On Friday, Hillary Clinton gave her speech since becoming the first female presidential candidate to secure the nomination of a major political party. Speaking at the Planned Parenthood Action Fund Membership Event in Washington, DC, Clinton went after Republican Donald Trump for his comments on women and women’s rights. She thanked the organization for all the work they do for women and said that it is vital to keep sex education, access to contraceptives, and access to abortion available to everyone. She said, “We know that restricting access doesn’t make women less likely to end a pregnancy. It just makes abortion less safe. On Thursday, Hillary Rodham Clinton gave a speech at Case Western Reserve University as a part of a “Commit to Vote” event where she outlined parts of her campaign platform. She took the opportunity to criticize Ohio Governor John Kasich for signing a bill that bans rape-crisis centers from providing information about abortions. She criticized other Republican candidates for being anti-choice and against groups such as Planned Parenthood and organizations that provide women’s health services. She said, “I would like these Republican candidates to look the mom in the eye who caught her breast cancer early because she was able to get a screening for cancer or the teenager who didn’t get pregnant because she has access to contraception. Or anyone who has ever been protected by an HIV test.”
