On Thursday, Hillary Clinton’s campaign responded to claims made by Donald Trump that President Barack Obama and Clinton are founders of ISIS. When asked to clarify whether he believed that President Obama is truly the founder of ISIS, he replied, “I do. He was the most valuable player. I give him the most valuable player award. I give her, too, by the way, Hillary Clinton.” Hillary for America’s senior policy advisor Jake Sullivan responded to Trump’s comments with the following statement:

“This is another example of Donald Trump trash-talking the United States.  It goes without saying that this is a false claim from a presidential candidate with an aversion to the truth and an unprecedented lack of knowledge.  What’s remarkable about Trump’s comments is that once again, he’s echoing the talking points of Putin and our adversaries to attack American leaders and American interests, while failing to offer any serious plans to confront terrorism or make this country more secure.”

Canada 2020 Conference

Monday, October 6, 2014

Hillary Clinton Attends Annual Tom Harkin Steak Fry In IowaHillary Rodham Clinton appeared at a conference sponsored by the think tank Canada 2020. The focus of her speech was largely on foreign issues, particularly the terrorist groups Boko Haram and ISIL. Clinton expressed her concern over ISIL and its growing influence saying, “I think the evidence is convincing, at least to me, that this is a group that will try to pick up where Al Qaeda in Afghanistan left off. What we were able to do, at great cost, to ferret out and decapitate the leadership of Al Qaeda, severely undermined their capacity as an organization.” Clinton expressed her support for military action to stop the group from expanding its territory and spreading its tactics.
