Hillary Clinton Holds Town Hall for Digital Content Creators

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton attended two fundraisers and held a town hall event for digital content creators in Los Angeles, California. During the event, Clinton spoke about her plans to cultivate innovation and assist young people with their startups. Clinton then took questions from those in attendance and spoke about a number of topics including job creation, foreign policy alliances, and her thoughts on Republican Donald Trump.

Clinton also unveiled her Initiative on Technology & Innovation on Tuesday. While some of the details were discussed at an event earlier in the day in Denver, more details were discussed during the evening’s town hall. The extensive plan includes proposals to assist entrepreneurs, improve the technology used in the United States, update existing infrastructure, expand computer science and STEM education, protect user privacy, and make government more technologically efficient. Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Leadership PAC Endorses Hillary Clinton

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton officially received the endorsement of the Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Leadership PAC. At an event in San Gabriel, California, the group announced their endorsement of Clinton for President of the United States. Among those in attendance for the event were Congresswoman Judy Chu, Congresswoman Doris O. Matsui, and other elected officials from the state of California. In a statement, Clinton said that she was honored to be endorsed by the group and she vowed to work with them to move the country forward. A copy of Clinton’s statement is below:

“I am honored to have earned the endorsement of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) Leadership PAC, which has been fighting for the AAPI community for decades.

As both First Lady and Senator from New York, I was proud to work with the AAPI community to build a fairer, freer, more tolerant and more inclusive America. During the 90s, the Clinton Administration launched the first-ever White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, so the federal government would be more deliberate about helping all parts of the AAPI community succeed. In the Senate, I fought to reduce the backlog for family visas and reunite immigrant families.

As President, I will fight alongside the AAPI community to at last pass comprehensive immigration reform with a path to full and equal citizenship. Still today, applicants from the Asia-Pacific region make up about 40 percent of the family visa backlog, and too many have waited decades to have the chance to be back with their families. Millions of people are eligible to become citizens and deserve the opportunity, but face real barriers to taking those last steps to naturalization. We can and we must address these challenges.

We will defend the Affordable Care Act and continue to improve it, by capping out-of-pocket costs, taking on runaway prescription drug prices, and continuing to expand enrollment. Hillary Clinton Unveils Plan to Help Military Families

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton released her plan to assist military families. The plan unveiled today builds upon a previously introduced plan to build upon the Department of Veteran Affairs and ensure veterans receive proper support after they have left the military. The plan includes provision that will not only ensure that the members of our military are supported, but their spouses and children will as well. • Realign the Demands of a Military Career in Service to the Nation to Accommodate 21st Century Family Realities While Maintaining a Strong Force
• Ensure that family leave policies meet the needs of our military families
• Increase access to child care for all service members in the Active Duty and Reserve who need it

• Create the ability to serve in different ways
• Officially include life-cycle and family considerations in permanent moves

Meanwhile, Clinton attended two fundraisers today. The first was in East Brunswick, New Jersey and included a conversation with Clinton and Senator Cory Booker. The event included a conversation with her, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and actress Julianna Margulies.

Bill Clinton Continues to Campaign for Hillary in California

On Sunday, Bill Clinton remained in California where he attended two events on behalf of Hillary Clinton. The first event was a United Farm Workers Convention in Bakersfield where he focused on the importance of the 2016 election. He said that people across the world are watching and look to the United States for leadership and allowing Donald Trump to spread hate and fear with have long reaching affects. He said, “We are now being looked at all over the world because these fears are present all over the world. Will we show the world a future of including diversity, shared prosperity, shared community and, yes, shared citizenship? Or will we say ‘Oh, it’s just too much. Never mind the facts, never mind the truth, never mind the human potential.'” A video of his speech is below.

Bill then traveled to Delano where he spoke at an organizing event. Speaking at Cesar Chavez High School, he continued to speak about the importance of 2016 election and why Hillary is the best candidate for the country. He spoke about a number of platform points and how the overall message of her campaign is unity and strength where Trump focuses on divisiveness and fear. He asked for voters’ support on June 7 saying, “If you want something done, you should elect Hillary for president of the United States. She’s the best single change-maker I’ve ever known.” A video from the event is below.

Two fundraisers were held on behalf Hillary for America. The first was in Oakland, California and included a conversation with Senior Policy Advisor Ann O’Leary. The event was hosted at the home of Colleen Chien. The second fundraising event was in Washington, Virginia. The event included a conversation with Governor Terry McAuliffe and was hosted by Laura Kennedy, Steph Ridder, Jane Whitfield, Salvatore Abbate, Heidi Lesinski, Anne Pallie, Thomas Pellikaan, and Kathy-Roth-Douquet. Meet HFA Campaign Chair John Podesta

This coming week’s issue of Time magazine Hillary has a feature about Hillary for America campaign chair John Podesta. When Hillary Clinton decided to run for president in 2016, she chose Podesta to run her campaign. The Clintons have known Podesta for over two decades and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, relied on him in the White House, making him chief of staff for the final years of his administration. Podesta’s key strengths are his leadership and his meticulous planning. He has been a visual part of Clinton’s campaign and has been seen rallying volunteers and supporters, and he has taken part in a number of fundraisers. Should Clinton win the Democratic nomination in June and the White House in November, a great deal of credit will be owed to Podesta’s ability to learn from the past and long-term strategies. Bill Clinton Campaigns in New York on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Bill Clinton spoke at three organizing events in New York before their primary on April 19. He began in Elmont where he discussed Hillary’s experience and her service to the state of New York as Senator. He said, “This election in so many ways, psychologically, is coming down to New York. We’ve got to send a message to America that Hillary was our senator, she delivered in New York … If you think what she did as senator, imagine what she could do as president.” He then went on to speak about a number of Hillary’s platform points and plans as president.

In Depew, Bill asked Hillary’s supporters to come out and vote for her on April 19 and urged them to ask their friends and family to support her as well. He spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and how it can have a lasting impact on the country. He said that Hillary’s experience and leadership would help incomes rise, grow the economy, and continue to improve heath care for everyone. Bill also spoke about the 2008 financial crash and explained that Republican policies were the root cause and that going back to those policies would only lead to the same results.

His final organizing event was held in Rochester where Bill spoke at a local union hall. During the speech, he spoke about labor rights and improving the economy for everyone, and not just those at the top. He said that Hillary was the best candidate because she is a change maker and will fight for what she believes in. He covered a wide variety of platform points in his speech before asking voters to support her in the upcoming primary. A video from the event is below.

Clinton Addresses Counterterrorism During Stanford Speech

Today, Hillary Clinton gave a speech at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Her speech focused on counterterrorism following the recent attacks in Brussels, Belgium, and the other ISIS led attacks that have been carried out across the world and in the United States. Clinton said that a response to terrorism is not one that should be made in anger, but should be handled with “steady hands.” Clinton said that she is the best candidate for taking on ISIS. She called for “strong, smart, steady leadership” and said that she is concerned by what she is hearing from Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. She criticized Trump and Cruz for calling for racial profiling of Muslims in the United States and increasing surveillance of Muslim Americans. She condemned such plans as wrong, counterproductive, and dangerous. A full video of her speech is below.

Bill and Chelsea Campaign on the West Coast

On Tuesday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton on the West Coast. In Washington, Chelsea made two stops in Tacoma where she spoke about her mother’s experience and leadership. During her first stop at Bates Technical College, she also spoke about the progress made by President Barack Obama and how important it is for a Democrat to succeed him in the White House. At both events, she urged voters to support Hillary in Saturday’s caucus saying, “I’m going to keep talking to as many people as I can here in Washington in advance of Saturday, but really around the country about what’s at stake and why standing on the sidelines is just not an option.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

While in Washington, Chelsea attended a lunch fundraiser in Seattle. The event took place at the home of Linda Derschang and was hosted by Derschang, Makini Howell, Tamara Murphy and Linda Morton, Molly Moon Neitzel, Angela and Ethan Stowell, and Washington Entrepreneurs for Hillary.

Bill meanwhile attended two fundraisers in California. The first was in Santa Barbara and was hosed by Susan Rose and Allan Ghitterman. The second event of the day was La Cañada Flintridge. The fundraiser was hosted by Teena Hostovich and John J. Kennedy at the home of Hostovich and Doug Martinet. As with all private events, the fundraisers were closed to the press.

Hillary Clinton Campaigns in IL, NC On Eve of Primaries

On Monday, Hillary Clinton attended events in Illinois and North Carolina, two states the vote in Democratic primaries tomorrow. Beginning in her hometown of Chicago, the first event was a stop at a non-profit organization in Pilsen where she spoke about her plans for immigration reform. She then went to the Kids Off the Block memorial which remembers child victims of gun violence. A video of her stop in Pilsen is below.

Clinton then spoke at a Get Out the Vote rally at a local Plumbers Hall where she spoke about her plans for gun control, heath care, the economy, and jobs. She spoke about how the Republicans have been harmful to the economy in the past and that the country cannot afford four years of Republican economic policies. She then argued that a president needs to be realistic and a strong leader saying, “No president can do it all. We’ve got to be honest about that. We need leadership and citizenship. We need everyone to reach out and help everyone, and I don’t believe we do that by insulting everyone, by dividing us against them.”

For the final event of the day, Clinton held a Get Out the Vote rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. Speaking to a crowd of 1,000 supporters, Clinton focused primarily on gun control and clean energy. On clean energy, she said that she would like to see 500 million new solar panels installed across the country by the end of her first term. Bill Clinton Campaigns in Iowa

With just five days remaining before the Iowa caucuses, Bill Clinton was in Iowa campaigning for Hillary. During an event in Mason City, Bill spoke about Hillary’s experience and how she is the most experienced candidate in the race. He said that there are three questions on which a public figure should be judged: are people better off because of what they’ve done?; have they improved the outlook for future generations?; and have things come together because of their leadership? He said that for Hillary, the answer is “yes” on all three.

He also spoke about her plans for the economy and raising the minimum wage. He called Hillary a problem solver, and urged voters to caucus for her on Monday. He said, “You’ll never have another opportunity to vote for someone who has done so much for so many in and out of public office.” A video from yesterday’s event will be posted when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton was fundraising in New York City for Hillary on Wednesday. The first event was held at SoulCycle TriBeCa where a “Ride with Chelsea” event was held. Her second event was a LGBT reception that also featured Hillary for America Campaign Manager Robby Mook and tennis champion Billie Jean King.
