Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Pennsylvania

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton hit the campaign trail in Pennsylvania with her first event being in Haverford. The event was a town hall on families that featured Chelsea Clinton and actress Elizabeth Banks. During the event, Clinton spoke about a number of her policies and how they will help American families. She spoke about the importance of early childhood education, health care, police policies, women’s rights, criminal justice reform, climate change, and the economy. She said, “I want to do everything possible to put kids and families front and center, to make sure that we provide the opportunities that families deserve to have to have good jobs with rising incomes, the ability to pay for the necessities of life, affordable child care, affordable college.” A video from the event is below.

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event in Harrisburg where she encouraged everyone to register to vote. She said that voting is important in our democracy because it gives everyone a voice. Clinton said that even supporters of her rival, Republican Donald Trump, should register and vote because it is their civic duty, but if she elected, she will be be their president too. Clinton then outlined about a number of key points to her platform saying that she wants to focus on “kitchen table issues” which are the issues that affect the everyday lives of Americans. She continued, “By creating more fairness, we’re going to give people a chance to have better jobs with rising income.” A video from the Harrisburg rally is below.

Following her rally in Harrisburg, Clinton held a press conference during which she continued to speak about recent revelations from Trump’s 1995 tax return and the money his businesses lost in the mid-1990s. Chelsea Clinton, Anne Holton Encourage Voter Registration

On Friday, Chelsea Clinton and Anne Holton held campaign events focused on voter registration. Chelsea began her day in Green Bay, Wisconsin where she spoke about the importance of registering to vote before the deadline. She also spoke about a number of Hillary Clinton’s proposals if elected president including her plans to raise the minimum wage, pass gun safety legislation, and raise taxes on the top earners while leaving middle class taxes where they are today. Chelsea urged voters to consider their children and the next generation of Americans saying, “Whoever we elect, will play a profound role in shaping the future that my children and the generation they grow up in.” She then took questions from those in attendance. Chelsea then traveled to Traverse City, Michigan where she spoke to a group of Hillary supporters and potential voters at Kirkbride Hall. Again, Chelsea held a townhall style event taking questions from the audience. She said, “I’m wanting to talk to anyone who wants to talk to me. I was so just touched that so many people came out today here, took time out of their busy Fridays to kind of listen to me make the case for my mom.” Some of the topics covered included the military and veterans, Hillary’s plans to combat climate change, and the rising cost of a college education. Holton traveled to Iowa where she spoke at events in Charles City and Mason City. She said that she is exited to be on the campaign trail while her husband, Tim Kaine, prepares for Tuesday’s vice presidential debate. Holton spoke to those in attendance about the importance of voting and encouraged voters to take advantage of Iowa’s early voting option. She also spoke about a number of issues, but her primary topic was education. As the former Secretary of Education for Virginia, that is her topic of expertise, and Hillary recognized her strength in that subject area. Hotlon said, “The key thing Hillary [Clinton] has asked me to do on the campaign trail is to listen to educators, teachers, students, parents and bring back ideas.” A video from today’s events will be posted when/if available.

In Brooklyn, New York, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event included a conversation with actress Scarlett Johansson and Scott M. Stringer, New York City Comptroller.

Kaine Campaigns in Houston, Chelsea in Flint

On Friday, Tim Kaine and Chelsea Clinton remained on the campaign trail as Hillary Clinton prepares for Monday night’s debate. In Houston, Texas, Kaine spoke at a rally at a local union hall where he spoke about Hillary’s plans and the importance of Texas in November’s election. “We look at what you’re doing … and we’re very, very proud of it. We can feel the spirit, the energy. We can see a state that has been red, a state moving in the best direction,” he said. Following his speech, Kaine continued to a series of fundraisers in Austin, but he held a surprise press appearance with about 40 Hispanic Texas officials who announced their endorsement of Hillary and Kaine. Chelsea Clinton spent the day in Flint, Michigan where she began with a news conference with Flint Mayor Karen Weaver and Representative Dan Kildee. During the press event, Chelsea and Mayor Weaver spoke about the improvements made in Flint since the beginning of the water crisis, but both cautioned that there is still work to be done. Chelsea urged Congress to act and approve emergency funding to assist with the cleaning of the city’s water supply. Hillary Clinton Talks about the Economy During Vegas Campaign Stop

Hillary Clinton made two stops in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday. She began her visit with a tour of Mojave Electric, a company that manufactures state of the art electrical components. She made brief remarks praising the company’s locally made products and their apprenticeship program. Clinton then went to the IBEW Local 357 Hall where she spoke to a crowd of supporters. After being introduced by Senator Harry Reid, Clinton outlined her plans to continue building the economy by focusing on jobs and education. She also discussed her plans to invest in clean energy and improve the country’s infrastructure as a way to create jobs. Clinton attacked Donald Trump again for not having contracts from American businesses for his products saying, “He talks a lot about how he’s going to grow the economy and yet he doesn’t make things in America.” A video from the rally is below.

Hillary Clinton Holds Town Hall for Digital Content Creators

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton attended two fundraisers and held a town hall event for digital content creators in Los Angeles, California. During the event, Clinton spoke about her plans to cultivate innovation and assist young people with their startups. Clinton then took questions from those in attendance and spoke about a number of topics including job creation, foreign policy alliances, and her thoughts on Republican Donald Trump.

Clinton also unveiled her Initiative on Technology & Innovation on Tuesday. Hillary Clinton campaigned in California on Wednesday. Her first event was held in Buena Park where she addressed a crowd of supporters at UFCW Union Local 324. After being introduced by actress Jamie Lee Curtis, Clinton spoke about the importance of unity and how she is direct opposition to Republican nominee Donald Trump’s tenancy to divide people. She, again, spoke about the benefit of building bridges instead of walls when working out national issues. She said, “He is scapegoating everyone. That’s good for reality TV. But you’ve got to work with people.” She went on to speak about a number of her platform points including continuing to work to improve health care and bringing down the cost of higher education before asking for voters’ support on June 7.

Clinton also outlined her proposal to rebuild the nations infrastructure. She vowed to implement the plan during her first 100 days in office. The plan includes provisions that will:

• Deliver the most significant increase in infrastructure investment since President Eisenhower built the Interstate Highway System
• Connect every household in America to affordable broadband and lead the world into next-generation wireless
• Develop transportation technology of tomorrow
• Make America the clean energy superpower of the 21st century with a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient electric grid
• Eliminate the chose points of commerce
• Revitalize public schools in every ZIP code and invest in communities being left out and left behind
• Build American airports that are the envy of the world
• Leverage private capital through public-private partnerships and ensure that taxpayer dollars are put to good use

Clinton then spoke at an organizing event in Salinas. Speaking at Hartnell College, she focused on working with Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. She argued that the United States is better served welcoming immigrants than working to keep them out. Again, she attacked Trump for his plans to build a wall along the border between the United States and Mexico. Clinton did discuss a number of other platform points before asking for voter’s support in the California primary.

Hillary Clinton Kicks Off Three Days of Campaigning in California

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton attended three events in California with the first being a discussion on foster care in Los Angeles. During the small discussion event, she toured a foster care facility with Representative Karen Bass. She also spoke with a number of families. Clinton then traveled to Commerce where she attended a discussion with working families. The event was held at a local union hall and she criticized Republican nominee Donald Trump during the event for rooting for the housing crisis saying, “He actually said he was hoping for the crash that caused hardworking families in California and across America to lose their homes. All because he thought he could take advantage of it and make some money for himself.”

Clinton’s final event of the day was an organizing event in Riverside. She continued to criticize Trump for a number of his proposals and explained that it is important for everyone to be working together and not incite fear and divisiveness. She spoke about a number of her platform points including continuing to create new jobs, continuing to grow the economy, raising the minimum wage, and expanding health care so 100% of Americans are covered. She concluded by asking for voters’ support during the primary on June 7.

Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Louisville and Fort Mitchell

Before voters head to the polls Tuesday in the Kentucky Democratic primary, Hillary Clinton has several Get Out the Vote events scheduled for Sunday and Monday. Today, she began in Louisville where attended morning church services at St. Stephen Church and Canaan Christian Church before heading to a public event at a South Louisville union hall. During the Get Out the Vote event, Clinton spoke about her plans to improve the country’s infrastructure and create thousands of jobs in the process. She said, “We can put millions of Americans to work. A lot of this will be good union jobs because the people with the skills to do the jobs will be able to do them.” She spoke about a number of other platform points before asking for voters’ support in Tuesday’s primary. Clinton then traveled to Fort Mitchell where she spoke to a crowd of supporters at the historic home of Nathan Smith. During the event, she told that crowd that she would focus on growing the economy and put her husband, for president Bill Clinton, in charge of economic growth. The country saw strong growth during his administration in the 1990s, and she believes that many of the same strategies used then will work now. She also attacked presumptive Republican nominee for Donald Trump for being a “loose cannon” and someone who would not be helpful for the middle and working classes. She said that she is willing to work with anyone with ideas to revitalize the economy and continue the progress of the current administration saying, “I will seek common ground, but I will also stand my ground.”

On Monday evening, Hillary Clinton took part in a town hall event hosted by MSNBC. Moderated by Rachel Maddow, the town hall event featured an interview with Clinton before questions were fielded from the audience. Clinton spoke about a number of topics including gun control, the minimum wage, the economy, and her primary battle with Bernie Sanders. She has begun to focus on the general election and unifying the Democratic party saying, “My difference is not with Sen. Sanders, but Republicans who don’t want to raise [wages and] refuse to acknowledge the terrible struggles people are facing.” A video from the town hall is below.

Hillary Clinton Strong in CNN Town Hall

On Monday night, Hillary Clinton participated in CNN’s Iowa Town Hall event. The town hall was hosted by Chris Cuomo and each of the Democratic candidates, Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley, were on stage separately. After some questions from Cuomo, the floor was open to questions from the audience. In her answers, Clinton set a clear contrast between herself and Sanders citing experience and a progressive background that will allow her to get things done. While Sanders has big ideas, it isn’t likely that he will be successful getting them passed in Congress.

While Sanders attacked Clinton for her relationship with Wall Street and vote in favor of the Iraq war, Clinton argued that she is only candidate that offers the skills and experience required for handling issues both domestically and abroad. She said, “It’s hard. If it were easy, hey, there wouldn’t be any contest. But it’s not easy. There are very different visions, different values, different forces at work, and you have to have somebody who is a proven fighter — somebody who has taken them on and won, and kept going, and will do that as President.” A video from the event is below.
