Hillary Clinton Wraps Up Campaign with Events in Three States

Hillary Clinton spent the final day of the campaign speaking at events in three states. She began at an event in Oakland, Pennsylvania where she outlined her vision of America and said that she wants “to be the president for all Americans, not just some.” She never mentioned Donald Trump by name, but she urged everyone to “rise above all of this hate-filled rhetoric.” She concluded her speech by asking everyone to get out and vote tomorrow adding, “I’m here to ask you to vote for yourselves, vote for your families, vote for your futures. … Because they are on the ballot.” A video from the event is below.

Clinton then traveled to Allendale, Michigan for a get out the vote rally on the campus of Grand Valley State University. Clinton focused more on her platform and the future of the country than she did her opponent. She spoke about her plans to create jobs, improve health care, make college more affordable, raise the minimum wage, and ensure equal pay for women. She said that if elected president, she will work for everyone and looks forward to working with Senators Debbie Stabenow and Bernie Sanders to pass a platform aimed at helping all Americans. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a rally was held in front of a crowd of several thousand. The event began with musical performances by Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. Bill and Chelsea Clinton then took the stage and briefly spoke about the importance of the election. Next, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama each spoke about Clinton’s platform and how she is the only candidate to carry on the legacy of the Obama administration. When Clinton took the stage, she urged everyone to consider the future of the country saying that she is optimistic. She concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote tomorrow. Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea wrapped up the campaign at a midnight rally in Raleigh, North Carolina. The event opened with performances by Jon Bon Jovi and Lady Gaga, then Chelsea and Bill spoke. They spoke about the campaign and the importance of voting tomorrow. When Hillary took the stage, shorty before 1 am, she spoke about her optimistic vision of the future and urged everyone to vote for the future they envision for our country. “I believe it’s the most important election of our lifetime. It’s not just my name or Donald Trump’s name on the ballot, it’s the kind of country you want,” she said. A video from the event is below.

Vice President Biden Campaigns in Florida on Eve of Election

On the eve of the election, Vice President Joe Biden returned to Florida where he spoke on the campus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee. After being introduced by his wife, Jill, Biden spoke about the importance of voting before the end of the day tomorrow. He urged everyone to consider the future the country and the visions being outlined by Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Biden said that Clinton offers a platform that is far more optimistic and inclusive. He said that her plans are geared toward helping everyone and not just those at the top. Biden urged everyone to reject the divisive policies of Trump and vote for Clinton tomorrow. A video from the event is below.

Biden held his last solo campaign event for Clinton in St. Petersburg. During the event, Biden spoke about the vision Trump has for America and asked the audience to imagine living in that future. “We don’t have to make anything up; we just have to say what they want to push,” he said adding that it is doubtful that a Trump administration would continue Pell grants for college, repealing the Affordable Care Act would leave at least 20 million Americans without coverage, and his economic plans would ensure that those at the top prosper at the expense of the middle class. President Obama Campaigns for Hillary in Kissimmee

President Barack Obama returned to Florida on Sunday where he campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Kissimmee. At a rally held in Osceola County Stadium, Obama spoke about the importance of the election and ensuring that Clinton is elected president on Tuesday. He spoke about Clinton’s optimistic platform including her plans to create jobs, make college more affordable, and build an economy that works for everyone. Obama said that Clinton is the only candidate that will ensure the progress the country has made will continue, and he criticized Donald Trump’s dangerous rhetoric. Tim Kaine Rallies Supporters in Pennsylvania

Tim Kaine held two campaign events today in Pennsylvania where he encouraged voters to support Hillary Clinton for president and Katie McGinty for U.S. Senate. Speaking at events in Newtown and Allentown, Kaine focused on the issues and the dangers of electing Donald Trump. He said that the vision of America expressed by himself and Clinton are certainly more optimistic than Trump’s and he stressed the importance of the electing adding, “We can’t afford to get this wrong.” At both events, Kaine spoke about the importance of Pennsylvania in the electing saying, “Pennsylvania is key. Vice President Biden Rallies Crowd in Pittsburgh

Vice President Joe Biden campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Tuesday. During his speech at Chatham University, Biden spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and electing Clinton and other Democrats to office across the country and especially in the United States Senate. He spoke about Clinton’s blueprint for America and how it is starkly different from the vision presented by Republican Donald Trump. While Biden spent quite a bit of his speech criticizing Trump, he also expressed his optimism for America’s future. “I am more optimistic about the prospects for America today than I have ever been in my life. We are on the cusp of being able to do some things that we haven’t been able to do since World War II, if we just have some confidence in ourselves,” he said. Michelle Obama Campaigns for Hillary in Phoenix

On Thursday, First Lady Michelle Obama campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Phoenix, Arizona. Obama spoke to a crowd of over 7,000 about the optimistic vision for America offered by Clinton and her campaign platform. She condemned Donald Trump for his hateful rhetoric, and she blasted his refusal to say that he would accept the results of the 2016 election, regardless of the outcome. She said, “You don’t keep American democracy in suspense.” Obama then spoke about the importance of voting and how Arizona will play a vital role in this election. She admitted that this election cycle has been rough, but she said, “Do not let yourself get tired or frustrated or disgusted by everything you’ve seen in this campaign. Please, be encouraged. I have traveled the world, and I am telling you we still live in the greatest country on earth. We have every reason to be hopeful. Remember that in difficult times, we don’t give up. We don’t discard our highest ideals. No! We rise up to meet them. We rise up to perfect our union. That is the power of hope!” Watch a video of Obama’s speech below.

Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in New Hampshire

Bill Clinton was in New Hampshire on Monday where he spoke at two events on behalf of Hillary Clinton. His first event was in Hanover on the campus of Dartmouth College where he focused on the positive things have happened in the United States over the last eight years. While he admitted that there is still progress to be made, he believes that Hillary has the plans to continue economic growth and ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prosper in America. He contrasted the message of Hillary’s campaign with that of Republican Donald Trump’s saying that “Strong Together” is far more positive then “Make America Great Again.” Bill wrapped up the event by talking about New Hampshire’s role in the election and encouraging everyone to vote on November 8th. In Keene, Bill spoke on the campus of Keene State College and largely focused on the same themes as he did in Hanover. He urged voters to remain optimistic about America’s future and elect someone who is optimistic as well. “You cannot give this country’s future away to people who think anger is better than answers, that resentment is much better than empowerment, that endless conflict is better than cooperation,” he said of Trump. Bill then looked to after the election and called for unity saying, “One of the things I think we have to do when this election is over — every one of us, each in our own way — is not treat the people on the other side the way they and their candidate have treated us. Bill, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary on Thursday

Today, Bill Clinton continued his bus tour in Iowa with stops in Mount Vernon and Davenport. At his first event in Mount Vernon, Bill spoke with supporters on the campus of Cornell College. He focused on the issues saying that we, as a country, can do better than Donald Trump, and that his message is divisive at a time when we need more unity. Bill continued saying that the “us versus them” mentality is not productive. He urged everyone to vote on November 8th because this election will set the tone for the country for the next four years. Bill wrapped up his bus tour in Iowa at an event in Davenport. During the event, Bill was interrupted by protestors and Trump supporters that were removed by local police. He responded to the protests by criticizing Trump’s message saying, “If you serve poison for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a year and a half, somebody’s going to drink it and give it back.” Bill then continued with his usual campaign speech in which he outlined Hillary’s platform points and an optimistic view of the future. “You want to elect somebody President who believes everybody’s got a story. Everybody deserves human dignity. Everybody deserves a chance to live their dreams. We all do better when we work together,” he said. Videos from the events will be posted when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton spoke with supporters at an organizing event on the campus of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. Chelsea outlined her mother’s plan for the United States and her focus on economic equality. She said that she understands the anger with the current political system, but that Hillary will fight for those who need a voice. “I’m really proud that she does sweat the details, even though her opponent criticizes her for being too prepared. Because if it’s your child or your family or the future of our planet those are (important) details, so I’m so proud of my mom and of her campaign and even more her life of work and advocacy, because this election is about our future but it’s ultimately about our values.” A video of Chelsea’s speech is below.

Meanwhile, two fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America today. The first was in San Francisco, California and featured a conversation with Hillary Clinton. The event also featured a performance by Andra Day. In Boston, Massachusetts, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee and special guests Lynn Whitfield and Ayanna Pressley spoke at an African Americans for Hillary event.

Hillary Clinton Addresses VFW Convention in Charlotte

On Monday, as the Democratic National Convention begins in Philadelphia, Hillary Clinton was in Charlotte, North Carolina where she addressed the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Convention. Clinton vowed to reform the Department of Veterans Affairs to fix the backlog and bring the technology into the current century. She promised that she would not privatize the VA as others have suggested. During her speech, she also went after Republican Donald Trump (who will address the WFW convention tomorrow). She criticized his “me” mentality saying, “You will never hear me say I will only listen to myself on national security.” Clinton also went after Trump’s statements about a number of our key allies saying, “I believe in standing with our allies. Generations of American troops fought and died to secure those bonds. They knew we were safer with more friends and partners.” A video of Clinton’s speech is below.

Clinton then spoke an organizing event for local volunteers. She fired up the crowd by continuing her criticism of Trump’s policies and rhetoric saying, “I don’t know how you run for president of the United States if you spend all your time trashing the United States.” She called out his divisive attitude saying that America is better off when everyonore works together and shares in it’s rewards. As the DNC kicks off, Clinton promised that the Democratic Party will offer an optimistic view of America while offering solutions to the problems facing the country. Watch Clinton’s speech below.

Democratic National Convention Begins Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Democrats will gather in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and office nominate Hillary Clinton and running mate Senator Tim Kaine as the Democratic ticket for president. The Convention is important because there are a series of caucus meetings and finalization of the Democratic Party platform. In a speech on Friday, Clinton promised that the convention would feature an optimistic view of America and our future as a stark contrast to the message delivered during the RNC last week.
