Last week, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended events in San Francisco and Los Angeles. On Friday, she attended three fundraisers in Hollywood that were attended by Leonardo DiCaprio, Dustin Lance Black, Elizabeth Banks, Howard Gordon, and Bruce Cohen. The events took place at the homes of HBO’s Michael Lombardo and actor Tobey Maguire. Earlier in the day, Clinton also attended a fundraiser at the home of Westfield Corp co-CEO Peter Lowy. She is reported to have addressed a number of issues, including the recent shooting in a Charleston, South Carolina church. All three events were closed to the press.
Saturday, Clinton addressed the The US Conference of Mayors where she called for stronger gun restrictions following the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. She acknowledged that there is still work to be done with regard to race relations. She said, “Despite our best efforts and our highest hopes, America’s long struggle with race is far from finished. I know this is a difficult topic to talk about. I know that so many of us hoped by electing our first black president, we had turned the page on this chapter in our history. I know there are truths we do not like to say out loud or discus with our children. But we have to.”
Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to Nevada to attend two major campaign events. Her first event was in Las Vegas where she spoke to the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Office (NALEO). Clinton outlined the four fights of her campaign, and focused specifically on expanding funding for preschool programs. She said, “All of our kids need the opportunity to get off the to the best possible start, but too many children are getting behind.”
Clinton also spoke about voter rights and called for universal voter registration saying, “We should be making it easier to vote, not putting up barriers that disempower and disenfranchise Americans. Who are those barriers aimed at: young people, poor people and people of color.” She also focused on immigration, saying that if Congress refused to act on immigration, she would further expand the executive orders President Barack Obama has enacted. She also vowed to limit the the number of deportations, and her goal is comprehensive immigration reform.
In Reno, Clinton hosted a roundtable with a number of veterans. She spoke about her plans to maintain the world’s most powerful military. However, her primary concern is the struggles of veterans returning from combat and the delay of Veterans Affairs providing care. Clinton said veteran care is not a partisan issue, “No matter what we disagree on, we must agree on taking care of our vets.”

Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to South Carolina where she gave a speech at Trident Technical College in North Charleston where the focus on her speech was on technical education. She said that technical colleges have a reputation that is often unfair as they teach vital skills to our economy. Clinton said that she would propose a $1500 tax credit for businesses who offer apprenticeship programs.
She said that her primary focus is going to be on those who are struggling financially. Clinton said that is hoping to work with Republicans to help those who are struggling. She said, “I want to ask my Republican friends, and I had a lot of them when I was in the Senate, to think hard about how we can invest in the people who need it most.”
Clinton rolling out her platform as she attends events across the country. She outlined her “four fights” last weekend in New York, and she continues to provide details about specific policies she intends to roll out if elected.

Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to the Granite State on Monday where she made three stops: Rochester, Concord, and Manchester. In Manchester this evening, Clinton attended a Flag Day dinner, but the main two events took place earlier in the day. In Rochester, she attended an early childhood education summit at the YMCA where she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and her plan to provide universal preschool across the country. Before leaving the YMCA, Clinton took time to read a book to the children.
In Concord, Clinton held a campaign rally where she made it clear that her campaign was not about her husband, former President Bill Clinton, or President Barack Obama. She is running as herself. She said, “I will do what works … and I will be laying out policies that will give you a very clear idea of the direction I will head.” She reiterated the four fights that she spoke first about at the campaign rally held in New York on Saturday.

Following yesterday’s campaign rally, Clinton took her campaign message on the road today to Des Moines, Iowa. Speaking to a crowd at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, Clinton covered a number of points that she hit on yesterday during the kick-off rally in New York, including the Four Fights that serve as the basis of her campaign platform.
For the first time, Clinton addressed the Trans Pacific Partnership trade proposal that has been opposed by Democrats in Congress. She expressed concern about the deal in its current form, but believes that the right partnership can benefit the United States. She said, “I kind of fall in the group that says ‘what’s in it?’ And ‘let’s make it as good as it can be, and then let’s make a decision.'”
While she was in Iowa, Clinton also stopped at a fundraiser in Burlington where she spoke with a group of about 80 people. The focus of her conversation was mental health, a subject that she has learned about by talking to people early in the campaign. She said, “That’s why I do this, I know people are interested to get the razzle-dazzle and the big rallies, but I want to hear from the people, I want to know whats actually happening so that I can come up with proposals that may actually change people’s lives.”

In her first official campaign rally held at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island in New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined what she called the “four fights” of her campaign. Throughout the 45 minute speech, Clinton made references to her experience as a lawyer, Senator, Secretary of State, and as a mother and grandmother. The theme of the speech was the prosperity of Americans, and she shared stories from people she has met and her mother to make her points. In her speech, Clinton also criticized Republicans for not looking forward and believing too much in “yesterday.” She vowed to fight for everyday Americans and prepare the United States for the future.
The key to her speech was the “four fights.” She outlined what those will be, but said that said will outline specific policy changes in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, her vision is clearly outlined by the four fights:
Economy: Clinton outlined a number of changes that would serve to strengthen the economy including strengthening the middle class, increasing the minimum wage, providing equal pay for women, making it illegal to discriminate against LBGT workers, rewriting the tax code, and focusing on lifelong learning that will allow works to adapt to a changing workplace. She also called for more affordable college for everyone and improving the infrastructure by creating an infrastructure bank that would sell bonds to help fund improvements roads, bridges, power grids, and broadband Internet. She called for protecting the environment by investing in clean energy and ending the denial of climate change. All these changes, which she will continue to outline in the coming weeks, will create jobs and improve the lives of American workers.
Family: Families have struggled since the recession and Clinton believes that more attention needs to be paid to helping families by guaranteeing paid sick days, paid family leave, pre-school and child care. She also wants to focus on the uneven incarceration polices and provide help to those suffering with mental health issues and addiction.
America’s Leadership: America has long been the leader in the world, but for America to maintain its leadership and influence, Clinton argues that we have not only show strength in our military, but we have to create economic and diplomatic partnerships across the globe. At the same time, we have to stand up to our adversaries and stand by our allies. We need to be better prepared against cyber attacks and provide better services to our veterans after they have served our country.
Governmental Reform: Clinton argued that now is the time to take government out of corporate hands and back into the hands of Americans. She called for stopping the flow of unaccountable campaign funds, undoing Citizens United, and improving government technology so it is more open to the pubic. She also called for improvements to voting including universal registration, longer early voting periods, and ensuring that voting rights are protected despite the Supreme Court’s recent decision.
Clinton’s speech is only the beginning of the next phase of her campaign. Over the coming weeks, Clinton will travel across the country to spread her message and continue to flesh out her campaign platform. Tomorrow is the kick-off rally for Hillary for America on Roosevelt Island in New York. Hillary Rodham Clinton will give a major speech that is expected to begin to outline her platform for her 2016 presidential campaign. Since announcing her campaign in April, Clinton has been holding roundtable events gathering information. In the background, her political team has been meeting with advisers and gathering information on a wide range of topics including economic policy, LBGT rights, income inequality, women’s rights, and immigration. Following the rally tomorrow, Clinton begins a cross-country campaign where she will continue to flesh out her platform.
Attendees will be allowed in the park at 9:30 AM and Clinton is expected to give her speech in the late morning, but a time has yet to be announced. Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended two private fundraisers in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The first took place in Newton, Massachusetts at the home of Margot and Jonathan Davis. The second fundraiser was held at the home of Mark Weiner in East Greenwich, Rhode Island with former Providence Mayor Joseph Paolino in attendance.

The Ready for Hillary PAC has revamped its website as it prepares for Clinton to make her decision about running for president in 2016. The PAC was formed in January 2013 as she was leaving the State Department. The goal was to raise money to prepare for a possible 2016 run, and to show Clinton that a support base exists for her 2016 run.
After a year, Ready for Hillary announced that they raised $4 million in its first year. Beginning its second year, the PAC has redesigned its website and is continuing to build a grassroots donor base. We urge everyone who supports a 2016 run by Clinton to Support Ready for Hillary by donating or shopping in their store.
