Vice President Biden Campaigns in Harrisburg, Scranton

Vice President Joe Biden remained in Pennsylvania on Sunday where he campaigned for Hillary Clinton at two events. He began with a rally in Harrisburg where he spoke about the importance of not underestimating Donald Trump and getting out to vote on Tuesday. Biden said that that the best way to ensure that Clinton and other Democrats is elected is by voting and getting friends a family to vote as well. In Scranton, Biden spoke on the campus of Johnson College saying that he was happy to back in his hometown. During his speech, Biden outlined a number of Clinton’s key platform points saying that her optimistic and inclusive plan for the future is better than the divisive vision offered by Trump. He challenged Trump’s “make America great again” slogan saying, “We are already a great country. We went from crisis to recovery and now we are moving toward resurgence.” Biden warned that Trump will take the progress and throw it out the window if elected. Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Pennsylvania

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton hit the campaign trail in Pennsylvania with her first event being in Haverford. The event was a town hall on families that featured Chelsea Clinton and actress Elizabeth Banks. During the event, Clinton spoke about a number of her policies and how they will help American families. She spoke about the importance of early childhood education, health care, police policies, women’s rights, criminal justice reform, climate change, and the economy. She said, “I want to do everything possible to put kids and families front and center, to make sure that we provide the opportunities that families deserve to have to have good jobs with rising incomes, the ability to pay for the necessities of life, affordable child care, affordable college.” A video from the event is below.

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event in Harrisburg where she encouraged everyone to register to vote. She said that voting is important in our democracy because it gives everyone a voice. Clinton said that even supporters of her rival, Republican Donald Trump, should register and vote because it is their civic duty, but if she elected, she will be be their president too. Clinton then outlined about a number of key points to her platform saying that she wants to focus on “kitchen table issues” which are the issues that affect the everyday lives of Americans. She continued, “By creating more fairness, we’re going to give people a chance to have better jobs with rising income.” A video from the Harrisburg rally is below.

Following her rally in Harrisburg, Clinton held a press conference during which she continued to speak about recent revelations from Trump’s 1995 tax return and the money his businesses lost in the mid-1990s. She then answered questions from reporters about a range of topics including recent polling numbers, Tim Kaine’s debate later tonight, and health care. A full video of the press event is below.

Clinton, Kaine Kick off Bus Tour in Pennsylvania and Ohio

Following the Democratic National Convention, Hillary Clinton and running mate Tim Kaine hit the road for a bus tour through Pennsylvania and Ohio. They kicked off the tour down the street from the Convention hall at Temple University. During her speech, Clinton argued that while her nomination is historic, it demonstrates the potential of America. She said that while no one in the time of the founding of the country would have imagined a woman presidential nominee, she believes that what makes America great is that significant events lead to new opportunities for everyone. Clinton said, “But contrary to Donald Trump, I believe every time we knock down a barrier in America, it liberates everyone in America.” A video of her speech is below.

The bus tour continued with a stop in Montgomery County and a tour of a K’nex factory, and she briefly spoke to the employees about her plan to boost manufacturing. Clinton and Kaine then traveled to Harrisburg where they continued to speak about Clinton’s plan to improve the nation’s infrastructure and create millions of jobs in the process. She said that the plan would be the largest jobs plan since World War II, and she pledged to introduce the plan to Congress during her first 100 days in office. Bill Clinton Campaigns in PA, Chelsea in MD

On Thursday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton were on the campaign trail on behalf of Hillary Clinton. Bill spoke to a crowd of supporters at the Keystone Building in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and he emphasized Hillary’s experience and her plans to create jobs, reduce student debt, and continue health care reform. The focus of his speech was equality and ensuring that everyone in America was benefiting from the country’s successes. He said that the country is stronger when everyone rises together. Bill argued that is Hillary’s primary concern. He said, “She always finds a way to make something good happen. That’s why she should be president.” Bill also attended a evening fundraiser in Westport, Connecticut. A video from today’s event will be added when/if available.

Chelsea held three organizing events in Maryland to encourage early voting and to rally support for her mother before next week’s primary. She spoke at events in Silver Springs, Beltsville, and Randallstown. At each of the events, she spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and why Hillary is the best choice for president. She pointed to Hillary’s experience and said that this election is “the most important election in my lifetime.” Chelsea took questions from attendees on a number of topics including her mother’s Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, the refinancing of student loans, and the perception of Hillary being untrustworthy.
