Hillary Clinton Speaks at Events on the Campuses of Wellesley and Harvard

Late this past week, Hillary Clinton spoke with audiences at two major New England Colleges. First, on Thursday evening, Clinton spoke at a private, student and faculty only event on the campus of Wellesley College. As Clinton’s Alma Mater, the event focused on Clinton’s time at the school and her political career. Clinton spoke briefly and took questions from the audience. According to sources inside the room, Clinton was asked by one audience member about what she would have changed about her campaign. She responded simply, “I’d win.” Clinton graduated from Wellesley College in 1969 and is scheduled to give this year’s commencement address in May.

On Friday, Clinton took part in a series of “Fireside Chats” on the campus of Harvard University. Clinton’s appearance was part of the “American Secretaries of State Project: Diplomacy, Negotiation, and Statecraft” series sponsored by the Kennedy School, Law School, and Business School. She met with undergraduate members of the IOP’s Student Advisory Committee and a few lucky residents of Kirkland House. Clinton is the seventh former Secretary of State to take part in the series. Like the event at Wellesley College, it was closed to the public and press.

Hillary Clinton Wins Guam Caucuses

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton won the Democratic caucuses in Guam. She defeated rival Bernie Sanders with 60% of the vote to his 40%. A total of seven delegates were up for grabs in the US territory, and the victory will add a few more pledged delegates to Clinton’s lead. The next primary will be held on May 10 in West Virginia.

Hillary and Bill Clinton Campaign in Indiana

On Tuesday while five states in the Northeast voted, Hillary Clinton turned her focus to Indiana which holds their primary on May 3. She focused on manufacturing today stopping at two local manufacturers. Hillary began in Hammond where she toured and spoke to employees at Munster Steel Co. She then traveled to employees at AM General in Mishawaka. At both stops, Hillary touted her “Make it in America” manufacturing plan and her focus on keeping jobs in America. She praised AM General for their steel work for German car company Mercedes-Benz saying, “You have Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a German company’s vehicles, being made here in this great American plant and being exported to China. So that proves if we are smart and we are determined, we can out-work and out-compete anybody anywhere, and that is my goal.” A video of Hillary’s speech in Hammond is below.

Bill Clinton also made a stop in Indiana today and held an organizing event in Indianapolis. Speaking for nearly forty minutes, Bill covered a number of Hillary’s platform topics and criticized her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders for his plans which he called unrealistic. Bill also spoke about Hillary’s manufacturing plan and rewarding companies that keep their plants in United States. Other topics Bill covered included the economy, education, and labor unions. Clinton to Testify before Congress

UPDATE: Clinton’s appearance before the committee has been postponed.

Hillary Rodham Clinton agreed to testify before the House Select Committee on Benghazi the week of May 18 to answer questions about the 2012 Benghazi attacks and her use of a personal email server during her time as Secretary of State. David Kendall, a lawyer for Clinton, told the committee that she would only testify before the committee once and would not return later in the summer for a second round of questioning. Clinton appeared before a Congressional committee regarding the Benghazi attacks in 2013.

Tomorrow, Clinton heads to Nevada to continue her early campaign stops. She is expected to make a number of stops in the state including a scheduled appearance tomorrow at Rancho High School in Las Vegas. Follow Clinton in Nevada on Twitter and Facebook.
