Bill Clinton Stresses Early Voting in Pennsylvania

Bill Clinton returned to Pennsylvania where he spoke at a series of event focused on early voting. At his first stop in Aliquippa, he spoke about a number of Hillary Clinton’s platform points including her plans to grow the economy and create new jobs. Bill spoke about a number of ways Hillary would create jobs including investing in infrastructure, focusing on growth in the manufacturing sector, and investing in clean energy. He admitted that there have been parts of the country left behind, and Hillary will focus on ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity. He concluded by encouraging everyone to vote on November 8th or to take advantage of early voting. A partial video from the event is below.

Bill then traveled to Duncansville where he continued to speak his wife’s blueprint for America and how her vision is starkly different from that of Republican Donald Trump’s. He spoke about a number of Hillary’s primary areas of focus including health care, making college affordable, and investing in rural communities. “Of all the federal development money for economics, should be devoted exclusively to small towns, rural areas, from Coal Country, to Indian Country to places in rural Pennsylvania, rural Arkansas, where nothing good has happened in a long time,” he said. Again, he concluded his speech by urging everyone to get out and vote. Watch a partial video from the event below.

Meanwhile, in Austin, Texas, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event included a conversation with Chris Sacca, Founder and Chairman of Lowercase Capital and star of ABC’s Shark Tank.

President Obama Campaigns for Hillary in Philadelphia

On Tuesday, President Barack Obama returned to the campaign trail on behalf of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine. During his speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the president spent as much time criticizing Republican Donald Trump as he did expressing his confidence in Clinton. Obama attacked Trump’s divisive claims and attacked his new-found dedication to working people. “This guy who spent 70 years on this earth showing no concern for working people — this guy’s suddenly going to be your champion?” he asked the crowd. He then spoke about his trust in Clinton’s judgement and confidence that she has a better vision for the future saying, “This is not the usual choice between parties and policies and left and right. This is more fundamental. This is a fundamental choice about who we are as a people. This is a choice about the very meaning of America.” A video of the president’s speech is below.

Hillary Clinton Diagnosed with Pneumonia

Update (9/12/2016): Hillary Clinton tweeted today that she is feeling better and anxious to return to the campaign trail.

This morning, Hillary Clinton attended a ceremony honoring the survivors and victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City. Clinton attended the event for about an hour an half before she left. She was seen stumbling as she got into a van provided by her security detail. Clinton’s campaign told members of the press that she left because she was feeling “overheated” and was taken to Chelsea Clinton’s apartment. She was seen leaving the apartment and returned to her back to her home where she was evaluated by her physician, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack. Dr. Bardack then released the following statement:

“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related on allergies. On Friday, during a follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotic, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”

Obviously the headline is that Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday, but the campaign only announced the diagnosis after this morning’s episode. Clinton and her campaign have been criticized for their lack of transparency, and Clinton’s health has been questioned. While the events of the day do nothing to help either case, we wish Clinton a speedy recovery. She is scheduled to campaign on the west coast this week.
