill warned, there are people like Trump who are more interested in helping those at the top of the income scale and ignore those in the middle and working classes. He said that in order to grow the economy, we need to tap into previously untapped resources. “We need more manufacturing loans, we need more small business loans and more small business startups, we need more investments in science and technology,” he said. On Wednesday, Chelsea Clinton campaigned on behalf of her mother, Hillary Clinton, in Iowa. She spoke at events in Dubuque and Sioux City, and focused on the importance of voting at both. She encouraged everyone who is unable to vote on November 8 to take advantage of early voting in Iowa, which is currently under way. Chelsea also spoke about a number of her mother’s platform points including reforming the Department of Veterans Affairs, continuing to improve the health care system, and Hillary’s plans to help rural Americans. At each event, Chelsea also took questions from those in attendance. Videos from the events will be added when/if available.
Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned for Hillary today in Iowa and Wisconsin. His first event was in Des Moines where he spoke to supporters at Drake University. During the event, Sanders spoke about Hillary’s economic plan and her proposals to ensure a college education is affordable, help students who are in debt refinance at lower interest rates, create new jobs across the country by investing in the country’s infrastructure and expanding clean energy. Sanders also stressed the importance of the election urging everyone to get out and vote. A video of Sanders’ speech is below.
Sanders then traveled to Madison, Wisconsin for an event supporting both Hillary and U.S. Senate candidate Russ Feingold. Sanders said that he supports Hillary because she supports a progressive platform and will fight for it as president. He then outlined a number of the issues she will work on as president including raising the minimum wage, creating a public option for health care, reforming the criminal justice system, and implementing campaign finance reform. He stressed that Hillary is better then the alternative, Republican Donald Trump, saying, “We will not allow bigotry to resurface in the United States of America. Sanders’ final event of the day was in Green Bay where he continued to focus on Clinton’s dedication to progress. He spoke about similar points as he had in Des Moines and Madison earlier in the day, but the Senator was greeted warmly. Sanders, an Independent from Vermont, has been on the campaign trail for Hillary since the Democratic National Convention in July. As Hillary’s former rival for the Democratic nomination, he has repeatedly said that he is dedicated to electing Hillary president in November. Meanwhile, a series of fundraisers were held across the country in support of Hillary for America. The first was in Washington, DC and featured Hillary Clinton, Eva Longoria, Julianna Margulies, and special performance by Estelle. The next event was in San Francisco, California and featured a conversation with Senator Elizabeth Warren. Then, in St. Augustine, Florida, an event was held at the home of Dawn and Patrick Canan. The event featured a conversation with Congresswoman Gwen Graham. The final event was a fundraiser for American citizens in London featuring Melanne Verveer, former Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, U.S. Department of State.
On the final night of the Democratic National Convention, everyone awaited the acceptance speech of Hillary Clinton. Clinton was introduced by Chelsea Clinton, then a short biographical video was shown. She then took the stage and spoke about her vision for the future. Her vision is one of growth and prosperity for the nation and all Americans. She offered a plan that is in stark contrast from the vision presented last week during the Republican National Convention. Clinton criticized Donald Trump’s characterization that he alone has all the answers and can solve all of America’s problems. She said, “Americans don’t say ‘I alone can fix it.’ We say, ‘we’ll fix it together.'”
Clinton’s speech was more personal in nature as she reintroduces herself to the American people. She spoke about her mother, daughter, and grandchildren and what has driven her throughout her career. The reason for her dedication is quite simple: public service. The DNC’s biography video and Clinton’s speech focused on her public service experience including many things that she has done without fanfare. Overall the speech was a more personal message than we typically hear from Clinton. She was filled with gratitude for her supporters, emotion, and energy for the long campaign ahead. The final night included a number of other key speeches including addresses from Representative Nancy Pelosi, the Women of the Senate, Representative Joaquin Castro, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf, Khizr Khan, General John Allen, Senator Sherrod Brown, and a musical performance by Katy Perry. Chelsea Clinton introduced Hillary with a personal speech full of stories form her childhood and how her mother has been there for her, and how she is always available for her grandchildren. On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail where she attended a Get Out the Vote event in Newark, New Jersey. After Clinton was introduced by Senator Cory Booker and singer Jon Bon Jovi, Clinton spoke to the crowd about about a number of her key platform points and the importance of the 2016 election. At the beginning of her speech, she attacked presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump and his controversial Trump University, which is currently in the midst of a legal battle. Clinton said, “Trump U was a fraudulent scheme where Donald Trump enriched himself at the expense of hard working people. Trump himself is a fraud.” A full video from the event is below.
Clinton then traveled to Boston, Massachusetts where she attended a fundraiser. The event included a special performance by Bon Jovi.
