On Friday, Hillary Clinton spoke at the Society of Irish Women’s dinner in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She spoke to the group for nearly twenty minutes about a number of topics including her local connections. Her grandfather worked in a Scranton lace mill for more than 50 years. She said that it was her father who left the area for Chicago, where she grew up. Clinton wrapped up her speech by hinting that she may be planning a political comeback soon. “I’m like a lot of my friends right now. I have a hard time watching the news, I’ll confess. I am ready to come out of the woods and to help shine a light on what is already happening around kitchen tables, at dinners like this,” she said. Watch a full video of Clinton’s speech below.
On Thursday evening, presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump shared the stage again, but this time for the annual Al Smith Charity Dinner in New York City. Each of the candidates took time to address the crowd and told several jokes at the other’s expense. Clinton spoke about the importance of Smith’s work and the work his charities have done in between delivering a series of one-liners. She opened her speech saying, “I took a break from my rigorous nap schedule to be here. And as all of you heard, it’s a treat for all of you, because usually I charge a lot for speeches like this.” There was mix of good and bad jokes from both candidates, but it was interesting seeing them in the same room and acting cordial toward each other the day after their bitter final debate. On Saturday, Tim Kaine gave the keynote address at the Human Rights Campaign National Dinner in Washington, DC. During his speech, Kaine spoke about his personal support for the LGBTQ community and Hillary Clinton’s campaign pledge to ensure equal rights for the LGBTQ community is ensured with the passage of the Equality Act. Kaine, a Catholic, spoke about the Catholic Church’s position on same-sex marriage saying, “My full, complete, unconditional support for marriage equality is at odds with the current doctrine of the church that I still attend. But I think that’s going to change, too.” He also criticized Donald Trump’s position on LGBTQ rights saying that Trump is “no friend to this community, and he’s no friend to the value of equality.” A video of Kaine’s speech is below.
While in Washington, DC, Kaine also attended a DC for45 fundraising event for Hillary for America.
In his home state of Virginia, Tim Kaine kicked off on his first solo campaign event since being announced as Hillary Clinton’s running mate. He spent the day in Richmond where he started the day by visiting Hillary for America volunteers. Then, he held a rally in the city this afternoon. During his speech, he spoke about a number of Clinton’s plans including her proposals for education, infrastructure, and her jobs plan. Kaine contrasted the economic plans proposed by Clinton and Donald Trump saying that, according to study by Moody’s, Trump’s plan would lead to recession while Clinton’s would stimulate and grow the economy. Kaine called Clinton a leader and spoke about her experience and knowledge on a number of domestic and foreign policy issues. Watch a video of Kaine’s speech below.
Meanwhile, in Boulder, Colorado, a dinner and conversation was held with Governor John Hickenlooper and Kimbal Musk. The dinner featured foot prepared by Chef Biju Thomas, and the topic of conversation included farming and food sourcing.

On Sunday, Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail visiting Indiana and Michigan. Her first appearance of the day was in a taped interview on this morning’s State of the Union on CNN. During her interview with Jake Tapper, Clinton refused to call herself the presumptive nominee for the Democratic nomination saying that while she was ahead, there is still work to be done. She also said that she would be willing to work with rival Bernie Sanders in building a progressive platform for the Democratic Party going forward. A video of the full interview is below.
Clinton began her public events today in Indianapolis, Indiana where she spoke at an organizing event. She focused on the importance of the 2016 election and how it will affect key policies and the Supreme Court going forward. Clinton spoke about her manufacturing plans saying, “Indiana has so much potential for the future and I want it to be part of the kind of positive, confident future I’m offering in this election.” Clinton went on to criticize Indiana Governor Mike Pence and the Republican controlled General Assembly for placing strict restriction on abortion access and the passage of a right-to-work law. She said, “I worry very much, and I don’t mean this to be partisan or political, but if you look at what built the American middle class, it really had a lot to do with the rise of the American labor movement. So all the efforts you are seeing in Republican-dominated states to erode (and) undercut unions, I think makes it harder for us to raise middle-class wages, to raise the opportunity for people to go further, to really rebuild the middle class.” A full video from the event is below.
Clinton traveled to Michigan where she was the keynote speaker at the Detroit NAACP Annual Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner. During her speech, she spoke about a number of platform topics including criminal justice reform, prison reform, gun control, and the refinancing of student loan debt. Clinton said that she wanted to continue to the progress of the last eight years. Speaking about President Barack Obama, Clinton said “We cannot let Barack Obama’s legacy fall into Donald Trump’s hands.” A full video of her speech is below.
While in Michigan, Clinton attended a fundraiser in Birmingham that was hosted by Jerry and Caryn Acker, Dr. Mahmoud Al-Hadidi, Wayne County Executive Warren C. Evans, Barry and Nicole Goodman, Patti Kukula, and Suzanne Shank.
On Saturday, Hillary Clinton returned to Wisconsin where she held a Get Out the Vote event at the Lismore Hotel in Eau Claire. During her speech, Clinton spoke about a number of her platform points including jobs, higher education, and health care, but she tailored the points to specific Wisconsin issues. She criticized Republican governor and former presidential candidate Scott Walker for undoing years of progress in the state saying, But there was something else I learned as I got older, how Wisconsin was such a pioneer, a pioneer in making progress on behalf of working people, a pioneer in an idea … Wisconsin understood before most of rest of country did that economy and higher education were linked. I admire that. (I’m) disheartened to see the dismantling of so many pieces of what made Wisconsin not just a great state to live in and a great state to work in, but an example for so many others.” A video from today’s event is below.
In the evening, both Democratic presidential candidates, Clinton and Bernie Sanders, spoke at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s 2016 Founders Day gala in Milwaukee. During Clinton’s speech, she not only focused on her presidential run, but the importance of getting Democrats elected at the local level in Wisconsin. Again, she called out Governor Walker for a number of his policies and criticized the appointment of Rebecca Bradley to the state Supreme Court. Bradley has been criticized for her stance on a number of issues and Clinton said, “There is no place on any Supreme Court or any court in this country, no place at all for Rebecca Bradley’s decades-long track record of dangerous rhetoric against women, survivors of sexual assault and the LGBT community.” A full video from the event is available on C-SPAN.
Also appearing in Wisconsin on behalf of Hillary for America was Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards. She spoke with supporters on the campus of University of Wisconsin-Madison. Meanwhile, a fundraiser hosted by Susannah Gray and Michael John Williams was held in Washington, Connecticut. The fundraiser featured an appearance by Foreign Policy Advisor Daniel Kurtz-Phelan. A second fundraiser was held in Boston, Massachusetts. The fundraiser featured an appearance by Olympic figure skater Michelle Kwan.

On Friday, Bill and Hillary Clinton were on the campaign trail and attended events in three different states. Hillary began by attending a fundraiser event in Boston, Massachusetts hosted by Jeanne and Jonathan Lavine. Then, Hillary attended two events in New Hampshire where she was joined by three Senators: Minnesota’s Amy Klobuchar, Michigan’s Debbie Stabenow and New Hampshire’s Jeanne Shaheen. The group also included Lily Ledbetter and Emily’s List president Stephanie Schriock. The six women called themselves the “sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits” and attended events in Nashua and Manchester where they rallied women voters. They each took time to speak to voters, asking for their support in next week’s primary.
In the evening, Hillary attended the McIntyre-Shaheen 100 Club Dinner where thousands of Democrats packed Verizon Wireless Arena. Bernie Sanders and Hillary both attended the event and spoke to the crowd. Clinton said, “I’m going to compete for every vote here. I’ll answer every question. I’ll work my heart out to earn your support.” The event is important because while Hillary trails Sanders in the polls, nearly one third of those surveyed are still undecided. Meanwhile, Bill was in Las Vegas, Nevada holding a grassroots organizing event. Speaking at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Center, Bill urged voters of all ages to support Hillary. He framed her a change maker and touted her decades of experience. Bill criticized Sanders’ heath care plan and how starting over with heath care is just not an option. He then turned his attention to millennials, who are Sanders biggest supporters. He sympathized with their anger with the status quo, and said, “I get it — a lot of people are mad. When you’ve lived long enough and you’ve got more yesterdays than tomorrows … what you want is for every single American to be able to walk into a future where you can make your own choices, dream your own dreams and live the future you want.” A video from the event is below.

On Wednesday, Hillary Clinton appeared at the West Caucus Dinner in Las Vegas, Nevada with the other Democratic presidential candidates, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders. Each of the candidates gave a speech, and Clinton focused on the upcoming primary and and argued that she is the only one of the three Democratic candidates that can beat the Republicans in November. She said, “I am proud to be running in a Democratic primary with my opponents. They have a lot of good ideas and we share a lot of the same values. But your choice in the caucus really matters. On February 20th you will begin the process of choosing a president who has what it takes to stand up to the Republicans, to make a real difference for American families.” A full video from the event is below and is bookmarked at Clinton’s speech.
While in Las Vegas, Clinton also took some time to visit the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas. She also spoke with the Las Vegas Sun about a variety of topics including solar energy, the minimum wage, and nuclear waste disposal. The full interview can be read HERE.
On Sunday evening, Hillary Clinton attended New Hampshire Democratic Party’s annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner fundraiser in Manchester. All three of the Democratic presidential candidates attending including Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley. Clinton rallied the crowd with a speech in which she focused on her platform policies and blasted Republicans for not supporting everyday Americans. She said, “We’re going to make our economy and our country work for everyone, not just those at the top. I’m running for everyone who has been knocked down but refused to be counted out. We’re not going to do it by making promises we can’t keep. On Wednesday, Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to New Hampshire where she began her day by attending a Politics and Eggs breakfast in Manchester. Clinton gave a speech before taking questions from those in attendance. Clinton spoke about a number of topics, but one of her comments has made headlines. She is against completely abolishing the death penalty, something that her Democratic opponents Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley support. She said, “We have a lot of evidence now that the death penalty has been too frequently applied, and too often in a discriminatory way. So I think we have to take a hard look at it. I do not favor abolishing it, however, because I do think there are certain egregious cases that still deserve the consideration of the death penalty, but I’d like to see those be very limited and rare, as opposed to what we’ve seen in most states.” A video from the event will be posted when/if available.
After making a stop at Moulton Farm in Meredith, Clinton attended the Grover Cleveland Dinner in Bartlett for an event hosted by the Democratic Committee for Carroll County. During Clinton’s speech, she spoke about her political platform and plans as president. Clinton has been criticized for comments she made about the issues in Department of Veterans Affairs not being as widespread as everyone thinks. Clinton backpedaled saying that there is a problem, she said, “I will not let the Republicans use the problem as an excuse to privatize the VA.” A video of her speech is below.
