Folks Across The Country Are Sharing Their Stories Of Quick and Easy Voting

The polls have only been open for a few hours and we expect millions more Americans to vote before the day is over. The good news is, with more polling locations and longer hours in many states, it’s never been easier to vote. Folks across the country are sharing their experiences, saying that voting was “quick,” “easy” and “made me feel great!”

In OHIO…

Al Gore Campaigns for Hillary in Colorado

Al Gore returned to the campaign trail on Monday. He campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton at events in Boulder and Lakewood, Colorado. Gore spoke about the importance of the election and its potential impact on the climate. He said that Clinton is the only candidate that admits climate change is real and offers a viable plan to combat its affects. “This election in particular is a climate election. You don’t have to go very far from downtown Boulder to answer the question of, ‘must we change?'” Gore then spoke about the importance of voting and encouraged everyone to get out tomorrow adding, “The outcome of this election is going to be up to you. Take it from me — every vote counts. (This election) is not just between two people with two different personalities, two different styles and approaches; it’s between two different governing policies. When all of the shouting dies down, that’s when the real decisions take place. This election means the world. Clinton understands that we must change. She understands that the international process requires a president that’s willing to stand up. The other candidate says he’s opposed to all of those things. To me, it seems it’s an extremely clear choice. We can do it. Let’s elect Hillary Clinton.” A video of his speech in Boulder is below.

Senator Sanders Campaigns for Hillary in Iowa, Colorado

Senator Bernie Sanders remained in Iowa this morning for a Get out the Vote rally in Ames. During his speech, Sanders spoke about the importance of electing Hillary Clinton saying, “Hillary Clinton has a very different perspective [and] she understands what Donald Trump does not understand.” He outlined a number of Clinton’s platform points including her plans to combat climate change, reform campaign finance, create jobs, raise the minimum wage, and make college more affordable. Sanders concluded by asking everyone to vote saying that the election is too important to sit out. “You don’t like Hillary Clinton? You Don’t like Donald Trump? Fine. You like yourself? Get beyond personality; that means taking a hard look at what the candidates stand for,” Sanders said. A video from the event is below.

Sanders then spoke at a Get out the Vote event in Colorado Springs. Sanders spoke about a number of the progressive points from Clinton’s platform including her proposals to raise the minimum wage, combat climate change, fix the Affordable Care Act, and make college at public institutions tuition free for students making less than $125,000 per year. He urged everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday and to encourage others to vote as well. “If you take two or three of your friends to the polls, you double or triple your impact,” he said. Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Colorado

Bill Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton today in Colorado. At his first event, Bill spoke to a group of supporters at Union Depot in Pueblo. He outlined key points of Hillary’s platform including her plans to create jobs and build and economy that works for everyone. Throughout his speech, Bill referred to Donald Trump, but never mentioned him by name. He criticized his temperament and lack of experience. He concluded the event by asking everyone to vote for Clinton on Tuesday saying, “If the people vote, she’ll win. I believe she’ll be the first woman president but even those things are not as important as what it will mean for you.”

He then spoke at the EXDO Event Center in Denver where he covered a number of the same topics as in Pueblo including her plans to make college more affordable and pass comprehensive immigration reform. The focus of Bill’s speech was about the type of America we want to build for future generations. Do we want a president who looks to the past or one who plans for the future. “This is a change election — I do agree with her opponent on that. The question is: Are you going to change forward, to build on what we are doing right?  … Or are you going to change backward and go back to trickle down economics on steroids?,” he said. He concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote on Tuesday.

At his final stop of the day in Fort Collins, Bill focused on unity and how Hillary’s plans ensure that Americans are united in enjoying the prosperity offered in the United States. Unlike her opponent who is focused on dividing people to gain votes, Bill argued that Hillary aims to create a stronger and more united country. He urged everyone to vote for Hillary on Tuesday saying, “We’re the longest-lasting democracy in human history and that’s for a reason: We keep making progress toward our more perfect union.” Videos from today’s events will be added when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton Campaigns for her Mother in Colorado and Wisconsin

Chelsea Clinton spoke at a Get Out the Vote event in Boulder, Colorado this morning where she urged supporters to get out and vote on November 8th. During her speech, Chelsea spoke about a number of Hillary Clinton’s platform points including her plans to raise the minimum wage and make college more affordable. She made the case for her mother saying, “This election is both about defeating Donald Trump and electing a woman who has been fighting for and delivering for children and families and women for literally longer than I’ve been alive. And I believe that if we keep talking to people about what is actually at stake in this election, we will win.” A video from the event is below.

Chelsea then traveled to Wisconsin where she spoke with supporters in Eau Claire and Oshkosh. At each event, Chelsea outlined her mother’s blueprint for America and spoke about a number of Hillary’s proposed policies including criminal justice reform and introducing common sense gun control. Chelsea also spoke about her mother’s plan to pay for her proposals by increasing taxes on those making over $250,000 per year. Meanwhile, middle class Americans, those making less then that amount, will not see any tax increases. Chelsea Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Colorado

Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother in Aurora, Colorado on Tuesday where she spoke with supporters about Hillary Clinton’s blueprint for America. Chelsea discussed her mother’s plans to create new jobs by investing in American manufacturing and infrastructure, reducing gun violence by introducing mandatory background checks, and expanding access to mental health care. At the beginning of her speech, Chelsea was briefly interrupted by protesters, but she simply responded, “Love trumps hate, and we’re going to prove that November 8.” She concluded by asking everyone to vote. Senator Warren, Anne Holton Campaign for Hillary

On Tuesday, Senator Elizabeth Warren campaigned in Raleigh, North Carolina on behalf of Hillary Clinton and U.S. Senate candidate Deborah Ross. Warren spoke about Clinton’s presidential platform and the importance of electing Democrats down ballot such as Ross to ensure that Clinton’s plans to help everyday Americans are carried out. During her speech, Warren also attacked Donald Trump for his rhetoric and comments about women. She concluded by asking everyone to get out and vote for Clinton and Ross so we can continue to make progress in America. Watch a video of Warren’s speech below.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, Anne Holton spoke with volunteers at a phone bank event before heading to Henderson for an education roundtable. The roundtable discussion was held at Nevada State College and included a discussion about both early childhood education and higher education. Holton spoke about Clinton’s plans to expand preschool and head start. She also discussed Clinton’s proposal to make college more affordable for those repaying student loans and for future students. Meanwhile, two fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in New York City and was billed as “Hill’s Kitchen: A Tasting Event” with Tim Kaine. In Denver, Colorado, Chris Sacca, Founder and Chairman Lowercase Capital and star of ABC’s Shark Tank hosted an event at Galvanize.

Senator Sanders, Anne Holton Campaign for Hillary

On Monday, Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Colorado. At a Get out the Vote event on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, he spoke about a variety of issues including the rising cost of a higher education, income inequality, immigration, and health care. Sanders addressed how Clinton and the Democratic platform would address of each of the issues and urged them to get out and vote on November 8th. “Politics and political engagement does not end on Election Day. We need you on the day after the election,” he said urging the crowd, most of them student, to remain politically active following the election. A video of Sanders’ speech is below.

Anne Holton, wife of Clinton’s running mate Tim Kaine, was in Florida where she held two events in Pensacola. Her first stop was a Women for Hillary event during which she spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points including plans to increase the minimum wage, create new jobs, ensure equal pay for women, and provide paid family leave. She praised the campaign run by Clinton and Kaine saying, “It is important to have that person-to-person contact, it is even more important with the negativity we have had this campaign season. Holton also spoke with volunteers and supporters at a local canvass kick-off. She encouraged them to keep knocking on doors, putting up signs, and making phone calls. Meanwhile, three fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America as the final fundraising deadline approaches. The first was in Bethesda, Maryland where Tim Kaine attended a private fundraising event. Then, in Dallas, Texas, a LGBT and Allies event was held featuring a conversation with Vic Holmes, Mark Phariss, and Steve Rudner. In New York City, a Broadway for Hillary event was held. The event featured an appearance by Chelsea Clinton but a number of performances. The performers included: Sara Bareilles, Angela Bassett, Emily Blunt, Matthew Broderick, Ayodele Casel, Alan Cumming, Cynthia Erivo, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jones, Andrea McArdle, Sienna Miller, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Helen Mirren, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bernadette Peters, and Julia Roberts. Senators Sanders and Warren Campaign in Colorado

On Sunday evening, Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Denver, Colorado. Warren took the stage first and fired up the crowd at the Aurari campus student union hall where she spoke about the importance of defeating Republican Donald Trump in November. Sanders then took the stage and spoke about Clinton’s progressive platform, a platform he had a hand in creating. He said that electing Clinton is important, “We’re going to beat Trump and beat him badly. … And we’re going to bring millions of people together to create a political revolution. Hillary Clinton Campaigns in Colorado, Nevada

Hillary Clinton kicked off the day with a rally in Pueblo, Colorado where she spoke to supporters at the state fairgrounds. Clinton went after Republican Donald Trump for his divisive campaign and comments about women, immigrants, and Muslims. She attacked his business practices, including buying Chinese steel saying, “If he wants to make America great again, make America great again with American steel.” Clinton then spoke about a number of platform points including comprehensive immigration reform, investing in the infrastructure and clean energy, and making public colleges tuition free for families making less than $125,000 per year. Clinton then traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada where she spoke at a rally on the ground of the Smith Center for the Performing Arts. During her speech, she spoke about the importance of the election given the recent revelations about Trump and his divisive campaign.
