On Sunday, Chelsea Clinton campaigned on behalf of her mother at five events in Pennsylvania. The events were in the vicinity of Philadelphia and included stops in Chester, Morton, West Chester, Norristown, and Elkins Park. At each event, Chelsea spoke with supporters and volunteers, and she outlined several points of Hillary Clinton’s platform. Chelsea’s primary concern was ensuring that everyone votes on Tuesday and that the volunteers knock on as many doors and make as many phone calls as possible between now and then. “I know that if we keep rooting this election in what really is at stake – for or families – or communities our country we will win,” she said. Senator Bernie Sanders held a Get Out the Vote Rally today in Flagstaff, Arizona. The event is the first in a series of rallies that will be held in the state by Hillary for America. During the event on the campus of Northern Arizona University, Sanders spoke about the importance of electing Hillary Clinton in a few weeks. He also spoke about a number of her platform points, including her plan to ensure that college students are able to graduate debt free. Sanders then urged the students to get out and vote on November 8th. A video from the rally is below.
Meanwhile, three fundraisers where held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in Boston, Massachusetts and featured a conversation with Padma Lakshmi. The next event was in Brooklyn, New York and featured a number of local Democratic Party officials including Marlon Marshall, Director of State Campaigns and Political Engagement, Basil Smikle, Executive Director of the New York State Democratic Party, and Julissa Ferreras, New York City Council Member. The final event was in West Hollywood, California and included President Obama’s former speechwriter Jon Favreau. The event also included a special performance by Moby.
On Wednesday, Chelsea Clinton campaigned on behalf of her mother, Hillary Clinton, in Iowa. She spoke at events in Dubuque and Sioux City, and focused on the importance of voting at both. She encouraged everyone who is unable to vote on November 8 to take advantage of early voting in Iowa, which is currently under way. Chelsea also spoke about a number of her mother’s platform points including reforming the Department of Veterans Affairs, continuing to improve the health care system, and Hillary’s plans to help rural Americans. Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned for Hillary today in Iowa and Wisconsin. His first event was in Des Moines where he spoke to supporters at Drake University. During the event, Sanders spoke about Hillary’s economic plan and her proposals to ensure a college education is affordable, help students who are in debt refinance at lower interest rates, create new jobs across the country by investing in the country’s infrastructure and expanding clean energy. Sanders also stressed the importance of the election urging everyone to get out and vote. A video of Sanders’ speech is below.
Sanders then traveled to Madison, Wisconsin for an event supporting both Hillary and U.S. Senate candidate Russ Feingold. Sanders said that he supports Hillary because she supports a progressive platform and will fight for it as president. He then outlined a number of the issues she will work on as president including raising the minimum wage, creating a public option for health care, reforming the criminal justice system, and implementing campaign finance reform. He stressed that Hillary is better then the alternative, Republican Donald Trump, saying, “We will not allow bigotry to resurface in the United States of America. Sanders’ final event of the day was in Green Bay where he continued to focus on Clinton’s dedication to progress. He spoke about similar points as he had in Des Moines and Madison earlier in the day, but the Senator was greeted warmly. Sanders, an Independent from Vermont, has been on the campaign trail for Hillary since the Democratic National Convention in July. As Hillary’s former rival for the Democratic nomination, he has repeatedly said that he is dedicated to electing Hillary president in November. Meanwhile, a series of fundraisers were held across the country in support of Hillary for America. The first was in Washington, DC and featured Hillary Clinton, Eva Longoria, Julianna Margulies, and special performance by Estelle. The next event was in San Francisco, California and featured a conversation with Senator Elizabeth Warren. Then, in St. Augustine, Florida, an event was held at the home of Dawn and Patrick Canan. The event featured a conversation with Congresswoman Gwen Graham. The final event was a fundraiser for American citizens in London featuring Melanne Verveer, former Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, U.S. Department of State.
On Monday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Michigan. His first event was in Saginaw where he spoke about Hillary’s plans in detail saying, “We need a change to broadly shared prosperity. You have to have plans to do that.” Bill contrasted the plans of Hillary with those of Donald Trump saying that what we need a country are answers and not anger, empowerment over resentment, and bridges instead of walls. He argued that Hillary was the best and only candidate offering all three. A video from the event is below.
Bill then traveled to Flint where he spoke about inequality and unity. He said that Hillary is about more than just jobs and that her “Stronger Together” is more than a motto, it is a framework for the country. Bill detailed a number of Hillary’s platform points including her plans to create jobs, invest in the country’s infrastructure and clean energy, improve health care by expanding Medicare and Medicaid, and making college more affordable. He made it clear that Hillary is “the only person who’s got a clear, affordable, achievable economic strategy.” A video from his speech in Flint is below.
Meanwhile, in Brussels, Belgium, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America for American citizens living in the area. The event featured a conversation with Stephen Rapp, Former United States Ambassador-at-Large for Global Criminal Justice.
This morning, Hillary Clinton attended a ceremony honoring the survivors and victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City. Clinton attended the event for about an hour an half before she left. She was seen stumbling as she got into a van provided by her security detail. Clinton’s campaign told members of the press that she left because she was feeling “overheated” and was taken to Chelsea Clinton’s apartment. She was seen leaving the apartment and returned to her back to her home where she was evaluated by her physician, Dr. Lisa R. Bardack. Dr. Bardack then released the following statement:
“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related on allergies. On Friday, during a follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotic, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”
Obviously the headline is that Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday, but the campaign only announced the diagnosis after this morning’s episode. Clinton and her campaign have been criticized for their lack of transparency, and Clinton’s health has been questioned. While the events of the day do nothing to help either case, we wish Clinton a speedy recovery. She is scheduled to campaign on the west coast this week.
Hillary Clinton met with several top law enforcement officials form across the country on Thursday. During a meeting in New York City, Clinton briefly addressed the media and the group and spoke about the importance of working with law enforcement groups to ensure they are getting the required training and resources for them to keep the public safe. She said, “I think we can come together with a sense of shared purpose, and a belief in our common destiny to have a purpose where we go forth united and do everything possible to respond to any legitimate questions, to find answers together and to keep our communities safe, to protect lives and property, while also respecting every single American.”
The of officials that attended the meeting represent a wide variety of populations and included decades of experience. Those attending the discussion included: New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus, New York City Chief of Department James O’Neil, Seattle Police Chief Kathleen O’Toole, former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson, and Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez. Meanwhile, in Bozeman, Montana, actress Jennifer Garner attended a fundraiser on behalf of Hillary for America. The event was hosted by Carol Williams.
On Tuesday, Tim Kaine campaigned in Daytona Beach, Florida visiting Daytona State College. While at the school, he visited with employees before speaking to a crowd of supporters. During his speech, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to create jobs, pass comprehensive immigration reform, and her plans to combat Zika virus. Kaine also took several shots at Donald Trump. He said that the 2016 election is about choice, “America gets to choose whether it gets a ‘You’re hired’ president or a ‘You’re fired’ president.” A video of Kaine’s speech is below.
Meanwhile, Hillary for America Senior Advisor for Digital Engagement Katie Dowd attended a fundraiser in Brooklyn, New York. The event was held at HFA headquarters and was hosted by Eron Bloomgarden, Margot Brandenburg, Ahadi and Anthony Bugg-Levine, Andrew Kassoy, Otho Kerr III, David Pollak, Jason Scott, Silda Wall Spitzer, Brian Trelstad, and Adam Wolfensohn.
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton was in Las Vegas where she addressed members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union. Clinton spoke about her platform and support for unions and American workers. She also commented on the Republican Convention taking place this week in Cleveland saying it was nothing more than a show. “Lots of sound and fury. Even a fog machine. But when you pulled back the curtain, there was just Donald Trump, with nothing to offer the American people,” she said. A video of Clinton’s speech is below.
Following her speech, Clinton spoke at a voter registration event in Las Vegas. During her brief remarks, she stressed the importance of voting in the November election and sending a clear message to Donald Trump that his divisive rhetoric is not what America stands for. She thanked volunteers for helping with the registration process and urged the to continue working to get as many eligible Americans registered to vote as possible. A video of her remarks is below.

On Sunday, Hillary Clinton spoke at the United States Conference of Mayors where she spoke about a number of her platform points. She focused on attacking Republican Donald Trump’s positions on a number of topics, although she never mentioned him by name. Clinton also spoke about gun control saying that it is imperative to act and reduce gun violence. She cited surveys which indicate that the vast majority of Americans and gun owners alike support mandatory background checks for the purchase of a firearm. Earlier in the day, Clinton marched in the New York City Pride Parade where she joined Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Rev. Al Sharpton. The Pride Parade celebrates the LGBT community and the monumental Supreme Court ruling that ensures states cannot block same-sex marriage. The court’s ruling was announced a year ago today.
Following her speech, Clinton went to Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended a campaign fundraiser. The event was hosted by Mayor John Cranley, Dena Cranley, Allan Berliant, and Jennie Rosenthal Berliant. Yesterday, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America for American citizens living abroad. The event was held in Paris, France and was billed as a Men’s Fashion Week Party. Speaking at the event were actor Kyle MacLachlan and Project Runway producer Desiree Gruber.
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton attended a rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her speech, Clinton ripped into Republican Donald Trump for his speech yesterday in response to the deadly attack in Orlando, Florida. She criticized his divisive language and renewed proposal of banning all Muslims from entering the United States. She also spoke about the importance of regulating the sales of guns saying, “We need to lift up voices of moderation and tolerance. I believe we Americans are capable of both protecting our Second Amendment rights while making sure guns don’t fall into the wrong hands. The terrorist in Orlando was the definition of the wrong hands. And weapons of war have no place in our streets.” Clinton called for the country to come together and politicians to work together, across party lines, to ensure that an attack of this nature is not possible in the future. In Portland, Maine, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. Former Congressman Barney Frank and Mary Bonauto spoke at the event that was hosted at Coffey by Design.
Hillary Clinton Speeches
