Kaine and Holton Visit with Supporters in New Hampshire

Tim Kaine and Anne Holton campaigned in four New Hampshire cities today. Kaine and his wife stopped at two Hillary for America offices and a local Democratic party office today where they spoke with volunteers and Holton helped out with a phone bank. Kaine and Holton visited offices in Dover, Laconia, Manchester, and Nashua. At three of the four events, Kaine and Holton spoke with Hillary Clinton supporters as well as campaign volunteers. Kaine thanked the volunteers and urged them to keep fighting. He also spoke with voters urging them to come out and support himself and Clinton in November.

At the event in Manchester, Kaine and Holton took part in a roundtable discussion at Manchester Community College. The discussion focused on education and featured a professor from the college and former Governor John Lynch. Holton is the former Secretary of Education for the state of Virginia, and she and Kaine spoke about the importance of higher education and ensuring that students are not burdened by loan debt after college. He said, “We ought to be able to do college debt-free. Other nations do that.” Videos from the events in Laconia and Nashua are below and other videos from the day will be added when/if available.

Clintons Head to New Hampshire

Following Hillary Clinton’s narrow win in Iowa, Clinton turned her focus to New Hampshire, which holds its primary on February 9. Clinton is currently behind in the polls, and both Bill and Hillary appeared at the first event in Nashua. Bill spoke first about Hillary’s ability to change things. When Hillary took the stage, she focused on the issue including clean energy, heath care, and climate change. A video from the event in Nashua is below.

Bill then spoke at an event in Laconia where he gave a speech about Hillary’s experience and her plans as president and how she differs from Democratic rival Bernie Sanders.

The final event of the day was in Hampton where Hillary was introduced by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords. Hillary then gave a speech highlighting her proposals for gun control, heath care, and her pledge to not raise taxes on the middle class. She said that she understood why many in New Hampshire supported Sanders, but she asked them to think long term and going up against the Republican nominee in November. She said, “You all are going to be giving us the once over, the twice over, the thrice over, and I welcome it, because this needs to be a contest of ideas about who is ready to be our president and our commander-in-chief starting next January.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Clinton Back in New Hampshire – Day 1

Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton kicked off a 3-day visit to New Hampshire with stops in Nashua and Laconia. Her first stop in Nashua focused on substance abuse. In a Town Hall event, Clinton discussed her $10 million plan to address drug and alcohol abuse at the community level. She unveiled the initiative a few weeks ago. She expressed her surprise about how many people have talked to her about their struggles with substance abuse and how drugs has affected their community. She also answered a number of questions from those in attendance.

Clinton’s second stop was in Laconia at the Boys and Girls Club. The community event also focused on substance abuse and her plans to combat it. She stressed the importance of understanding the treatment of those affected saying, “This is a disease. This is a chronic condition that has to be interrupted and treated and prevented if possible. Left untended, it’s only going to get worse. The numbers are only going to get higher.” A video from Clinton’s speech in Laconia is below.

Tomorrow, Clinton is scheduled to make two appearances in New Hampshire and one in Maine. At an event at the University of New Hampshire, she is expected to receive the endorsement of New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan.
