Clinton Makes Surprise Appearance at Tribeca Film Festival

On Saturday, Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Clinton took part in a panel discussion with Kathryn Bigelow and Imraan Ismail. The group discussed Bigelow’s film “The Protectors: Walk in the Rangers’ Shoes,” which focuses on the fight save elephants in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Clinton spoke about the world-wide effort to eliminate the demand for ivory, but she said more work needs to be done. “It became clear to everyone that this was not just a terrible crisis when it came to the elephant population, it was a trade, a trafficking that was funding a lot of bad folks, a lot of bad actors. It was being used to take ivory and sell it in order to buy more weapons, and support the kind of terroristic activity that these and other groups were engaged in,” she said. DNC Wrap-Up: Day 2

On Tuesday evening, the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia made history by officially nominating Hillary Clinton as the Democratic Party’s candidate for president. Clinton becomes the first female candidate to receive the nomination of a major political party. Clinton made a brief appearance via satellite from New York and thanked everyone for their support. She will officially accept the party’s nomination during her speech on Thursday.

In additional to the historic moment, the evening also featured another marquee night of speeches. Those taking the stage included Former Senator Tom Harkin, Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, Senator Chuck Schumer, the principal and students from Eagle Academy, Former Attorney General Eric Holder, Senator Barbara Boxer, Representative Joseph Crowley, Mothers of the Moment, former Governor of Vermont Howard Dean, and actress Meryl Streep. The most powerful speech of the evening was delivered by President Bill Clinton. He focused on he and Hillary’s relationship and personal life. He called Hillary “the best darn change-maker” that he has ever seen and said that she will fight for everyone and does not back down from a fight. The DNC is also featuring a series of videos highlighting Clinton’s career and personal life. Included in those videos Tuesday was one covering her time as Secretary of State and one about how she worked with the Eagle Academy. A third video was about the career of Bill Clinton. Clinton Surprises Crowd at Marc Anthony Concert

On Friday night, Hillary Rodham Clinton surprised the crowd when she was brought on stage by singer Marc Anthony. The concert took place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. Anthony introduced Clinton to the crowd, they posed for pictures, then she was escorted out and the concert continued. She did not speak to the crowd. The event appears to have spontaneous as she had expressed interest in attending the concert after taking part in fundraisers and giving a speech at a grassroots event earlier in the day. The videos below show a brief clip from the concert and a segment from the local news.

Clinton to Appear on CNN

Clinton takes part in a New Hampshire Independence Day Parade

Update: The full interview will air during the “The Situation Room” at 5 p.m. ET and will re-air on “Anderson Cooper 360” at 8 p.m. ET.

On Tuesday, Hillary Rodham Clinton will give her first televised interview since announcing her 2016 presidential campaign. The interview will be conducted by CNN Political Correspondent Brianna Keilar and will take place while Clinton is on the campaign trail in Iowa. The exact timing of the interview has yet to be announced.
