Kaine, Holton Campaign in Iowa

On Monday, Tim Kaine and his wife Anne Holton campaigned in Iowa. Kaine and Holton appeared together at an event on the campus of Iowa State University in Ames. During his speech to students and supporters, Kaine spoke about Hillary Clinton’s plans to reduce the cost of higher education for students and reduce the debt of those who have already completed their education. He also spoke about her plans to expand the job market and increase the minimum wage. A video from Kaine’s speech will be added when/if available.

Holton then attended two additional events in Iowa. The first is a New College Compact discussion in Cedar Falls where she spoke with students about Clinton’s plans to reduce the cost of higher education and ensure that students can graduate free from debt. Holton then attended a phone bank kickoff event in Cedar Rapids where she spoke with volunteers and was even reunited with her college roommate, Janice Weiner. In New York City, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event was tailored toward the arts community and featured a conversation with De’Ara Balenger, HFA Director of Engagement.

Hillary Clinton Speaks at AFSCME Convention

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton was in Las Vegas where she addressed members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) union. Clinton spoke about her platform and support for unions and American workers. She also commented on the Republican Convention taking place this week in Cleveland saying it was nothing more than a show. “Lots of sound and fury. Even a fog machine. But when you pulled back the curtain, there was just Donald Trump, with nothing to offer the American people,” she said. A video of Clinton’s speech is below.

Following her speech, Clinton spoke at a voter registration event in Las Vegas. During her brief remarks, she stressed the importance of voting in the November election and sending a clear message to Donald Trump that his divisive rhetoric is not what America stands for. She thanked volunteers for helping with the registration process and urged the to continue working to get as many eligible Americans registered to vote as possible. A video of her remarks is below.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, California, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event included a conversation with Former Ambassador Eleni Kounalakis and featured the art work of Nora Ligorano and Mashall Reese.

Hillary Clinton Delivers Economic Speech in Ohio

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton delivered a speech on the economy in Columbus, Ohio during which she spoke about her economic policies saying that the economy “isn’t yet where we want it to be, but we are stronger and better positioned than anyone in the world.” She spoke about her plans to create new jobs and go after dangerous Wall Street practices. The main focus of her speech, however, was Republican Donald Trump and the danger of a Trump presidency for the economy. She attacked Trump for his divisive rhetoric, and she focused on his economic policies and business background. She pointed to several poor business decisions and failures as evidence that Trump’s poor judgement. She also spoke about how economists predict a recession if Trumps economic proposals are enacted. She wrapped up by saying that we are stronger together saying that Trump “believes in the worst of us.” A full video of Clinton speech is below.

The Clinton campaign also released a new website targeting Trump and his business history. The site is laid out like a magazine and is called “Art of the Steal.” The site, artofthesteal.biz, is available now and features a number of articles outlining how Trump’s policies would destroy the economy. A number of Trumps failed business ventures are outlined to illustrate his questionable judgement and his self-professed business skills. Dale Chihuly Exhibit at the Clinton Presidential Center

An exhibit of work by glass artist Dale Chihuly opened at the Clinton Center at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. A private event was held to celebrate the opening. The opening was attended by a number of special guests including Hillary Rodham Clinton.
