On this morning’s episode of “CBS This Morning,” Hillary Clinton was interviewed by co-host Charlie Rose. During the interview, Clinton outlined her plan to combat ISIS. Clinton is calling for a no fly zone over parts of Syria and does not plan to use ground troops. She said, “We don’t know yet how many Special Forces… trainers and surveillance and enablers might be needed. But in terms of thousands of combat troops like some on the Republican side are recommending… it should be a non-starter, both because I don’t think it’s the smartest way to go after ISIS – I think it gives ISIS a new recruitment tool if we get back in the fight.”

Clinton also was asked about her relationship with Wall Street and whether she could be tough of Wall Street bankers when many of them are contributing to their campaign. Clinton responded by saying, “Anybody who thinks that they can influence me on that ground doesn’t know me very well.” They also discussed the recent climate talks, Clinton’s infrastructure, and Russia. Charlie Rose

Thursday, July 17, 2014

Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared on PBS’s program Charlie Rose. The primary focus of the interview was Clinton’s time at the State Department and her book, Hard Choices. A number of current events were discussed, including Israel and the downing of a jetliner in Ukraine. Clinton made clear that she believed that Russia was behind the attack. She said, “There does seem to be some growing awareness that it probably had to be Russian insurgents. Now, how we determine that will require some forensics, but then if there is evidence pointing in that direction, the equipment had to have come from Russia. What more the Russians may or may not have done, we don’t know.”
