Hillary Clinton Encourages Caucus Goers in Iowa

On Monday, Hillary Clinton hosted three Get Out the Caucus events and encouraged voters to caucus for her on February 1st. The first event of the day was in Waukee, where Clinton spoke to the Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines about a number of platform topics, including the Iran nuclear deal and her support for Israel, before taking questions from those in attendance. A second Get Out the Caucus event was held in Knoxville. Clinton spoke about her clean energy plans and how it will benefit Iowa. She then spoke about her faith and her attitude toward charity and mercy. Clinton disagreed with those who use religion to criticize those they disagree with, saying that it goes against everything Christianity stands for. Because the bible teaches forgiveness and acceptance, she said, “My study of the Bible, my many conversations with people of faith, has led me to believe that the most important commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, and to love your neighbor as yourself.” A of her speech is below.

Clinton Rallies Iowa Crowds

Hillary Clinton was in Iowa for the second day in a row. As she travels the state encouraging support in the February 1 caucus, Clinton began her day at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids where she was introduced by Senator Cory Booker. Booker gave a passionate speech before introducing Clinton to the congregation where she spoke about the difficult decision of becoming Secretary of State and her pledge to continue fighting for civil rights. She spoke about building upon the progress of President Barack Obama’s administration. A video from this morning is below.

The second event of the day was in Marion where she was once again introduced by Senator Booker. During her speech, she focused on her plans for health care and other aspects of her platform, but more importantly, she asked those in attendance to think about which of the candidates is best prepared to be president. She said, “Who has the experience? Who has the judgment? Who can actually deliver for the United States when it comes to making these hard choices?”

Clinton then went to North Liberty for a Get out the Caucus event. She was introduced by Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards before giving a speech during which she spoke about the importance of Planned Parenthood and preserving a women’s right to choose. She also spoke about a number of other key platform points including building upon the economy, improving the infrastructure, and expanding the middle class. She, again, focused on experience and resolve to get things done if elected to the White House. A video from the North Liberty event is below.

Clinton’s final event of the day took place in West Des Moines. During the event at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School, Clinton accepted the endorsement of the Human Rights Campaign. She vowed to protect and expand the rights of the LGBT community saying, “We all benefit when every one of our fellow human beings can live lives of purpose and meaning without being demeaned, without being discriminated against. This is fight is for all Americans.” She then went on to speak about several of her key platform topics, and addressed criticism raised by rival Bernie Sanders about her Wall Street speaking fees. She said, “I have a record and a commitment. I believe strongly that we need to make sure Wall Street never wrecks Main Street again.” A video from the event is below.

Bill Clinton Rallies Crowd in Reno

On Friday night, Bill Clinton held an organizing event in support of Hillary Clinton in Reno, Nevada. During his speech, Clinton discussed his wife’s accomplishments as First Lady, Senator, and Secretary of State. Then, he stressed the importance of the 2016 election referencing heath care and the possibility that the next president could appoint three Supreme Court Justices. He also discusses her plans to make college affordable, expand clean energy, and address a growing drug problem. He urged voters to support Hillary in the Nevada caucus on February 20. Clinton Hosts Town Hall in Toledo, Iowa

On Monday evening, Hillary Clinton held a town hall event in Toledo, Iowa where she laid out her platform should she win the presidency and how she plans to work with Republicans in Congress. She then took question from the crowd about a variety of topics including her plans to build upon the Affordable Care Act and her view of Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump. Clinton then asked everyone to support her in the February 1st Iowa caucus saying, “You will be caucusing for the person you think can do all aspects of the job. This is no opportunity for the new president to say ‘come back to me later with that crisis.'” A video from yesterday’s event will be posted when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton also attended a fundraiser in New York City on Monday evening. During the fundraiser, musical group Well-Strung performed their song “Chelsea’s Mom“, which is a parody of Fountains of Wayne’s “Stacy’s Mom” in support of Clinton.

Clinton Speaks at the West Caucus Dinner

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton appeared at the West Caucus Dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada with the other Democratic presidential candidates, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders. Each of the candidates gave a speech, and Clinton focused on the upcoming primary and and argued that she is the only one of the three Democratic candidates that can beat the Republicans in November. She said, “I am proud to be running in a Democratic primary with my opponents. They have a lot of good ideas and we share a lot of the same values. But your choice in the caucus really matters. On February 20th you will begin the process of choosing a president who has what it takes to stand up to the Republicans, to make a real difference for American families.” A full video from the event is below and is bookmarked at Clinton’s speech.

Hillary Clinton Wraps Two Day Iowa Campaign Sprint

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton wrapped up her most recent swing through Iowa with three events. She began the day in Osage where she held a town hall event similar to yesterday’s in that she urged voters to support her in Iowa’s upcoming caucus. She then took questions from the crowd. The second event was held in Sioux City where she unveiled her plan to support families struggling with Autism. More details from this event can be read HERE.

Clinton’s final stop today was in Council Bluffs where she held another town hall event. She voiced her support of today’s announcement by President Barack Obama to curb gun violence and introduce additional measures to ensure gun safety. And, since this was her last stop for this trip, she presented her final argument to voters saying, “Let me ask you to think about this job that you’re interviewing for. Think hard about the people who are presenting themselves to you, their experience, their qualifications, their positions. And particularly for those of us who are Democrats, their electability, and how we make sure we have a Democrat going back into that White House on Jan. 20, 2017.” Videos from today’s events in Osage and Council Bluffs will be added when/if available.

Hillary Clinton Hosts Three Iowa Events

On Monday, Hillary Clinton returned to Iowa where she hosted three events. The first was in Davenport where she set the tone for the day with a plea for voters to turn out and support her in Iowa’s caucus on February 1. She vowed to protect, and improve the Affordable Care Act and rework the economy so that it helps everyone and not just those at the top. She also spoke about other points from her platform including voting rights, gay rights, and women’s rights. A video from her event in Davenport is below.

Clinton then traveled to Cedar Rapids where hosted a town hall event. She gave a brief speech before taking questions from the crowd. One of the questions was in regard to Republican rival Donald Trump and his recent comments about her and President Barack Obama being responsible for the creation of ISIS. She responded by saying, “I’ve adopted a new year’s resolution. I’m going to let him live in his alternative reality and I’m not going to respond.”

Clinton wrapped up the first day of her trip to Iowa in Des Moines. The event was billed as a “Get Out the Caucus” rally. Her speech was similar to one she gave earlier in the day in Davenport where she stressed the importance of voters to turn out and vote for her at the February 1 caucus. Clinton Returns to Campaign Trail in New Hampshire

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail following some time off for the Christmas holiday. She hosted a town hall event at the Unitarian South Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with over 900 in attendance. Clinton spoke about a number of topics from her platform, but she focused on the economy and her proposal to effectively treat and prevent Alzheimer’s disease. She then answered a number of questions from those in attendance, including a question from a young boy who wondered why his mom doesn’t make as much money has his dad. Later in the day, Clinton headed across the snowy state to Berlin where she held a second town hall at Berlin High School. She covered similar topics during the event and answered a number of questions from the crowd. She was asked about ISIS and their persecution religious minorities in the region, including Christians. Clinton stated that she believed that ISIS’s attacks on the Yazidi minority and other minority groups should be defined as genocide. She said, “America must wage and win an immediate battle against ISIS, al Qaeda, and other terrorist networks, as well as a generational struggle against radical jihadism.”

New Hampshire is important to Clinton because she currently trails Democratic rival Bernie Sanders in the New Hampshire primary polls. As part of a final campaign push leading up to the first primaries, Clinton hosted the town halls today and Bill Clinton will make several stops in the state next week. The New Hampshire primary will be held on February 9, 2016.

Clinton Registers for South Carolina Primary

On Saturday, Hillary Rodham Clinton registered for the South Carolina Democratic Primary which is scheduled for February 27, 2016. While in South Carolina, Clinton also attended a fundraiser and the Charleston County Democratic Party’s Blue Jamboree. Full coverage from the day will be posted later this evening.

First Democratic Debate Tomorrow on CNN

CNN has released full details of tomorrow night’s Democratic debate from Las Vegas, Nevada which will feature Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee. Vice President Joe Biden, who has not formally announced his candidacy, was invited to participate, but will not. The debate will be moderated by Anderson Cooper with Dana Bash and Juan Carlos Lopez also asking questions. Coverage begins at 8:30 PM ET on CNN and on CNN.com (we will post a link to the live stream before the debate begins). You can submit questions for the moderators to ask the candidates on Facebook and Instagram.

This is the first of six debates between the Democratic candidates. The other five debates are scheduled for:
