On Monday, Hillary Clinton announced her next project: a political group called Onward Together. Clinton announced Onward Together on Twitter and in an email blast to her supporters. In the email, Clinton said, “From the Women’s March to airports across the country where communities are welcoming immigrants and refugees to town hall meetings in every community, Americans are speaking out like never before. I believe more fiercely than ever that citizen engagement at every level is central to a strong and vibrant democracy.”
Visiting the website for Onward Together allows supporters to sign up for updates, donate, and read the mission of the newly created group. The mission statement is below:
Onward Together is dedicated to advancing the vision that earned nearly 66 million votes in the last election. By encouraging people to organize, get involved, and run for office, Onward Together will advance progressive values and work to build a brighter future for generations to come.

Earlier this month, Chelsea Clinton was interviewed by Refinery29. It is her first interview since her mother, Hillary Clinton, lost the presidential election to Donald Trump in November. In the interview, Chelsea talks about the work the Clinton Foundation continues to do, but the main discussion was about how her mother’s supporters should move forward after the election. Chelsea said, “Everything we believed before the election, we still believe. Everything we worked so hard for, we have to continue to work hard for. It requires engagement in our own communities.”
Chelsea recommended that everyone step up by subscribing to reliable news organizations, taking part in peaceful demonstrations such as the Women’s March, and that everyone donate to organizations that are likely to suffer during the Trump administration such as Planned Parenthood. She said that no matter how we are feeling, whether we are hopeful or angry, we should turn those feelings into actions. “Use those emotions to engage and organize and advocate to protect and advance what you think matters most. Whether that’s combatting climate change, or protecting women’s rights, fighting against gun violence, or advocating for LGBTQ equality,” she said. Read the full article HERE.

On Friday evening, Hillary Clinton held a conference call with supporters and campaign volunteers to thank them for their hard work and dedication during the campaign. Clinton said that while the loss was tough, we can still fight for the causes we believe in going forward. She urged everyone not to give up and to stay involved in the process. As the Southeast addresses the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, which killed at least 26 Americans and caused damage in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia, Hillary Clinton issued the following statement:
“In times of crisis, Americans come together to support each other. That’s what we need to do now, as North Carolina continues to grapple with dangerous floods, widespread power outages persist, and communities from Florida to Virginia begin to pick up the pieces.
My thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of Hurricane Matthew’s victims. The federal government should do everything it can to help states and communities respond to the storm and build back better to withstand future disasters. Those who can afford to can help families in need by donating to the Florida Disaster Fund and to Team Rubicon, a veterans’ service organization specializing in disaster response.
As we rebuild and remember those who were lost, we must also address the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Haiti, where it’s reported that Hurricane Matthew killed more than a thousand people. I encourage everyone who can to give what they are able to Unicef’s Haiti relief efforts here.”
On Monday, Hillary Clinton released a statement following devastating flooding in Louisiana that has claimed 13 lives and damaged tens of thousands of homes. She called on her supporters to donate to the Red Cross so that much needed supplies can be sent to the affected areas. Clinton also calls on Congress to pass funding to combat Zika virus as the flooding will likely breed mosquitoes. A copy of Clinton’s statement is below.
“This month’s floods in Louisiana are a crisis that demand a national response. More than 30,000 people have been rescued by the Coast Guard, National Guard, and other emergency responders. Thousands of people have lost everything. At least 13 lost their lives. We must make sure that all resources are brought to bear in responding to the crisis and helping communities rebuild.
That is why I have called on supporters of this campaign to give what they can to the Red Cross, to bring much-needed aid and supplies to the more than 100,000 people affected by the floods. We also need to make sure that this crisis is not compounded by another, by ensuring mosquito abatement is happening hand-in-hand with flood response, to reduce the risk of mosquitoes that could carry the Zika virus from gaining a foothold in Louisiana.
The best way to help Louisianans affected by these terrible floods is to make sure they have the resources they need today. I am committed to visiting communities affected by these floods, at a time when the presence of a political campaign will not disrupt the response, to discuss how we can and will rebuild together.
In times of crisis, Americans have always come together to lift each other up, support each other, and rebuild stronger and better than before. That is what we must do now in Louisiana, and I am committed to standing with Louisianans every step of the way.”
This year has been busy for Hillary Clinton. Before announcing her presidential campaign on April 12, Clinton gave a number of paid speeches. But after announcing her campaign, Clinton began traveling around the country visiting with Americans and hosting rallies and town halls. As she has visited 38 states and spoke with thousands of Americans, she has outlined a solid platform and her vision for the future of America. In her first official campaign rally held at Four Freedoms Park on Roosevelt Island in New York, Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined what she called the “four fights” of her campaign. Throughout the 45 minute speech, Clinton made references to her experience as a lawyer, Senator, Secretary of State, and as a mother and grandmother. The theme of the speech was the prosperity of Americans, and she shared stories from people she has met and her mother to make her points. In her speech, Clinton also criticized Republicans for not looking forward and believing too much in “yesterday.” She vowed to fight for everyday Americans and prepare the United States for the future.
The key to her speech was the “four fights.” She outlined what those will be, but said that said will outline specific policy changes in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, her vision is clearly outlined by the four fights:
Economy: Clinton outlined a number of changes that would serve to strengthen the economy including strengthening the middle class, increasing the minimum wage, providing equal pay for women, making it illegal to discriminate against LBGT workers, rewriting the tax code, and focusing on lifelong learning that will allow works to adapt to a changing workplace. She also called for more affordable college for everyone and improving the infrastructure by creating an infrastructure bank that would sell bonds to help fund improvements roads, bridges, power grids, and broadband Internet. She called for protecting the environment by investing in clean energy and ending the denial of climate change. All these changes, which she will continue to outline in the coming weeks, will create jobs and improve the lives of American workers.
Family: Families have struggled since the recession and Clinton believes that more attention needs to be paid to helping families by guaranteeing paid sick days, paid family leave, pre-school and child care. She also wants to focus on the uneven incarceration polices and provide help to those suffering with mental health issues and addiction.
America’s Leadership: America has long been the leader in the world, but for America to maintain its leadership and influence, Clinton argues that we have not only show strength in our military, but we have to create economic and diplomatic partnerships across the globe. At the same time, we have to stand up to our adversaries and stand by our allies. We need to be better prepared against cyber attacks and provide better services to our veterans after they have served our country.
Governmental Reform: Clinton argued that now is the time to take government out of corporate hands and back into the hands of Americans. She called for stopping the flow of unaccountable campaign funds, undoing Citizens United, and improving government technology so it is more open to the pubic. She also called for improvements to voting including universal registration, longer early voting periods, and ensuring that voting rights are protected despite the Supreme Court’s recent decision.
Clinton’s speech is only the beginning of the next phase of her campaign. Over the coming weeks, Clinton will travel across the country to spread her message and continue to flesh out her campaign platform. Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to New Hampshire on Friday. In her second trip to the state since announcing her presidential campaign, she, again, focused on visiting with small business owners. Stopping in Exeter and Derry she visited with small business owners and toured a brewery, book store, and ice cream shop. Clinton held a roundtable with small business owners at the Smuttynose Brewery. She concluded her trip by holding a private visit with supporters in Amherst.
Clinton’s visit to New Hampshire was overshadowed by the State Department’s release of 900 pages of Clinton’s emails related to the attack on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. She took a few questions from reporters and was asked about the emails’ release. Clinton responded by saying, ““First of all, I’m glad that the emails are starting to come out. This is something that I’ve asked to be done for a long time, and those releases are beginning. I want people to be able to see all of them, and it is a fact that we have released all of them that have any government relationship whatsoever. In fact, the State Department had the vast majority of those, anyway, because they were sent to ‘dot-gov’ accounts.” You can see the emails that were released by clicking here.

Hillary Rodham Clinton made a stop in Chicago today where she spoke with parents and childcare providers at an early childhood education center. In her opening address, Clinton stated the importance of early childhood eduction and the rising cost of child care. She criticized government policies and the Republican budget, which takes funding away from child care services. In the early stages of her campaign, she has focused heavily on family values, and that did not change today. Clinton said, “America cannot turn its back on our children and our working parents.” Following her opening statement, Clinton took part in a roundtable event with the parents and childcare providers, which was closed to the media.
Tonight, Clinton is expected to appear at two campaign fundraisers.

Hillary Rodham Clinton concluded her second trip to Iowa today in Cedar Falls. Clinton’s primary focus today was small businesses, and she took part in a discussion with small business owners and local residents. As with her first trip to Iowa a few weeks ago, Clinton listened as small business owners talked about their struggles. She made it clear that she was in favor of making small business ownership easier saying, “I want to be the small-business president.” She outlined four areas she intends to turn her focus in assisting small business owners: reducing bureaucratic processes, simplifying the tax code, new tax credits, and access to financing.
After the roundtable discussion, Clinton took questions from reporters. She has been criticized for not talking to the press lately. Media outlets reported that it had been 28 days since Clinton last took a question from a reporter. Following the event, she answered questions from the media, which can be seen in the video below.
After leaving Cedar Rapids, Clinton made an unannounced stop in Independence, Iowa where she visited a number of small businesses.
