On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his speech, Biden spoke about the importance of North Carolina saying that winning the state is important to Clinton. He made the case for Clinton by outlining her populist agenda including her plans to raise the minimum wage, create more jobs, and invest in American manufacturing. Biden contrasted a number of Clinton’s proposals with those made by Donald Trump saying that he does not represent America or the Republican Party. Biden urged voters to take advantage of early voting and to get out and support Clinton before the election adding, “Don’t wake up November the 9th and say, ‘If I’d just made two more calls … and done a few more things, we’d have won North Carolina.'” A video from the event will be added when/if available.
Bill Clinton returned to Florida on Tuesday where he campaigned for Hillary Clinton at three events. His first event was in Florida City where he told a crowd of supporters that Hillary Clinton is, by far, the best candidate for president and that countless military and national security experts agree. “They know what the real security issue is. The real security issue is having somebody who will keep you safe and strong while we can grow our way together,” he said. Bill focused on Hillary’s plans to ensure that Americans are able to prosper together, and he outlined her plans to create jobs, grow the economy, and make college more affordable. Bill then traveled to Immokalee where he was greeted by supporters. Bill is the first former president to every visit the town. He spoke about the stark differences between Hillary and her opponent, Republican Donald Trump, saying that her plans focus on everyday people, and not those at the top. Bill touted Hillary’s plans to ensure college is affordable for everyone, improve the Affordable Care Act, and create jobs by investing in infrastructure, manufacturing, and clean energy. Again, Bill concluded stressing the importance of voting saying, “The most important thing you can do is to vote and take your friends to vote. Do it today tomorrow and every day through Election Day. If enough people who are for Hillary turn out, she’ll win Florida, and she’ll be the next president.” A video from the event is below.
Bill’s final stop of the day was in St. Petersburg where he focused on Hillary’s platform points and the divisive nature of Trump’s campaign. Bill outlined a number of Hillary’s key policies including her plans to create jobs and ensure an equal opportunity for every American to succeed. He then contrasted that vision with Trump’s saying that the racist undertones of Trump’s campaign are becoming more obvious. “As a 70-year-old Southerner, I know what will make America great again,” Clinton said implying that Trump will make it difficult for anyone who is not white. On Monday, Tim Kaine campaigned in North Carolina where he began the day at an event in Jacksonville. During his speech, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary Clinton’s key platform points including her plans to create jobs and continue the economic growth started by the administration of President Barack Obama. He said that the goal is to build an economy that works for everyone, and not just those at the top. Kaine also spoke about Donald Trump and attacked Trump for his disrespect for the military. As the father of a Marine, Kaine said, “We need someone who has known about (the military) in the past and know what we look for in the future, even know what the military stands for other than fighting.” Kaine wrapped up the event by asking everyone to vote and to take advantage of the state’s early voting adding, “You are not the kind of people to stand by. We’re going to go out on November 8 and make history and do something that’s never been done.” A video from the event is below.
In Sanford, Kaine continued to focus on the economy and Clinton’s plans to create jobs by investing in infrastructure, manufacturing, clean energy, education and training, and helping small businesses. Kaine urged everyone to not become complacent by current polls indicating that the gap that favored Clinton in the polls is closing, something he said they knew would happen. “I’m the underdog until they call me the winner,” he said asking everyone to vote on November 8th or to take advantage of early voting. Tim Kaine campaigned in Michigan today were he began with a rally at a local fire station in Taylor. During his speech, Kaine spoke about Hillary’s presidential platform and her plans to create jobs by investing in manufacturing and infrastructure, support labor unions and their right to collectively bargain, raise the minimum wage, and make college more affordable. Kaine had a populist tone as he went after Republican Donald Trump for his rhetoric and comments against women and minorities. He said that unlike their opponent, he and Clinton will not focus on themselves, but every American and their families. Kaine then traveled to Warren where he addressed the Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights. During his speech, Kaine focus on the economy and Clinton’s dedication to the middle class. He specifically spoke about jobs and Clinton’s plans to invest in manufacturing and infrastructure. He said, “If we do these basic things that Hillary Clinton planned, independent analysts say that our economy will grow ten and a half million jobs in the first four years.” Kaine also spoke about Clinton’s support for organized labor and guaranteed that a Clinton/Kaine administration would guarantee employee’s right to unionize and collectively bargain. Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Ohio today with his first event being in Cleveland. He spoke about a variety of Hillary’s platform plans including her proposals to boost manufacturing, invest in infrastructure improvements, and make college more affordable. Bill also contrasted the tone of Hillary’s campaign from that of Republican Donald Trump’s saying, “Her theme is ‘Stronger Together’ and her opponent’s theme is ‘No we’re not.'” He attacked Trump for his negative, “us vs. them” message adding, “I spent a lot of my childhood in an us-versus-them environment. It doesn’t work.” He concluded the event by urging Ohioans to get out and vote.
In Columbus, Bill spoke to a predominantly African American audience about the dangers of Trump and how is “Make American Great Again” theme is a reference to a different time in America. Bill said, “When our opponent says, ‘make America great again,’ hey, I’m a 70-year-old white southerner, I know what that means. Fifty years ago, it wasn’t so great for African-Americans or Hispanic-Americans or first-generation immigrants or women in the workplace. Children with disabilities couldn’t go to school. Nobody saw their abilities. Gay people were confined to a closet.” Bill spoke about Hillary’s plans to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity in America and urged everyone to take advantage of Ohio’s early voting.
Bill’s final event of the day was in Cincinnati where he continued to tout his wife’s plans to create jobs and build on the economic progress of the last eight years. He urged everyone to vote on election day or to take advantage of early voting. Bill also asked everyone to make sure their friends and family members vote saying, “I want to ask you to do two things: Vote today. Vote tomorrow. Vote every day if you haven’t voted. I don’t mean more than one time – don’t do that. Concentrate on getting people who are for Hillary to go vote. Chelsea Clinton returned to Michigan on Saturday where she spoke for about half an hour about the importance of voting in Muskegon. Chelsea spoke about a number of Hillary Clinton’s platform points including her plans to create new jobs, invest in manufacturing, and make college more affordable. She then took questions from the audience and was asked about a variety of topics including her reaction to the Black Lives Matter movement. Chelsea said that her mother has plans to reform the criminal justice system including updating the three strikes rule and minimum sentencing. “If we only focus on criminal justice reform, we’re not doing enough,” she said. In Battle Creek, Chelsea spoke about Hillary’s dedication to ensuring equality in the United States. She said that her mother has plans to protect the rights of women, workers, minorities, and the LGBTQ community. At both events, Chelsea urged everyone to vote on November 8th saying that the stakes of this election are very high for everyone in America interested in seeing the progress of the last eight years continued. Bill Clinton returned to Pennsylvania where he spoke at a series of event focused on early voting. At his first stop in Aliquippa, he spoke about a number of Hillary Clinton’s platform points including her plans to grow the economy and create new jobs. Bill spoke about a number of ways Hillary would create jobs including investing in infrastructure, focusing on growth in the manufacturing sector, and investing in clean energy. He admitted that there have been parts of the country left behind, and Hillary will focus on ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity. Bill then traveled to Duncansville where he continued to speak his wife’s blueprint for America and how her vision is starkly different from that of Republican Donald Trump’s. He spoke about a number of Hillary’s primary areas of focus including health care, making college affordable, and investing in rural communities. “Of all the federal development money for economics, should be devoted exclusively to small towns, rural areas, from Coal Country, to Indian Country to places in rural Pennsylvania, rural Arkansas, where nothing good has happened in a long time,” he said. Meanwhile, in Austin, Texas, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event included a conversation with Chris Sacca, Founder and Chairman of Lowercase Capital and star of ABC’s Shark Tank.
On Wednesday, Bill Clinton wrapped up a two day campaign bus tour in North Carolina. He began the day in Wilmington where he spoke on the campus of Cape Fear Community College. During his speech, Bill spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to bolster the economy by investing in the country’s infrastructure, focusing on bringing manufacturing jobs back to America, raising the minimum wage, and making college more affordable. Bill spoke about the dangers of electing Donald Trump and framed Hillary as the only candidate with a complete plan to move America forward. He said, “Believe it or not, even things like emergency help for people after natural disasters may be on the line here. And one thing you won’t have to worry about with Hillary as president, it’s somebody that’ll have your back when you’re in need and you need to start again.” Bill concluded by urging everyone to on November 8th or to take advantage of early voting. Today, Bill Clinton kicked off a two day campaign bus tour in North Carolina making stops in four cities, including an unannounced stop in Kinston. The three planned stops for the day were in Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, and Greenville. At each event, Clinton spoke in front of a campaign tour bus emblazoned with Hillary Clinton’s campaign motto “Stronger Together.” At each event, he spoke about Hillary’s plans to promote equality, raise the minimum wage, make college more affordable, and to create jobs by investing the country’s infrastructure, manufacturing, and clean energy. Bill also spoke about Hillary’s plans to improve the Affordable Care Act saying that parts of the law need to fixed, but scrapping the entire law is not productive. “You keep what’s good about the law and attack the problems. The worst problems are for people who are just above the subsidy line (paying full price), and we can fix that.”
Bill criticized Donald Trump and his campaign for their divisive tactics, but he asked everyone in attendance to reach out to Trump supporters because they are Americans too. “Do not treat them with the anger they often display toward us – love them to death. Look at them and say, ‘we need you.’ … You don’t want to choose somebody who’s the living embodiment of what’s wrong when you’ve got another person who’s the living embodiment of what we can make right.” Polls between Hillary and Trump are tight in North Carolina, and at each event Bill urged everyone to vote for Hillary and to take advantage of North Carolina’s early voting. Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine campaigned together in Pennsylvania on Saturday. Their first event was in Pittsburgh where Kaine began by speaking about Clinton and their vision for the future. When Clinton took the stage, she had a populist tone speaking about a number of her key platform points including her plans to create jobs, invest in manufacturing jobs, raise the minimum wage, and her pledge to not raise taxes on middle class families. While she admitted that the campaign between her and Republican Donald Trump has been anything by calm, she hoped that everyone can come together after the election because we all have a stake in America’s future. “You probably know people who are thinking about voting for Donald Trump. I want you to tell them that I understand that they need a president who cares about them … and I want to be their president. Whether you vote for me or against me, I believe we can disagree without being disagreeable,” she added later. A video from the event is below.
Clinton and Kaine then traveled to Philadelphia where he spoke first about Clinton saying that despite what Trump says, he thinks that Clinton “looks damn presidential.” She then spoke to a crowd of over 7,000 supporters on a cool evening about the importance of the 2016 election and voting a Clinton-Kaine ticket to the White House, but she also stressed the importance of other down ballot races, especially the Pennsylvania race for Senate. She spoke about Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Katie McGinty and how she will work for Pennsylvanians in Congress.
