On Sunday, Chelsea Clinton campaigned on behalf of her mother at five events in Pennsylvania. The events were in the vicinity of Philadelphia and included stops in Chester, Morton, West Chester, Norristown, and Elkins Park. At each event, Chelsea spoke with supporters and volunteers, and she outlined several points of Hillary Clinton’s platform. Chelsea’s primary concern was ensuring that everyone votes on Tuesday and that the volunteers knock on as many doors and make as many phone calls as possible between now and then. “I know that if we keep rooting this election in what really is at stake – for or families – or communities our country we will win,” she said. On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his speech, Biden spoke about the importance of North Carolina saying that winning the state is important to Clinton. He made the case for Clinton by outlining her populist agenda including her plans to raise the minimum wage, create more jobs, and invest in American manufacturing. Biden contrasted a number of Clinton’s proposals with those made by Donald Trump saying that he does not represent America or the Republican Party. Biden urged voters to take advantage of early voting and to get out and support Clinton before the election adding, “Don’t wake up November the 9th and say, ‘If I’d just made two more calls … and done a few more things, we’d have won North Carolina.'” A video from the event will be added when/if available.
Musicians Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus hit the campaign trail in support of Hillary Clinton on Saturday. At George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, Cyrus went door-to-door in Piedmont Hall and met with students and urged them to vote for Clinton on November 8th or to take advantage of early voting. During the primary, Cyrus was a supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders and she has been working to get Sanders supporters to back Clinton for president.
Meanwhile, Perry was in Las Vegas, Nevada where she spent the afternoon on the campus of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. She began by knocking on dorm doors and asking students to vote for Clinton. Perry stuck around for an early voting event held on the campus. During the event, Perry spoke about the importance of voting and electing Clinton president, but also the importance of electing Democrats down ballot into office as well saying, “We got a crew. We got a clique. We all run together.” Perry then introduced Democratic US Senate candidate Catherine Cortez Masto who spoke to the crowd about the election and urged the them to vote on November 8th. On Monday, Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Colorado. At a Get out the Vote event on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, he spoke about a variety of issues including the rising cost of a higher education, income inequality, immigration, and health care. Sanders addressed how Clinton and the Democratic platform would address of each of the issues and urged them to get out and vote on November 8th. “Politics and political engagement does not end on Election Day. We need you on the day after the election,” he said urging the crowd, most of them student, to remain politically active following the election. A video of Sanders’ speech is below.
Anne Holton, wife of Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, was in Florida where she held two events in Pensacola. Her first stop was a Women for Hillary event during which she spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points including plans to increase the minimum wage, create new jobs, ensure equal pay for women, and provide paid family leave. She praised the campaign run by Clinton and Kaine saying, “It is important to have that person-to-person contact, it is even more important with the negativity we have had this campaign season. Holton also spoke with volunteers and supporters at a local canvass kick-off. She encouraged them to keep knocking on doors, putting up signs, and making phone calls. Meanwhile, three fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America as the final fundraising deadline approaches. The first was in Bethesda, Maryland where Tim Kaine attended a private fundraising event. Then, in Dallas, Texas, a LGBT and Allies event was held featuring a conversation with Vic Holmes, Mark Phariss, and Steve Rudner. In New York City, a Broadway for Hillary event was held. The event featured an appearance by Chelsea Clinton but a number of performances. The performers included: Sara Bareilles, Angela Bassett, Emily Blunt, Matthew Broderick, Ayodele Casel, Alan Cumming, Cynthia Erivo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jones, Andrea McArdle, Sienna Miller, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Helen Mirren, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bernadette Peters, and Julia Roberts. Today, Tim Kaine and his wife, Anne Holton, campaigned in Florida. They began the day by attending Sunday morning church services at Pneuma Church in Miami and The Faith Center in Sunrise. At Pneuma, a Hispanic church, Kaine spoke in fluent Spanish and encouraged everyone to register to vote before Tuesday’s deadline. Kaine did the same at The Faith Center, but in English. Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to give everyone an equal chance saying, “There’s a lot of people lying on the side of the road in the society we live in and all over this country… Some need education, some need an opportunity, some just need a word of friendship because they’re lonely and they’re on the side of the road. And the question that’s before us is do we pass by or do we go over, even if we don’t know all the answers, even if we don’t know all the words to say, do we at least roll up our sleeves and walk over and try to do what we can to help out? … This is not a congregation of people who walk on by, and Hillary Clinton is not a person who walks on by, and that’s why I’m so proud to be with her.”
Holton held two events in Florida, a Women for Hillary event in Tallahassee and a Canvass Kick-Off event in Panama City. At each, Holton stressed the importance of electing the Clinton/Kaine ticket to the White House. Holton also spoke about the importance of voting urging everyone to register before Tuesday’s extended deadline and asked everyone to vote on November 8th. She thanked the volunteers in Panama City and urged them to keep making calls, knocking on doors, and helping people register to vote. Videos from today’s event will be posted when/if available.
On Friday, Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea Clinton all campaigned for Hillary across Nevada. In Reno, Bill spoke with 300 people at Hillary for America’s headquarters in the city. He touted Hillary’s record and explained that she was a centrist candidate that was willing to work with others to get things done. He urged them to come out and support her at the caucuses. Chelsea, meanwhile, was in Las Vegas canvassing for her mom. She knocked on doors and spoke with local residents.
The final event of the day was in Las Vegas and featured actress Eva Longoria as well as Chelsea, Bill, and Hillary. During her last speech before the caucus, Hillary urged voters to caucus for her and spoke about a number of her platform points. She thanked everyone who has helped her campaign in Nevada and her supporters. She said, “I know how hard so many of you have worked. I am so grateful for this campaign, for all the organizers and staff and I am particularly grateful for all the volunteers. It all culminates tomorrow at 11am when you and all the people you have touched and talked to come to caucus. That will be the moment when people are asked to step up … and make clear the kind of country we want. We need to knock down every barrier that stands in the way of Americans getting ahead and staying ahead.”

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton remained in New Hampshire where she attended a number of Get Out the Vote rallies, but Clinton also took the ground and knocked on doors in Manchester. She stopped at a number of houses and visited with local residents. Clinton is behind in the New Hampshire primary polls, but she has not given up on the state. In addition to her efforts, a number of other politicians were in the state campaigning on her behalf including former Secretary of State Madeleline Albright, Senator Al Franken, and Senator Cory Booker.
Clinton attended three rallies in New Hampshire on Saturday. The events in Concord and Portsmouth were typical events during which Clinton spoke to the crowd before taking questions from the audience. However, the event she held at New England College in Henniker was different in that the campaign challenged Bernie Sanders supports to attend the town hall event. She was asked tough questions about her ties to Wall Street, and she was able to defend herself in person. It was an interesting strategy that might earn her some respect and support. On a cold winter day in New Hampshire, volunteers turned up to help Hillary for America canvass in Manchester. They expected Mayor Marty Walsh to be there, but they got a real surprise when Hillary Clinton stopped by and rallied the volunteers before she left for Iowa. She thanked the volunteers for their support before they went out and knocked on doors asking voters to support her in the upcoming primary. As the Iowa Caucuses near, Hillary Clinton and Hillary for America are hitting Iowa hard with high profile Democrats and celebrities. This weekend, a number of high profile supporters will be meeting with volunteers and supporters alike. Those in Iowa this weekend include New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, EMILY’s List President Stephanie Schriock, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, actor Tony Goldwyn, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, and actress Jamie Lee Curtis. We will not writing posts for all these events because many of them take place at Hillary for America offices across the state and are meant to rally the volunteers who are calling voters and knocking on doors in support of Hillary. I apologize in advance, because as more and more events held by Clinton supporters take place, I am likely to leave some out.
