On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton was honored at the annual Stephen Weiss Apple Awards in New York City. She spoke briefly at the event thanking designer Donna Karen. Clinton’s speech was primarily focused on the award ceremony, but she did speak about the importance of continuing in the event of a setback. She said, “It’s easy to be grateful when things go your way, but when things don’t, how you find the resilience in the face of setbacks, how you call on the inner strength that you search for—how you stick with it, well gratitude is one of the ways you can make that happen. To have the gratitude and the inspiration that you need.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

As part of an annual tradition, Bill and Hillary Clinton took part in the annual Memorial Day parade in their hometown of Chappaqua, New York. Despite the rainy morning, the Clintons, Governor Andrew Cuomo, and parade goers celebrated the holiday to honor service members.

Clinton Slams Trump During Speech at Children’s Health Fund

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton was honored by the Children’s Health Fund, and she addressed a gathering of the organization’s members and supporters. During her speech, Clinton criticized President Donald Trump for the budget his administration proposed this week. She said that “this administration and Republicans in Congress are mounting an onslaught against the needs of children and people with disabilities, women and seniors.” The Trump budget calls for cuts in a number of programs that benefit the poor and disabled including food stamps and Medicaid. Clinton urged everyone to stand up to the president and Congressional Republicans saying, “It hurts the well-being of children. Clinton Honors Oscar de la Renta at USPS Event

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke at an event honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The United States Postal Service unveiled a new set of stamps honoring de la Renta and his work. Speaking at Grand Central Terminal, Clinton spoke about her friendship with de la Renta and his wife and praised his contribution to the world of fashion. She said, “Oscar de la Renta was an immigrant. And aren’t we proud and grateful that he was?” Others attending the event included Diane von Furstenberg, Valentino Garavani, Anna Wintour, and Michael Bloomberg.
