Hillary Clinton Continues to Focus on Jobs During Florida Campaign Events

Hillary Clinton continued to speak in Florida today about her plans to help small businesses, bolster manufacturing, and create new jobs. She began in St. Petersburg where she toured the local 3 Daughters Brewery. She briefly spoke to employees and the press before heading to The Coliseum in downtown St. Petersburg. There she spoke to a crowd of 2,000 about her plans to ensure the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes, repair the country’s infrastructure, invest in clean energy, and create new jobs by investing in American made products. Clinton criticized Donald Trump’s economic speech, delivered earlier in the day. She said, “It’s really outrageous to me that somebody who claims to be so successful  has done it by stiffing hard working Americans.” During the event, Clinton advised the crowd, “Don’t let a friend vote Trump.” A combined video from both events is below.

Clinton then spoke at a rally in Kissimmee where she continued to go after Trump’s economic speech. She criticized his plan saying that he “hasn’t offered any plans on infrastructure besides building a wall and having Mexico pay for it.” Clinton continued to focus on her broad plan to upgrade the country’s infrastructure, focus on small businesses, and bolster American made manufacturing. A plan that many economists have said will create millions of jobs nationwide. She made it clear that her plan is intended to help everyone whereas; Trump is focused on helping the one percent. In New York City, a fundraising event was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and actor Audra McDonald.

Hillary Clinton Focuses on Manufacturing in Colorado Visit

Hillary Clinton continued to talk about her plans to boost job creation and manufacturing during a stop in Colorado on Wednesday. Her first stop in the state was a local company in Denver called Knotty Tie Company. She toured the facility and spoke with several employees. She also addressed a gathering of the company’s employees and members of the press. During her remarks, she criticized Donald Trump for his double standard when it comes to American manufacturing. She pointed out that while he touts his “Made in America” plan while products bearing his name are made in China. Holding one of Trump’s ties in her hand, she said, “I really would like him to explain why he paid Chinese workers to make Trump ties.” A video of her brief remarks is below.

Clinton then went to Commerce City where she spoke to a crowd where she spoke about a number of key platform points. She spent the majority of her speech talking about manufacturing, jobs, and investing in education. Referring to her jobs and infrastructure plans, she said that she is calling for the largest mobilization of workers and government spending on infrastructure since World War II. Clinton said that while a big part of her infrastructure plan focuses on the country’s aging roads and bridges, a significant portion the plan would ensure access to broadband internet, especially in rural areas. Clinton, Kaine Continue Bus Tour with Pennsylvania and Ohio Stops

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, along with their spouses, began the day in Johnstown where they continued to talk about plans to create jobs, focus on manufacturing, and build up the middle class. After touring Johnstown Wire Technologies, Clinton and Kaine spoke about the American spirit and work ethic and how a president needs to tap into that. Clinton said, “We are visiting places that prove what Americans can do. We are the most productive, competitive workers in the world. We just need to give our people the chance to succeed.” A video of Kaine and Clinton’s speeches are below.

The group then traveled to Pittsburgh where Kaine and Clinton spoke to a large crowd of supporters at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Clinton and Kaine were introduced and endorsed by investor Mark Cuban. When Kaine took the stage, he spoke about his mid-western roots and the importance of manufacturing in many cities across the country. He then introduced Clinton, and she focused her remarks on her plans to create jobs and rebuild the nation’s infrastructure. She attacked Donald Trump’s bleak and divisive view of America saying proudly that “the American Dream is not limited.” A video from the Pittsburgh event is below.

The final event of the night was a rally in Youngstown, Ohio. Kaine and Clinton continued with the theme of job creation and a focus on American manufacturing and infrastructure improvements. Speaking in the hard hit rust belt, Clinton pledged to put American manufacturing first and incentivize companies to make their products in America. She said, “We’re not going to let China dump cheap steel into the America economy.” A video from the event is below.

Hillary Clinton Speaks at AFSCME Convention

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton was in Las Vegas where she addressed members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union. Clinton spoke about her platform and support for unions and American workers. She also commented on the Republican Convention taking place this week in Cleveland saying it was nothing more than a show. “Lots of sound and fury. Even a fog machine. But when you pulled back the curtain, there was just Donald Trump, with nothing to offer the American people,” she said. A video of Clinton’s speech is below.

Following her speech, Clinton spoke at a voter registration event in Las Vegas. During her brief remarks, she stressed the importance of voting in the November election and sending a clear message to Donald Trump that his divisive rhetoric is not what America stands for. She thanked volunteers for helping with the registration process and urged the to continue working to get as many eligible Americans registered to vote as possible. A video of her remarks is below.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, California, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event included a conversation with Former Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis and featured the art work of Nora Ligorano and Mashall Reese.

Bill, Chelsea Campaign in Michigan

On Sunday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton spoke to potential voters in Michigan and asked them to support Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s primary. Chelsea attended events in three cities. She spoke at a an event in Detroit where she met with members of the Service Employees Union and members of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees. Chelsea then traveled to Flint where she and Mayor Karen Weaver spoke about plans to use money received to help improve the water quality in the city. Mayor Waver also announced a new jobs program in the city. Chelsea’s final event of the day was a Women’s Economic Forum in Southfield.

Bill meanwhile attended Sunday morning church services at the Greater Grace Temple. Speaking to the congregation, he spoke about Hillary’s experience and path forward for the country. Bill said that he was proud of his wife’s accomplishments and that he knows she will continue to fight for everyone. Previewing Sunday evening’s debate between Hillary and Bernie Sanders, Bill said that he thought she would do well. On Sunday afternoon, Bill made stops at a LGBT Organizing Event in Royal Oak and a surprise stop in Eastpointe. Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Detroit

While Louisiana, Kansas, and Nebraska held their Democratic primaries on Saturday, Bill Clinton was in Detroit looking ahead to Tuesday’s primary in Michigan. Campaigning for Hillary Clinton, Bill spoke at a canvass kickoff event. He focused on the jobs plan that Hillary unveiled during a speech in Detroit yesterday. Speaking at the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Council 25’s auditorium, Bill also spoke about Hillary’s plans for building upon heath care, supporting labor unions, strengthening manufacturing, and improving the nation’s infrastructure. On the subject of infrastructure, Bill referenced the water crisis in Flint, commending both Hillary and rival Bernie Sanders for calling national attention to the issue.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton is preparing for tomorrow night’s Democratic debate, which will air on CNN. She attended an evening pre-debate reception hosted the Michigan Democratic Party. Held at the MGM Grand Detroit, guests included Michigan’s Congressional Delegation, Democratic members of Michigan’s state Legislature, local government officials, and former Governor Jim Blanchard. Clinton Hosts First Town Hall of Campaign

Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted the first Town Hall conversation of her presidential campaign. The even took place in Dover, New Hampshire, where she outlined her key points of her platform in a brief speech, then took questions from the audience. Clinton answered questions on a number of topics including the recent nuclear agreement with Iran, banning use of fossil fuels and fracking, telemarketers, and her plan to offer tax incentives to businesses that share their profits with employees. The event lasted about an hour and a half and can be watched in full on C-SPAN.

Clinton’s campaign is still in the beginning stages with major speeches outlining her platform continuing to take place. She is expected to begin hosting larger town hall events like the one held today in the coming months.

Hillary Rodham Clinton took part in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Center for American Progress (CAP) and the America Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The event focused on issues in urban areas, and she discussed the benefits of creating partnerships between the public and private sectors to provide solutions for urban issues. Clinton focused largely on income inequality and wage stagnation and how the two are related. Clinton said, “We need to think hard about what we’re going to do now that people are moving back into and staying in cities to make sure that our cities are not just places of economic prosperity and job creation on average. But do it in a way that lifts everybody up to deal with the overriding issues of inequality and lack of mobility.”

The roundtable also included CAP President Neera Tanden, Housing Secretary Julian Castro, and AFSCME President Lee Saunders.
