Yesterday, two major stars joined the Hillary for America ranks in support of Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail. Actress Lena Dunham and US Women’s Soccer star Abby Wambach spent Friday traveling around New Hampshire talking to voters and fans about Clinton and why they support her as our next president. They both spoke about issues that are important to them including women’s rights and LGBT issues. Wambach said, “I want to see Hillary Clinton in the office. She has amazing, amazing stamina. She’s smart and she has been basically doing it by herself as a woman alone among all other men for how many years. It’s time people. It’s time for women to be seen as real equals.”

Dunham and Wambach appeared together at an event in Portsmouth before they attended individual events in Manchester, Dover, Concord, Salem, Lebanon, and Keene. Wambach even took part in a phone bank call out campaign in Concord. Dunham concluded the day by attending an evening event in Chicago.

Today, Dunham was in Des Moines and Iowa City holding conversation events. Dunham and Wambach weren’t the only supporters on trail for Hillary this week. Former President Bill Clinton hosted a number of organizing events in New Hampshire and Iowa. He also attended a number of fundraisers. Today and tomorrow in Iowa, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe will meet with volunteers and supporters as they prepare to go out and knock on doors or make phone calls in support of Hillary.

2015 Year in Review

This year has been busy for Hillary Clinton. Before announcing her presidential campaign on April 12, Clinton gave a number of paid speeches. But after announcing her campaign, Clinton began traveling around the country visiting with Americans and hosting rallies and town halls. As she has visited 38 states and spoke with thousands of Americans, she has outlined a solid platform and her vision for the future of America. By my count, Clinton hosted or attended over 250 events this year, and her schedule is sure to pickup as primary season begins. Below are some of the 2015 stats released by Hillary for America:

• 38 states visited (plus Washington, DC and Puerto Rico)
• 92% of donations are $200 or less

As for 2016, it is going to be an important year with the first Democratic primaries beginning in just over a month. On a personal note, this website is an individual effort. I started this site in 2013 with the primary goal of providing easy access to Clinton’s speeches as she traveled across the country because I know the frustration of trying to locate videos and details from rallies she has held in the past. This year, there were 268 posts added to the site, and by my count, there are 241 events listed on the 2015 archive page. It has been a busy, but exciting year. The highlight for me was getting to attend Clinton’s rally in Tulsa earlier this month. After a successful 2015, Hillary Clinton Speeches begins 2016 with a new a look, but the same goal…providing everyone with the latest Hillary Clinton news from the campaign trail.

With over 210,000 page views and hundreds of new followers on WordPress, Facebook, and Twitter in 2015, I want to thank everyone for their continued support. I am looking forward to 2016 and electing Hillary Clinton as the 45th President of the United States!

First Democratic Debate Tomorrow on CNN

CNN has released full details of tomorrow night’s Democratic debate from Las Vegas, Nevada which will feature Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee. Vice President Joe Biden, who has not formally announced his candidacy, was invited to participate, but will not. The debate will be moderated by Anderson Cooper with Dana Bash and Juan Carlos Lopez also asking questions. Coverage begins at 8:30 PM ET on CNN and on CNN.com (we will post a link to the live stream before the debate begins). You can submit questions for the moderators to ask the candidates on Facebook and Instagram.

This is the first of six debates between the Democratic candidates. The other five debates are scheduled for:

• November 14, 2015 – Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa (CBS)
• December 19, 2015 – Manchester, New Hampshire (ABC)
• January 17, 2016 – Charleston, South Carolina (NBC)
• February/March 2016 – Miami, Florida (Univision)

Clinton Celebrates with the Foundry United Methodist Church

This morning, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended the service celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, DC. Clinton attended the service with Bill and Chelsea. She addressed the congregation and spoke about her upbringing in the Methodist Church describing herself as “Methodist both by birth and by choice.” The Clintons were members of the Foundry United Methodist Church during President Clinton’s terms as president.

Clinton also took a moment to talk about her relationship with the press, which has been described as cold and distant. She said, “I got some advice from Dr. Wogaman just earlier this morning, which I promise I will put into effect. Basically he said, if you’re going to read and listen to Romans 12 you got to be nicer to the press. So, to my friends in the press, I will certainly take that to heart.” Over the last few weeks, Clinton has been more open with the press holding press conferences and granting national interviews, something that is expected to continue into the fall. Clinton Visits Ohio and Wisconsin

On Thursday, Hillary Rodham Clinton made two appearances at Women for Hillary organizational rallies. The first was in Columbus, Ohio where she talked about women’s issues and her pledge to defend Planned Parenthood. In a clear reference to presidential candidate Donald Trump, she told the crowd of 500 that she was looking forward to debating “one particular candidate who just seems to delight in insulting women every chance he gets.” A full video of the speech is below (we apologize for the quality, and it will be replaced when/if another video is made available).

Her second stop was in Wisconsin, her first visit to the state since launching her presidential campaign. The event was held at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she focused on labor issue, and in particular, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s stance against unions. Clinton attacked Walker, now a Republican presidential candidate, saying, “What happens when you’re a proud union member and you have a governor who wants to drive you out?” She pledged her support for labor unions across Wisconsin and the country. Clinton Apologizes for Using Private Email

Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton was interviewed by David Muir and portions of his interview with her aired on World News Tonight. In the interview, Clinton apologized for using a private email server as Secretary of State and acknowledged that she could have done a better job of explaining herself when the story came to light earlier this year. Muir then asked Clinton about her rival Donald Trump and why is running for president again after losing the Democratic nomination in 2008.

Clinton Celebrates Labor Day in Iowa

To celebrate Labor Day, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended a number of Labor Day events across the state of Iowa. In Cedar Rapids, she was interviewed by the Associated Press where she was questioned about her email server, her presidential campaign, and her rivals. The primary purpose of the day for Clinton was to celebrate organized labor by attending a number of celebrations across the state. The topics that she focused on were income inequity, the minimum wage, and unions’ rights to collectively bargain. She addressed the Hawkeye Labor Council AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic in Cedar Rapids before heading to the Quad Cities area of Iowa and Illinois.

Clinton continued her focus on labor topics at the Quad City Federation of Labor’s Salute to Labor Chicken Fry in Hampton. She spoke about the importance of organized labor and its historical relevance. She pledged to support labor unions if she is elected president. While in Hampton, Clinton also received an endorsement from Iowa Representative Dave Loebsack. A video from Clinton’s speech in Hampton is below.

This week, Clinton is scheduled to give a speech in Washington, DC supporting the agreement with Iran on Wednesday, appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, and is scheduled to make appearances in Ohio and Wisconsin on Thursday. Clintons Attend Hamptons Fundraiser

On Sunday evening, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended a private fundraiser at the home of Hilary Leff in East Hampton, New York. Former President Bill Clinton joined his wife for the fundraiser and mingled with guests. During the event, Clinton spoke briefly about her platform and about the current agreement between the United States and Iran, which is currently facing an up-hill battle in Congress. Clinton has supported the agreement and mentioned that she plans to give a speech on September 9 directly addressing the agreement. More details about the upcoming speech will be posted to the Scheduled Events page as they are made available.

As with all private fundraisers, the event was closed to the press and public.

Clinton Kicks off Iowa Visit

On Friday, Hillary Rodham Clinton kicked off her trip to Iowa for the Iowa State Fair. Her visit began as she received the endorsement of former Iowa Senator Tom Harkin. She began the day in Dubuque where she held a town hall discussing college affordability. After unveiling her plan earlier this week, Clinton expanded upon her proposal explaining that she would raise taxes on those who are more wealthy to help off-set the cost. The plan, which would cost $350 billion over 10 years, will make college more affordable and help those with student loans. “We have to make a quality education affordable and available without saddling young people with decades of debt,” she said. Clinton then spent time answering questions from the audience. A full video from the event is below.

Friday evening, Clinton attended the Iowa Democratic Wing Ding. She gave a speech to a large, receptive crowd, and she continued to talk about college affordability. But also used the opportunity to attack her Republican rivals by criticizing the their record and how strikingly similar the candidates appear. She said, “Don’t let the circus distract you, if you look at their policies, most of the other candidates are just Trump without the pizzazz or the hair. Yes, Mr. Trump says outrageous and hateful things about immigrants but how many of the other candidates disagree with him?” A full video from the Wing Ding is available on MSNBC. Clinton Pitches College Tuition Plan in New Hampshire

On Monday, Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled what she is calling the “New College Compact” in which she pledges to make college more affordable for students. She proposes to accomplish this by making more grants and low interest loans available while lowering the cost of education. The plan is estimated to cost $350 billion over 10 years. Speaking at Exeter High School, she said, “College is supposed to help people achieve their dreams, but more and more paying for college actually pushes those dreams further and further out of reach. That is a betrayal of everything college is supposed to represents.”

The plan includes a number of proposals to keep tuition low and the schools invested in their students. One of the proposals is called “skin-in-the-game” where a college is fined for any student who cannot pay off their student loans. She would continue President Barack Obama’s plan to provide free community college, crack down on for-profit institutions, and simplify income-based repayment plans for student loan borrowers. Read more about the plan HERE. Clinton outlined her plan in a speech given at Exeter high school and took questions from those in attendance. Then, she held a press conference answering questions from reporters.

On Tuesday, Clinton remained in New Hampshire and took her college affordability plan to River Valley Community College in Claremont. Clinton discussed the plan she unveiled on Monday, but went further attacking Republican presidential candidate Scott Walker for cutting higher education funding as governor of Wisconsin. She said, “You take somebody like Governor Walker of Wisconsin who seems to be delighted in slashing the investment in higher education in his state. Eliminating the opportunities for young people who are doctors or dentists to actually work in underserved areas in return for having their debts relieved; ending scholarships for poor kids; and most surprisingly to me, rejecting legislation that would have made it tax deductible for you, on your income tax, to deduct the amount of your loan payment.” A video from Clinton’s speech on Tuesday is below:
