Kaine Encourages Voters in Florida

Tim Kaine returned to Florida on Saturday where he spoke about the importance of the election and Florida’s role on Tuesday. He urged everyone to vote because he wants Hillary Clinton to win Florida. Speaking on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers, Kaine outlined a number of Clinton’s key platform plans including raising the minimum wage, creating new jobs by investing in infrastructure and American manufacturing, and making college more affordable. Kaine concluded by asking everyone to vote adding, “This is my ninth race. I’m 8 and 0, and I’m not planning on losing Tuesday. Here’s what I tell myself in every race I every run: I’m the underdog until they call me the winner.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Kaine then spoke at a get out the vote event in Sarasota where he focused on the importance of early voting and defeating Donald Trump. He spoke about the dangers of the vision painted by Trump and offered Clinton’s platform as an optimistic alternative. Kaine said that Clinton has worked her entire life for families and children, and she will not stop once elected. He concluded the event by urging everyone to vote on Tuesday or to take advantage of early voting. “I’m going to just get to the punchline: If you win it in Florida, it’s won,” he said. Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Florida

Bill Clinton was in Florida today where he spoke at three voter registration events. He began in Belle Glade where he spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to invest in infrastructure, reduce the cost of higher education, and continue the economic growth of the last several years. He said, “She’s the best change-maker I’ve ever known. I’ve known her a long time.” Bill then spoke about the importance of voting in the upcoming election and ensuring that they are registered to vote. In Florida, tomorrow is the deadline for voters to register and be eligible to vote on November 8th. A video of Bill’s speech is below.

He then traveled to Fort Myers where he spoke about many of the same topics he covered in Belle Glade. He said that his primary mission was to ensure that voters are registered by tomorrow’s deadline, and to make sure everyone votes for his wife. “We have until tomorrow at five to register to vote. I want to ask each of you drag one extra person to get registered,” he said. Bill spoke about the importance of this election and how Hillary is more qualified to hold the office of president than her opponent, Donald Trump. Watch his speech below.

Bill’s final event of the day was in Safety Harbor. Speaking at a local community center, Bill spoke about Hillary’s plans to invest in clean energy, combat climate change, create new jobs, make college more affordable for past, current, and future students, and rebuild the country’s infrastructure. He warned that electing Trump will be a mistake saying, “What we know from the past is that people who get elected president … actually try to do what they say they’re going to do. So we ought to pay attention to what they say.” Bill argued that Hillary’s proposals are for the betterment of everyone while Trump’s are in service of himself. Kaine, Holton Campaign for Hillary on Monday

Tim Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, were on the campaign trail on behalf of Hillary Clinton today. Kaine spoke in Dayton, Ohio about Hillary’s plans for making college education more affordable by making public colleges debt-free for students with a family income of less than $125,000. The plan would also help those with existing student loans reduce their interest rates. While the education plan was intended to be the primary topic of discussion, Kaine spent some time addressing Clinton’s diagnosis with pneumonia. Speaking with reporters, he said that she was getting better, adding, “I lived through something very similar in my first race (for elected office) and I kind of know what the thinking was, which was ‘OK, we’ve got a diagnosis, it’s serious, but something a lot of people manage.” A video from the event is below.

Holton held two events on behalf of Hillary today in Fort Myers, Florida where she held a roundtable discussion with area teachers. She assured them that education is one of Hillary’s top priorities. Holton expressed her disappointment about the low teacher salaries in Florida and the number of standardized tests students are subjected to. Holton is the former Secretary of Education for the state of Virginia.

Meanwhile, in New York City, James Carville attended a fundraiser on behalf of Hillary for America.
