Tim Kaine, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary on Thursday

On Thursday, Tim Kaine campaigned in New Hampshire. He began by attending a coffee event in Portsmouth where he discussed opportunities for young people in the Granite State. Then, Kaine spoke at a rally in Exeter where he criticized Donald Trump’s vision of America and presented Hillary Clinton’s vision to the crowd. He spoke about opportunities for young people, making college more affordable, and building the economy by creating millions of new jobs. “If we’re going to build an economy, it’s got to work for everybody, not just a few. If we’re going to be strong in the world, part of that strength is alliances, rather than just building walls and tearing up alliances,” he said. A video from Kaine’s event in Exeter is below.

Chelsea Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary and Kaine in Ohio today. She began by speaking to students and supporters at Sinclair Community College in Dayton. During her speech, Chelsea spoke about the creating more opportunities for young people, including reducing the cost of higher education. Chelsea then traveled to Westerville where she spoke about Hillary’s plans to build upon the progress that been made in the country. “Unlike her opponent, she actually has plans for higher education and affordability, so people are not limited by their zip code, or their income, and their ability to pursue their dreams,” she said. Three fundraisers were held today on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was a lunch event in Crystal Lake, Illinois with Lisa Madigan. The second took place in Seattle, Washington and featured a conversation with HFA Campaign Manager Robby Mook. The final event was in New York City and included a conversation with Rodney Slater, Former United States Secretary of Transportation. The event was hosted by Deserrie Forte and Shawn Norville.

Hillary Clinton Talks about American Exceptionalism at American Legion Convention

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton addressed the American Legion National Convention in Cincinnati, Ohio. During her speech, Clinton framed the United States as “exceptional” and a “leader” in the world. “When we say America is exceptional, it doesn’t mean that people from other places don’t feel deep national pride, just like we do. It means that we recognize America’s unique and unparalleled ability to be a force for peace and progress, a champion for freedom and opportunity,” she said.

Clinton argued that the United States and the world cannot afford the election of Donald Trump. Blasting Trump she said, “You don’t build a coalition by insulting our friends or acting like a loose cannon. You do it by putting in the slow, hard work of building relationships.” She went on to criticize Trump’s visit with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto today saying that one visit does not make up for months of his divisive rhetoric. Clinton wrapped up saying that she believes that this election is “about how to make things better,” and, as president, she vowed to do just that. A video of Clinton’s speech is below.

Tim Kaine Speaks at the Progressive National Baptist Convention

Tim Kaine was in New Orleans on Thursday where he spoke at the Progressive National Baptist Convention. Speaking with the group of 800 leaders, Kaine spoke about his Catholic upbringing, his missionary work in Honduras, and the central theme of Hillary Clinton’s campaign of equity and opportunity. He spoke about injustice saying that it needed to be fought everywhere it appears. “That’s a proud tradition that continues in the work you do of being the voice for the voiceless, standing up for people’s rights. Registering voters and making sure people can get over the hurdles and the barriers someone put in their way so they can participate in one of the most solemn things we do,” he said. Meanwhile, in Needham, Massachusetts, Ann Lewis spoke with supporters at a fundraiser hosted by Massachusetts Women for Hillary. Then in Columbus, Ohio, a fundraiser was held with Kristin Davis. The event was hosted by Debbie Neimeth.

Bill Clinton Campaigns in Los Angeles Area

On Saturday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in three cities in the Los Angeles area. His first event was in Inglewood where he spoke about Hillary’s platform plans and the importance of continuing the successes of the Obama administration. Bill also went after Republican nominee Donald Trump saying that his pledged to “make America great again” is a signal for something else. “He means: ‘I’ll make it the way it used to be.’ Well, it wasn’t so great for a lot of people,” he said. He continued the attacks on Trump saying, “we’ve got to start acting like Americans again and stop dumping all over each other.” Before meeting with supporters in the crowd, he asked for voters’ support in Tuesday’s primary. Bill then spoke at Get Out the Vote rallies in Torrance and Compton. At each event, he touted Hillary’s experience and her plans to ensure that every American has equal opportunities. Bill argued that Hillary’s vision of America is vastly different from that of Trump and that it is important for voters to understand that Trump is campaigning on fear while Hillary is optimistic about America’s future. Hillary Clinton Unveils Environmental, Immigration Plan Details

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton delivered two major speeches during which she outlined her plans for environmental action and her proposal to create a Department of Immigrant Affairs to help immigrants become American citizens. This morning, Clinton was endorsed by the New York State Immigrant Action Fund, and Clinton attended a round table event during which she discussed her plans for immigration reform. She criticized Republican Donald Trump for his anti-immigration rhetoric and vowed to help immigrants become American citizens. During her remarks, she proposed the introduction of a Department of Immigrant Affairs that would work at all levels of government to assist immigrants and refugees as they settle in the United States.

In the afternoon, Clinton spoke at the National Action Network Convention where she was introduced by Rev. Al Sharpton. Clinton introduced her plan for environmental and climate justice which is a small part of her larger Breaking Every Barrier agenda. The plan not only includes fighting climate change, but eliminating lead as a public health threat. The main points of the plan include:

• Eliminating lead as a major public heath threat within five years
• Protesting public heath and safety by modernizing drinking and wastewater systems
• Prosecuting criminal and civil violations that expose communities to environmental harm and work with Congress to strengthen public health protections in our existing laws
• Creating new economic opportunity through brownfield clean-up and redevelopment
• Reducing urban air pollution by investing in clean power and transportation
• Broadening the clean energy economy, build career opportunities, and combat energy poverty by expanding solar and energy efficiency in low-income communities and communities of color
• Protecting communities from the impacts of climate change by investing in resilient infrastructure
• Establishing an Environmental and Climate Justice Task Force to make environmental and climate justice, including cumulative impacts, an integral part of federal decision-making

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event in the Bronx. During the event, she spoke about a variety of topics including working for New York as senator, improving education, building upon the progress made in heath care, and ensuring that all Americans have an opportunity to prosper. She took the time to point out the differences between her and her Republican rivals, especially front-runner Donald Trump. Bill, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary

On Thursday, Bill Clinton held two organizing events in Pennsylvania. The first was in Philadelphia where he spoke about Hillary’s experience and plans to continue growing the economy, improving heath care, and making sure everyone has an equal opportunity. Toward the end of his speech, Bill was interrupted by protesters and he engaged them for over ten minutes, but they continued to shout over his answers to their questions and concern prompting him to respond, “I like protesters, but the ones that won’t let you answer are afraid of the truth.”

Bill then spoke at an event in Scranton. Speaking at Scranton High School, Bill focused on Hillary’s platform and her plans to continue the progress of the last eight years. He said, “If you want to do something to make America better, you ought to pick the best change-maker with the best ideas, the best preparation, the best job at this time. If that’s the test, it’s not close. You know her here. You’ve been good to her here. You’ve been good to me here.” Videos from today’s events will be posted when/if available.

In Texas, Chelsea Clinton attended three fundraisers on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in El Paso where she attended an event hosted by Governor Carlos Hisa. Clinton then attended a fundraiser in San Antonio. The event was held at the home of Jennifer and Saul Perloff. Her final event of the day was in Dallas where she attended an event at the home of Julie Johnson and Sue Moster. Meanwhile, in New York, De’Ara Balenger, Director of Engagement, attended a fundraiser at Artspace.

Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Missouri and Ohio

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton campaigned in Missouri and Ohio. She began with a morning rally in St. Louis. Speaking to a crowd at the Nelson-Mulligan Carpenters’ Training Center, Clinton criticized the rhetoric of Republican front-runner Donald Trump and the violence surrounding his campaign events that is getting out of hand, particularly in St. Louis and Chicago. Clinton then went on to speak about the future of the country and why it was okay for Americans to be frustrated. She said, “You have every right to be angry, but anger is not a plan. You have every right to vent your frustration about the way that our economy and our political system is failing, but venting is not a solution.” Clinton then went on to lay out her platform and explain what she would do as president to ensure everyone had equal opportunities. Clinton then traveled to Cleveland where she hosted a forum event at the Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. During the event, she spoke about her plans for the economy and health care and how her plans will address the specific needs of Ohioans. Clinton wrapped up the day at a Get Out the Vote rally in Youngstown. Speaking to a crowd of supporters at M2 Technologies, Clinton focused on trade. She called for tougher regulations on auto imports that the Obama administration negotiated in the Trans-Pacific Partnership. She said, “We are going to enforce trade agreements. We are not going any longer to be at the mercy of what any country is going to do to take advantage of our markets.”

Hillary Clinton Interviewed by BET

On Sunday evening, Hillary Clinton was interviewed for a BET special called “Black Votes Matter.” For the special, each of the Democratic candidates, Clinton and Bernie Sanders, were interviewed separately. Clinton spoke about her plans to end mass incarceration in the African-American community, improve small business opportunities,  and how she would build upon the progress of President Barack Obama.
