On Monday morning, the CBS Morning News aired an interview with Hillary Clinton. The interview, conducted by Charlie Rose, covered a number of topics including her thoughts on Republican Donald Trump (she called him the most dangerous candidate to ever run for president), her search for a running mate, and the damage she believes that was done to her credibility by the email investigations. On the day after securing the delegates to become the first female presidential candidate nominated by a major political party, Hillary Clinton made the press circuit today talking about her nomination, her plans for the country, the upcoming general election between her and presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, and a variety of other other topics. Clinton spoke to a series of television and print reporters for: The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, The Washington Post, The New York Times, ABC News, and CBS News. On Friday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary in New Jersey. Speaking to a crowd of supporters at Passaic County Community College in Paterson, Bill was confronted by a small group of protestors, but he turned his focus to Hillary’s platform and how her plans focus on “bridge-building, not wall building.” He criticized presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump for his rhetoric, and argued that it was better for everyone to work together to achieve our shared goals. He said, “We need the good freedom-loving, terror-hating Muslim-Americans to help us to lead the fight. We gotta live together and be citizens, together. We gotta protect everybody’s rights: Religious rights, women’s rights, voting rights and labor rights. We gotta prove to that we can do this together.”
Bill then traveled to Ewing Township where he spoke at the College of New Jersey. He, again, spoke about Trump and his plans to shut the borders of the United States to outsiders. Bill argued that does not work because of modern technology and social media. He said that we have to have a multi-front strategy that includes the internet. He said, “San Bernadino, our latest terrorist incident, was because of people converted over the Internet. America desperately needs its Muslims who love freedom and hate terror and want to be a part of this country.” Videos from today’s events will be posted when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton also attended two events in New Jersey. She took part in the opening of Hillary for America office in Metuchen and Bloomfield. At each event, she addressed local supporters and volunteers who came out for the event. Chelsea spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and why Hillary is best qualified for the White House. She thanked everyone for their support and asked for their vote on June 7.
Hillary, meanwhile, was in California where she spoke to CBS San Francisco. During the exclusive interview, she spoke about her platform and plans should she become president. She was asked about Trump a number of times, and she expressed her concern saying, “I’ve never seen a candidate like Donald Trump; that’s fair. And I’ve never seen so much concern – even in his own party – by Republicans about their nominee.” She also spoke about the importance of immigration reform, the need to upgrade the country’s infrastructure, and her thoughts on legalized marijuana. Two California fundraisers were held on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was in San Francisco and focused on LGBT issues. The conversation featured Robby Mook, Campaign Manager; Teddy Goff, Chief Digital and Technology Strategist; and David Plouffe, Campaign Manager, Obama 2008. The second event was held in Santa Monica and was hosted by Roberta Conroy, Ashley Kennedy and Rosezetta Cummings, Claire Lucas and Judy Dlugacz, Andrea Meyerson, and Valerie Ploumpis. The event featured a conversation with Senator Tammy Baldwin, Lily Tomlin, Meredith Baxter, Suzanne Westenhoefer, Stephanie Miller, and Billie Jean King.
Last night, Hillary Clinton appeared in a pre-taped clip on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The taped clip shows Clinton and Colbert chatting at the Carnegie Deli in New York City. During their conversation, they discussed a number of topics including her husband, the New York primary, and her thoughts on Republican Donald Trump. Following their discussion, Colbert left the deli leaving Clinton with the bill! The clip from the show is below.
On the eve of the New York primary, Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary Clinton were canvassing the state for support before tomorrow’s primary. A list of Hillary’s favorite New York restaurants was published by Thrillist, and she attended a number of events in and around New York City. Hillary began by appearing on a morning radio show called “The Breakfast Club“. During the interview, Clinton spoke about a number of her key platform points and the importance of tomorrow’s primary in New York. She also was asked to name something that she always carry with her. Her answer was “hot sauce.” Watch a video of the full interview HERE to find out why.
Hillary then hosted a Get Out the Vote rally at the Hilton in Manhattan. During her speech, she spoke about her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders and his record on gun control. He voted for a 2005 bill that made gun manufacturers immune from lawsuits if their product was used illegally. She continued, “There are many powerful lobbyists in Washington, as I said in the debate the other night in Brooklyn. I said, look, Senator Sanders talks a lot about the greed and recklessness of Wall Street. But what about the greed and recklessness of the gun manufacturers?” Hillary went on to explain the importance of the 2016 election and asked for voters’ support tomorrow. Tonight, Hillary will appear on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Bill, meanwhile, was campaigning on Hillary’s behalf in Buffalo and Rochester. In Buffalo, Bill began by kicking off a phone bank at Hilary’s headquarters. He then made several stops in town visiting St. John Towers senior facility, Spot Coffee, and he had lunch at Alton’s restaurant in Cheektowaga. In Rochester, Bill was joined by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and spoke to a crowd of supporters. He spoke briefly about a number of Hillary’s platform points and asked for their vote in tomorrow’s primary. Chelsea has spent the last two days campaigning on behalf of her mother at smaller events across the state. Yesterday, Chelsea spoke at Get Out the Vote events in Poughkeepsie and Binghamton. At both events, she spoke about her mother’s experience and plans as president. She stressed the importance of the election saying that it is the “most important” election of her lifetime. Chelsea even took time to answer questions from those in attendance.
Today, Chelsea spoke with supporters at the Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls. She spoke about her mom’s experience saying, “I think when you look at who has a real record of being able to deliver progress and be able to make change, my mom really stands out.” She spoke about similar topics at her other stops in upstate New York. Chelsea also spoke with supporters at Coltivare in Ithaca. In Rome, Chelsea visited a local daycare center. Speaking at the Little Learners On Campus Child Care Center, she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and Hillary’s plan to expand it nationwide.
The Clintons weren’t the only ones campaigning on behalf of Hillary today. In New York, Carole King, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and Cecile Richards all joined Hillary and held events on their own. In Chicago, Illinois, David Plouffe, Campaign Manager for President Barack Obama in 2008, attended a fundraiser that was hosted by Kevin Conlon, Katelynd Duncan, Abby Erwin, Adam Hitchcock, Reyhad Kazmi, Samir Mayekar, Kevin Morris, Marilynn Rubio, Jon Samuels, Abigail Schmitz, and Joshua Schwartz.
Last night, Hillary Clinton was interviewed by Scott Pelley for the CBS Evening News. During the interview, Clinton was asked about her campaign, this weekend’s Nevada caucus, Democratic rival Bernie Sanders, and Republican Donald Trump. She was also asked why she thought Sanders and Trump were so popular. Clinton said, “Look, I do think, Scott, people are angry. People feel here government’s not working for them. The economy’s not working. The political system is not working. But I also see in the eyes of the people I’m meeting with, “Okay, tell me something I can believe. Don’t over-promise. Tell me what I can believe you will do for me and my family.” And that’s what I’ve tried to do.” Clips from the the interview are below.
On the morning of the Iowa caucuses, Hillary Clinton made the morning show rounds appearing on NBC’s The Today Show, CBS This Morning, and ABC’s Good Morning America. In each of the appearances, Clinton discusses her strategy for beating Bernie Sanders tonight. Clinton admitted that the race was going to be tight, but she is optimistic. She credited her team and the people of Iowa and asked them to come out tonight to support her. This morning, Hillary Clinton appeared on CBS’s Face the Nation. In her 10-minute interview with host John Dickerson, Clinton was asked about the upcoming primaries in New Hampshire and Iowa, two races that are close between her and chief rival, Bernie Sanders.
She was also asked about a string of personal attacks that have been directed and her and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. In the past she had vowed to not respond to these attacks, but today she said, “If he wants to engage in personal attacks from the past, that is his prerogative. You know, so be it. There are very clear distinctions. He can say whatever he wants about me. Let the voters judge that. But I am not going to let him or any of the other Republicans rip away the progress that we have. It has been too hard fought for. And I am going to stand up and make it clear there is a huge difference between us.” A video of the full interview is above.
On this morning’s episode of “CBS This Morning,” Hillary Clinton was interviewed by co-host Charlie Rose. During the interview, Clinton outlined her plan to combat ISIS. Clinton is calling for a no fly zone over parts of Syria and does not plan to use ground troops. She said, “We don’t know yet how many Special Forces… trainers and surveillance and enablers might be needed. But in terms of thousands of combat troops like some on the Republican side are recommending… it should be a non-starter, both because I don’t think it’s the smartest way to go after ISIS – I think it gives ISIS a new recruitment tool if we get back in the fight.”
Clinton also was asked about her relationship with Wall Street and whether she could be tough of Wall Street bankers when many of them are contributing to their campaign. Clinton responded by saying, “Anybody who thinks that they can influence me on that ground doesn’t know me very well.” They also discussed the recent climate talks, Clinton’s infrastructure, and Russia. While Hillary Clinton was in Colorado on Tuesday, she was interviewed by the Denver CBS affiliate. Shaun Boyd asked Clinton about many topics including the closure of the prison base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. She said, “I have as secretary of state supported the closing of Guantanamo and did everything I could to move prisoners there back to countries that would take them, but I’m not going to prejudge whatever the president proposes because I think we have to weigh all the pros and cons, and I want to see what his plan is.” You can watch the full the interview by CLICKING HERE.
