Hillary Clinton Attends Signing of New York College Tuition Law

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton joined New York Governor Andrew Cuomo at LaGuardia Community College in Queens where she promoted the state’s new plan to provide free college tuition to in-state students whose family makes less than $100,000 a year. The income threshold to be eligible for free tuition will increase to $125,000 in 2019. The law requires that students who take part in the program to remain residents of New York for a number of years equal to the number of years they took part in the program.

Clinton applauded the plan in brief remarks today, as well as on Twitter. Clinton said, “I am here to today to reinforce what the governor has accomplished. He is absolutely right: education and training are the future.” She also said that the plan is a good framework for other states and the federal government. Clinton added, “Paying for college should not defer or destroy dreams. I’m hoping too that Congress will come to its senses and will understand we don’t need to be building walls, we need to be building bridges. And the best bridge to the future is a good education.”

Tim Kaine Rallies Voters in Wisconsin

Tim Kaine spoke at three get out the vote events today in Wisconsin. At his first event in Milwaukee, he told the audience that he and Hillary Clinton are excited with only a few days left in the campaign, and they are both determined to win. He called it “an excitement to embrace an agenda that`s a stronger together agenda, and reject an agenda that is a divisive, name calling, blame game, take us backward agenda — and so we`re seeing it pick up in such a great way.” Kaine said that it is important that everyone get out and vote so their voice is heard given the stakes in this election. He concluded by asking everyone not to take a lead in the polls to mean anything, and that everyone’s vote is important. News coverage of Kaine’s Milwaukee visit is below.

Kaine then traveled to Green Bay where he spoke about Clinton’s optimistic platform, and he outlined her plans to create jobs, make college more affordable, raise the minimum wage, and focus on the middle class by building an economy that works for everyone. Kaine stressed the importance of defeating Donald Trump and electing a candidate with the experience and a comprehensive platform like Clinton. Kaine’s final event was a get out the vote event in La Crosse. Kaine spoke to a crowd of supporters after they watch today’s Green Bay Packers football game. Kaine outlined key points in Clinton’s platform including her plans to create jobs and invest in American manufacturing. President Obama Campaigns for Hillary in Kissimmee

President Barack Obama returned to Florida on Sunday where he campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Kissimmee. At a rally held in Osceola County Stadium, Obama spoke about the importance of the election and ensuring that Clinton is elected president on Tuesday. He spoke about Clinton’s optimistic platform including her plans to create jobs, make college more affordable, and build an economy that works for everyone. Obama said that Clinton is the only candidate that will ensure the progress the country has made will continue, and he criticized Donald Trump’s dangerous rhetoric. Senator Sanders Campaigns for Hillary in Iowa, Colorado

Senator Bernie Sanders remained in Iowa this morning for a Get out the Vote rally in Ames. During his speech, Sanders spoke about the importance of electing Hillary Clinton saying, “Hillary Clinton has a very different perspective [and] she understands what Donald Trump does not understand.” He outlined a number of Clinton’s platform points including her plans to combat climate change, reform campaign finance, create jobs, raise the minimum wage, and make college more affordable. Sanders concluded by asking everyone to vote saying that the election is too important to sit out. “You don’t like Hillary Clinton? You Don’t like Donald Trump? Fine. You like yourself? Get beyond personality; that means taking a hard look at what the candidates stand for,” Sanders said. A video from the event is below.

Sanders then spoke at a Get out the Vote event in Colorado Springs. Sanders spoke about a number of the progressive points from Clinton’s platform including her proposals to raise the minimum wage, combat climate change, fix the Affordable Care Act, and make college at public institutions tuition free for students making less than $125,000 per year. He urged everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday and to encourage others to vote as well. “If you take two or three of your friends to the polls, you double or triple your impact,” he said. Tim Kaine Encourages Voters in Florida

Tim Kaine returned to Florida on Friday where he spoke on the campus of the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne. Kaine stressed the importance of the election and encouraged everyone to get out and vote next Tuesday. He said that the race is close and that “we can’t take anything for granted.” During his speech, Kaine outlined a number of Hillary Clinton’s key platform points including her plan to make college more affordable, raise the minimum wage, and pass comprehensive immigration reform. He also attacked Donald Trump for his divisive campaign saying that America is truly stronger together. A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Meanwhile, Kaine’s wife, Anne Holton, spoke to a group of supporters in Salt Lake City, Utah. Holton spoke about Clinton’s plans to raise the minimum wage, ensure that woman receive equal pay, and expand early childhood education. She said that none of that will be possible unless everyone gets out to vote on Tuesday. Senator Sanders Campaigns for Hillary in the Heartland

Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Iowa and Nebraska on Friday. His first events were in Davenport and Iowa City. During his speech at each event, Sanders stressed the importance of electing Democrats to ensure their progressive agenda become law. He spoke about Clinton’s plans to combat climate change, invest in clean energy, address campaign finance reform, reign in income inequality, and make college more affordable for students. Clinton’s college plan was developed with Sanders and he spoke about it in detail. He urged everyone to vote for Clinton and progressive platform saying, “The importance of this [platform] document is we are not going to let it sit on a shelf. We are going to incorporate those ideas into legislation to transform America. Iowa, thank you for making that possible.” Videos from the event in Iowa City are below.

In Cedar Rapids, Sanders spoke to a crowd of supporters on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa. He spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points and the importance of electing progressives. He urged everyone to vote next Tuesday and encouraged the students to remain active in politics after the election saying, “But then the day after the election, after Hillary wins, I want you to pledge yourself to work as hard as you can with your friends and your co-workers to make this country what you and I know that we can become. Stand up for economic justice, social justice, racial justice, environmental justice. Let’s go forward and transform America.”

Sanders’ final event of the day was a rally in Omaha, Nebraska. Sanders maintained his progressive message talking about Clinton’s progressive platform and plans to raise the minimum wage and ensure that the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes. Sanders said that electing Donald Trump would be a disaster, but he also said that the election is going to be close. “My own gut feel is it’s going to be a very, very close election,” he said. Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Colorado

Bill Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton today in Colorado. At his first event, Bill spoke to a group of supporters at Union Depot in Pueblo. He outlined key points of Hillary’s platform including her plans to create jobs and build and economy that works for everyone. Throughout his speech, Bill referred to Donald Trump, but never mentioned him by name. He criticized his temperament and lack of experience. He concluded the event by asking everyone to vote for Clinton on Tuesday saying, “If the people vote, she’ll win. I believe she’ll be the first woman president but even those things are not as important as what it will mean for you.”

He then spoke at the EXDO Event Center in Denver where he covered a number of the same topics as in Pueblo including her plans to make college more affordable and pass comprehensive immigration reform. The focus of Bill’s speech was about the type of America we want to build for future generations. Do we want a president who looks to the past or one who plans for the future. “This is a change election — I do agree with her opponent on that. The question is: Are you going to change forward, to build on what we are doing right?  … Or are you going to change backward and go back to trickle down economics on steroids?,” he said. He concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday.

At his final stop of the day in Fort Collins, Bill focused on unity and how Hillary’s plans ensure that Americans are united in enjoying the prosperity offered in the United States. Unlike her opponent who is focused on dividing people to gain votes, Bill argued that Hillary aims to create a stronger and more united country. He urged everyone to vote for Hillary on Tuesday saying, “We’re the longest-lasting democracy in human history and that’s for a reason: We keep making progress toward our more perfect union.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

Hillary Clinton returned to North Carolina on Thursday where she spoke at two events. Her first event was on the campus of Pitt Community College in Winterville. Clinton spoke for over half an hour about a number of her platform points including criminal justice reform, creating new jobs, making college more affordable, and creating an economy that works for everyone and does not favor those at the top. She also went after Donald Trump for his divisive rhetoric and his comments about various groups including women, Muslims, immigrants, and African Americans. Clinton said that Trump’s comments are encouraging others adding, “He’s giving a dog whistle to his supporters. [He’s] endorsed by the official paper of the KKK.” Clinton concluded her speech by asking everyone for their vote and encouraged them to take advantage of early voting or turn out next Tuesday. Clinton then traveled to Raleigh where she was joined by Senator Bernie Sanders and singer Pharrell Williams. Williams and Sanders spoke first talking about the stakes of the election and encouraging everyone to vote. When Clinton took the stage, she spoke about a number of her platform points including her plans to create more jobs by investing in infrastructure and American manufacturing, continuing to update the health care system to ensure universal coverage, and making college more affordable for families and students. Tim Kaine and Anne Holton Campaign for Hillary

On Thursday, Tim Kaine campaigned in Arizona as he spoke at two events. His first stop was in Phoenix where he spoke to members of the Hispanic community. Giving his speech entirely in Spanish, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plan for comprehensive immigration reform and her dedication to families. He also spoke about the dangers of Donald Trump and blasted his anti-immigrant rhetoric saying that diversity is what makes America the great country it is. He said, “With so much at stake for the Hispanic community, it’s important that our campaign use the language that so many families around the country use.” A video of Kaine’s speech (dubbed in English) is below.

Kaine’s final event of the day was a Get Out the Vote rally in Tucson. During his speech, Kaine spoke about the importance of Arizona to Clinton. He said that recent polls indicate that she and Kaine could defeat Trump in the state. He focused on key points of Clinton’s platform including immigration reform and creating jobs. He said that she will fight for everyone adding, “She would not give up, back down, go away, or sell her principles short.” He concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote for Clinton on election day. “This election is less about where we going but who we are as a nation. Are we going to say it’s it OK to divide up against each other and insult each other? No, I embrace we are stronger together,” Kaine said. A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Anne Holton was on the campaign trail on Thursday and spoke at events in Toledo, Ohio and Reno, Nevada. At each event, Holton spoke about Clinton’s platform points and her dedication to expanding early childhood education and making college more affordable.
