On Saturday, Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Clinton took part in a panel discussion with Kathryn Bigelow and Imraan Ismail. The group discussed Bigelow’s film “The Protectors: Walk in the Rangers’ Shoes,” which focuses on the fight save elephants in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Clinton spoke about the world-wide effort to eliminate the demand for ivory, but she said more work needs to be done. “It became clear to everyone that this was not just a terrible crisis when it came to the elephant population, it was a trade, a trafficking that was funding a lot of bad folks, a lot of bad actors. It was being used to take ivory and sell it in order to buy more weapons, and support the kind of terroristic activity that these and other groups were engaged in,” she said. On Friday, campaign events were held across on the country on behalf of Hillary Clinton and featured speeches from Tim Kaine, Bill Clinton, and Senator Elizabeth Warren. Kaine began in Birmingham, Alabama where he attended a fundraiser, toured the 16th Street Baptist Church, and spoke to the press about Donald Trump’s divisive rhetoric and the allegations that the Trump Foundation illegally gave campaign donations to the Florida state Attorney General. Kaine then returned to his home state of Virginia where he and his wife, Anne Holton, attended a rally in Norfolk. During his speech, Kaine spoke about his time in Virginia where he has served a Governor and is currently one of the state’s Senators. Kaine spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points and went after Donald Trump for his praise of dictators saying, “If you can’t tell the difference between leadership and dictatorship, you wouldn’t have passed a fifth-grade civics exam. You shouldn’t be a president of the United States. … Tyranny is not leadership. Persecution is not leadership.” A video from the event is below.
In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill campaigned on behalf of his wife and spoke about a number of Hillary’s platform points and criticized a number of proposals made by Trump. Bill spoke about the importance of this election, but said that can sympathize with the anger that many voters and Trump supporters are feeling. He warned, “Don’t substitute anger for answers. Don’t substitute resentment for responsibility. Remember empowerment comes from being stronger together. We can do it. You can do it. But Hillary, to do it, has to win Pennsylvania and that’s you.” Bill continued, “We need answers, not anger. And she [Hillary] is the only candidate offering any.” A video of Bill’s speech is below.
The final event of the day was a speech by Senator Warren who campaigned on behalf of Hillary in Philadelphia. Warren spoke to a crowd of supporters about the importance of defeating Trump and electing Hillary in November. She covered a number of Hillary’s proposals before delivering a series of one-liners attacking Trump. In her speech, Warren referred to Trump as “the large orange elephant in the room,” called the controversial Trump University “Scam University,” and went after his praise of Russian president Vladimir Putin. Warren’s speech offers a mix of clever criticism of Trump and important policy proposals. A video from the event is below.
Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, a Hillary for America fundraiser was held for American citizens living abroad. The event featured a conversation with Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues for the State Department.
Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at the third day of scheduled discussions at the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting. The discussion, “Putting Education to Work,” was in two parts. The first part was a panel which included Cisco CEO John Chambers, United Arab Emirates Minister of State Reem Al Hashimy, Education for Employment Alumna Nisreen Mitwally, and Mara Foundation Founder Ashish Thakkar. The group discussed the future of education in the United States.
For the second part of the discussion, Clinton took the stage after the panel to deliver the closing remarks. She talked about the future of education and how businesses in America need to invest in eduction as they go hand-in-hand. On the job training and education are both important to businesses, and Clinton announced that many business had committed to help CGI with their efforts.

At the end of the speech, Clinton was joined on stage by Chelsea Clinton to announce CGI’s progress in its efforts to protect the African Elephant and stop poaching, stop illegal trafficking, and stop the demand for elephant ivory. Hillary and Chelsea were also joined by Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, President of the Gabonese Republic Ali Bongo Ondimba, and representatives from Vietnam, Zambia, Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, and the United States State Department. President Bongo spoke on behalf of the group. After the speech, the group was joined on stage by representatives of several wildlife foundations who have partnered with CGI to protect the elephant.

Hillary Rodham Clinton was honored at the The Wildlife Conservation Society Gala in New York. Appearing with her daughter Chelsea, they were honored for the Clinton Global Initiative’s work to protect animals, specifically elephants. Clinton highlighted the issue saying, “We’ve reached a crisis point and 96 elephants a day [killed] is just a horrifying number. At this rate African forest elephants will be extinct within ten years. So we don’t have any time left.” Clinton also praised the New York State Assembly which recently passed a bill banning the sale of ivory in New York.
