Following Hillary Clinton’s primary wins on Tuesday, Hillary for America has been fundraising. On Wednesday, two fundraisers were held in support of Hillary For America. The first was in Maine and hosted by the Maine for Hillary Finance Committee. The evening featured a conversation with Senator George Mitchell. The second event was in Washington, DC and hosted by Senior Policy advisor Jake Sullivan and Campaign Vice Chair Huma Abedin. Those attending got the opportunity to visit with the cast from ABC’s Scandal. The actors attending included Guillermo Diaz, Tony Goldwyn, Katie Lowes, Jeff Perry, and Bellamy Young.
Today, Chelsea Clinton was in Washington, DC where she attended an afternoon fundraiser. In New York City, Campaign Chair John Podesta attended an event hosted by Ambassador Gabriel Guerra-Mondragón. The event featured Chef Marianna Morrison. Senior Policy Advisor Ann O’Leary attended a fundraiser in San Francisco, California that was hosted by Janni Lehrer-Stein and Kath Delaney. The event included a performance by Mezzo-Soprano Laurie Rubin and pianist Jenny Taira. The final fundraiser was held at the The Theater at The Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The event was hosted by Tracey Baird, Jamie Babbit, Page Hurwitz, Krysia Plonka, Liz Patrick, Jamila Hunter, Karey Dornetto, Maggie Malina and David Tischman, Christy Spitzer, Wanda Sykes, Kassie Thornton, Cheryl Holliday, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Sue Murphy. Those attending the event included Cristela Alonzo, Maria Bamford, Michelle Buteau, Fortune Feimster, Retta, Tig Notaro, Natasha Leggero, Kate Walsh and Cybill Shepherd.

After cancelling an appearance in Kansas City on Tuesday due to severe weather, Bill Clinton attended was able to attend campaign events in Illinois and Missouri. In Evanston, Illinois, Clinton spoke to a group of supporters at the Beth Emet The Free Synagogue. During his speech, he spoke about a number of Hillary’s platform points including heath care, gun control, and her plans to make college more affordable. Of Hillary’s college plan, he said, “(Sanders) wants free tuition for everybody at state universities. (Hillary Clinton) wants everybody to be able to graduate without debt, from public or private institutions. I think her idea is better for one simple reason: If all we do is subsidize tuition, it will just lead to an inflation in tuition costs.” While in the area, Clinton also visited with patrons of MacArthur’s Restaurant in Austin.
Clinton was able to attend a Get Out the Vote event in St. Louis, Missouri. During the event at the Machinists Hall, Clinton spoke about Hillary’s experience and how she is the best candidate to handle major issues such as the economy, immigration reform, and heath care. He touched on her plan to make college more affordable, like he had earlier in the day, but he spoke about how those with current student debt will be able to re-finance and make paying of the debt easier and more affordable. He also spoke about her experience with bipartisan deals and said that she would be a leader that could bring both parties together on a number of issues.
In Washington, DC tonight, Jacques Panis, President of Shinola, was the key speaker at a fundraiser. Hosted by Jo Ousterhout and Shelly Porges, the event was targeted toward entrepreneurs and topic of conversation was “Rebuilding the American Dream.”
On Thursday, Hillary Clinton campaigned in South Carolina for the second day in a row. She began in Kingstree where the focus of her speech was on race and inequality. She also spoke about the importance of the election and current vacancy on the Supreme Court. Clinton criticized Senate Republicans for refusing to consider any nominee put forward by President Barack Obama. She vowed to continue the progress that President Obama has made over the last eight years saying, “I’m really proud to stand with President Obama, and I’m really proud to stand with the progress he’s made. I need your help, starting with this primary on Saturday.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.
In Florence, Clinton was introduced by Senator Cory Booker, who gave an energetic speech supporting Clinton and her platform. Speaking at the Cumberland United Methodist Church, Clinton outlined her plans to reign in gun violence and improve heath care. She said that the Affordable Care Act was a great achievement that she be built upon, not repealed or replaced. She said that her goal was for every American to be insured saying, “Imagine a tomorrow where 100 percent of us have healthcare, and it’s quality healthcare, affordable healthcare.” A video from the event is below.
In Myrtle Beach, Clinton spoke about her plans for improving higher education with a tiered tuition plan based on income. She also spoke about her plans to improve, not replace, the existing heath care system. Finally, she spoke about the importance of working together and the lack of bi-partisanship in Washington. Clinton said, “There’s a lot of work we have to do here at home There’s a lot of gridlock, a lot of partisanship, but you’ve got to build relationships and find common ground wherever it exists. We can disagree without being disagreeable, that’s how we build bridges.”
The final event of the day was a town hall held at the Royal Baptist Church in North Charleston. Speaking to a group of of predominately African-Americans, Clinton focused on her plans to reign in gun violence and police brutality. The event was set up as a town hall with State Sen. Marlon Kimpson asking questions. Members of the audience also asked a number of questions on a wide variety of topics, but the primary topic was gun violence. In Rock Hill, Bill Clinton spoke to a group of voters about Hillary’s experience and her plans should she win the presidency in November. During the Get Out the Vote event, he said that she is the most most experienced candidate in the race and that as president, she will fight for everyone. A video from Clinton’s speech is below.
A number of fundraisers were held on Thursday on behalf of Hillary for America. The first was held in San Antonio, Texas at the home of Paul Boskind and Robby McMillin-Boskind. Attending the event was former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The second fundraiser was held in London and featured former Senator Evan Bayh. The final fundraiser of the day was held at the Columbia, South Carolina home of Dr. Isabelle Mandell and Mary Minus. The featured speaker at the event was Senator Cory Booker.

On Wednesday, former President Bill Clinton was in Virginia where he spoke at two events. The first was a Get Out the Vote event in Alexandria. During his speech, Clinton spoke about his wife’s experience with breaking down barriers and how she will fight for everybody if elected president. He urged Virginia voters to get out and support Hillary in next Tuesday’s Primary. A full video from his speech will be posted when/if available.
Wrapping up the evening, Clinton hosted a Get out the Vote event in Richmond. During his speech at the Hippodrome, he spoke about Hillary’s plans as president and the primary difference between her and her Republican rivals. He said, “Hillary is running for president to put every American in the picture. She wants to run to make America whole again. Instead of building walls, she wants to tear down barriers.” He urged voters to support Hillary in next week’s primary saying, “We need to win Virginia. Also campaigning on behalf of Hillary for America was former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. She attended two fundraisers in Texas. The first was at the home of Azra Rauf in Houston. The second fundraiser was held in Austin. Meanwhile, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Senior Policy Advisor Ann O’Leary hosted a fundraiser conversation.

On Tuesday evening, Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders took part in a CNN Town Hall live from Columbia, South Carolina. The event was held before Saturday’s primary. During the event, Clinton spoke about battling societal racism saying that white people should recognize “that our experiences may not equip us to understand what a lot of our African-American fellow citizens go through every single day.” She was also asked about her speeches for Wall Street firms and how she is the best candidate to work with Republicans in Congress get things accomplished. Earlier in the day, Clinton held a “Breaking Down Barriers Forum” at the Central Baptist Church in Columbia. The event included speeches by mothers who have lost their children to gun violence and former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly. The topic of the forum was gun violence and policing policies. She spoke about systemic racism saying, “Something is very wrong when we have these incidents where kids can get arrested for petty crimes and lose their lives. Something is wrong when African Americans are three times more likely to be denied a mortgage as white people are, when the median wealth of black families is just a fraction of the median wealth for white families.” A video from the event is available on C-SPAN.
On the day of a New Hampshire Democratic Town Hall, Hillary Clinton attended three Get Out the Vote events across the state. Her first event of the day was in Derry where she was introduced by former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly. Clinton focused on the issues, but she pointed out that many on her team wanted her to skip New Hampshire since she is trailing in the polls and in Bernie Sanders territory. She said, “I have to tell you. I just could not ever skip New Hampshire. I could not even imagine not being here, not being in settings like these.” A video from the event in Derry is below.
At the remaining two events of the day, one in Dover and one in Manchester, Clinton’s message was similar. She defended herself against comments made by Sanders questioning her progressive values. She pointed to her career and her work with heath care, advocating for women and gay rights, and pushing for stricter gun control measures. She has famously said that she is a “progressive who knows how to get things done.” Today, she said, “We’ve been fighting the progressive fight and getting results for people for years. I hope we keep it on the issues. Because if it’s about our records, hey, I’m going to win by a landslide.” A video from Dover is below, and a video from Manchester will be added when/if available.
Tonight Clinton and Sanders will take part in a CNN Town Hall, similar to the one in Iowa last week. Then, the two Democratic candidates will go head-to-head tomorrow night as both have agreed to a debate which will air on MSNBC.
