Bill Clinton Campaigns in OH, Chelsea in PA

On Friday, Bill Clinton campaigned for Hillary Clinton in Ohio at events in Delaware and Cincinnati. At both events, Bill focused on the issues and Hillary’s plans to held grow the economy and support the middle class. In Delaware, Bill was interrupted by protestors which led him to address anger. He said that he understand why people are mad at the political system, but he explained that anger may feel good, but it does not achieve results. “Anger and resentment and conflict may win a lot of attention, but it won’t put a single soul to work, it won’t save a single life in a complicated world, it won’t give a single person … a chance to fulfill their dreams,” he said. Chelsea Clinton was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she attended two events. Her first event was a Women for Hillary event where she spoke about Hillary’s plans to ensure equal pay for women and paid family leave. She also spoke about the hateful rhetoric being spewed by Donald Trump, and in particular his comments about women. “I never thought I would see in lifetime the type of rhetoric we’ve heard from Donald Trump and his campaign. We have to stand against the normalization of hate speech,” she said. Chelsea then answered questions from those in attendance.

Chelsea then spoke at the University of Pittsburgh where she focused on Hillary’s plans to reduce student loan interest rates for those currently repaying student loans, making public college tuition free for families making less than $125,000 per year, and ensuring equal rights for women and the LGBTQ community. Bill, Chelsea Clinton Campaign for Hillary on Thursday

Today, Bill Clinton continued his bus tour in Iowa with stops in Mount Vernon and Davenport. At his first event in Mount Vernon, Bill spoke with supporters on the campus of Cornell College. He focused on the issues saying that we, as a country, can do better than Donald Trump, and that his message is divisive at a time when we need more unity. Bill continued saying that the “us versus them” mentality is not productive. He urged everyone to vote on November 8th because this election will set the tone for the country for the next four years. Bill wrapped up his bus tour in Iowa at an event in Davenport. During the event, Bill was interrupted by protestors and Trump supporters that were removed by local police. He responded to the protests by criticizing Trump’s message saying, “If you serve poison for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a year and a half, somebody’s going to drink it and give it back.” Bill then continued with his usual campaign speech in which he outlined Hillary’s platform points and an optimistic view of the future. “You want to elect somebody President who believes everybody’s got a story. Everybody deserves human dignity. Everybody deserves a chance to live their dreams. We all do better when we work together,” he said. Videos from the events will be posted when/if available.

Chelsea Clinton spoke with supporters at an organizing event on the campus of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine. Chelsea outlined her mother’s plan for the United States and her focus on economic equality. She said that she understands the anger with the current political system, but that Hillary will fight for those who need a voice. “I’m really proud that she does sweat the details, even though her opponent criticizes her for being too prepared. Because if it’s your child or your family or the future of our planet those are (important) details, so I’m so proud of my mom and of her campaign and even more her life of work and advocacy, because this election is about our future but it’s ultimately about our values.” A video of Chelsea’s speech is below.

Tim Kaine, Bill Clinton on the Campaign Trial for Hillary

Tim Kaine returned to the campaign trail on Wednesday following his strong debate performance on Tuesday night. During his speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kaine claimed victory, but did address criticisms that he interrupted Mike Pence too many times joking that even his wife gave him a hard time about it. He did go after Pence for not defending his running mate Donald Trump saying, “Your running mate ought to be able to defend you.” Kaine continued with his speech talking about a number of Hillary’s key platform points including creating new jobs, raising the minimum wage, supporting labor unions, improving health care, supporting the middle class, and ensuring that everyone has an equal chance in America. Bill Clinton remained in Ohio where he wrapped up a multiple day bus tour of the state. This morning he was in Youngstown where he spoke about Hillary’s plans to create new jobs and help communities that have been hit hard by unemployment and a loss of manufacturing and mining jobs. He said that he understands voters’ anger saying, “Look, there’s a reason for the road rage today. People go 15 years without a raise, they’re mad.” He then outlined a number of of Hillary’s platform proposals that would help communities like Youngstown including investments in infrastructure and clean energy. Speaking at the local UAW hall, Bill also spoke about the importance of labor unions and Hillary’s continued support for them while Republicans like Trump and Pence try to stamp out unions. Bill then traveled to Canton where he continued to his focus on the economy and job creation. He said, “I think we’re on the verge of the greatest period of prosperity, discovery and advancement in the history of this country, if we do that right thing.” But, Bill warned, there are people like Trump who are more interested in helping those at the top of the income scale and ignore those in the middle and working classes. He said that in order to grow the economy, we need to tap into previously untapped resources. “We need more manufacturing loans, we need more small business loans and more small business startups, we need more investments in science and technology,” he said. Bill Clinton and Senators Sanders and Warren Campaign for Hillary

Today, Bill Clinton kicked off his bus tour in Ohio. His first event was a rally in Athens where he spoke to a crowd of supporters about how Hillary Clinton has offered answers during the campaign while her rival, Donald Trump, has only offered anger. “This is a time of resentment for everybody. We are making a terrible mistake spending our time biting each others’ heads off … We ought to be for Hillary Clinton and yourself.” Bill went on to speak about a number of Hillary’s platform points including her focus on the middle class and creating new jobs. Bill then spoke at a rally in Steubenville. During the event, Bill spoke about a number of Hillary’s key platform points and the importance of the 2016 election. Speaking at the Harding Middle School gymnasium, Bill addressed some protesters outside of the venue that were holding signs about coal country. He said, “I saw those signs outside. I just want to say, [Ms. Clinton] was the first and is now the only candidate to say we’ve got to do something about coal country. We’ve got to do something about these rural pockets and these inner cities that have been totally left out of this economic recovery. We’ve got to invest in these areas. You can’t leave anybody behind here. And that’s what this election is about. If we do this we’re going to rise together.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

In Minnesota, Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned for Hillary in Minneapolis. During the event, Sanders spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and ensuring that Trump is defeated saying, “Our job is to elect Hillary Clinton as president but to also understand that our job is not done just by electing Secretary Clinton. On the day after, we continue the movement. Our job under President Hillary Clinton is to see [the most progressive platform, the Democratic platform] is implemented.” Sanders also spoke about a number of those platform points including reducing the cost of higher education and the debt burden for those who have graduated from college. In the evening, Sanders held a rally in Duluth on the local campus of the University of Minnesota. He spoke about the importance of electing Hillary over Trump because she is supportive of a progressive agenda. Sanders spoke about a number of issues facing the country including affordable college education, helping the middle class, and addressing climate change. Senator Elizabeth Warren and Catherine Corteza Masto spoke at a rally in Las Vegas, Nevada. During her speech, Warren went after Trump for his comments about women and his rants on Twitter. She also attacked Nevada U.S. Senate candidate Joe Heck for supporting Trump and his rhetoric. “Trump calls women fat pigs and bimbos and tries to shame a former beauty pageant winner on Twitter at 3 o’clock in the morning and Joe Heck still sticks with him. If Joe Heck doesn’t have the backbone to stand up to Trump, I guarantee he doesn’t have the backbone to go to D.C. and help Nevada families.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Meanwhile, in San Francisco, California, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hillary for America. The event featured a conversation with Mark Cuban and Chris Sacca. Then, in Stockholm, Sweden, a fundraiser was held for American Citizens living in the region. The event included a conversation with Melanne Verveer, former Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, U.S. Department of State.

Bill Clinton Campaigns in Michigan

On Monday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton in Michigan. His first event was in Saginaw where he spoke about Hillary’s plans in detail saying, “We need a change to broadly shared prosperity. You have to have plans to do that.” Bill contrasted the plans of Hillary with those of Donald Trump saying that what we need a country are answers and not anger, empowerment over resentment, and bridges instead of walls. He argued that Hillary was the best and only candidate offering all three. A video from the event is below.

Bill then traveled to Flint where he spoke about inequality and unity. He said that Hillary is about more than just jobs and that her “Stronger Together” is more than a motto, it is a framework for the country. Bill detailed a number of Hillary’s platform points including her plans to create jobs, invest in the country’s infrastructure and clean energy, improve health care by expanding Medicare and Medicaid, and making college more affordable. He made it clear that Hillary is “the only person who’s got a clear, affordable, achievable economic strategy.” A video from his speech in Flint is below.

Kaine, Bill Clinton, Senator Warren Campaign for Hillary on Friday

On Friday, campaign events were held across on the country on behalf of Hillary Clinton and featured speeches from Tim Kaine, Bill Clinton, and Senator Elizabeth Warren. Kaine began in Birmingham, Alabama where he attended a fundraiser, toured the 16th Street Baptist Church, and spoke to the press about Donald Trump’s divisive rhetoric and the allegations that the Trump Foundation illegally gave campaign donations to the Florida state Attorney General. Kaine then returned to his home state of Virginia where he and his wife, Anne Holton, attended a rally in Norfolk. During his speech, Kaine spoke about his time in Virginia where he has served a Governor and is currently one of the state’s Senators. Kaine spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points and went after Donald Trump for his praise of dictators saying, “If you can’t tell the difference between leadership and dictatorship, you wouldn’t have passed a fifth-grade civics exam. You shouldn’t be a president of the United States. … Tyranny is not leadership. Persecution is not leadership.” A video from the event is below.

In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Bill campaigned on behalf of his wife and spoke about a number of Hillary’s platform points and criticized a number of proposals made by Trump. Bill spoke about the importance of this election, but said that can sympathize with the anger that many voters and Trump supporters are feeling. He warned, “Don’t substitute anger for answers. Don’t substitute resentment for responsibility. Remember empowerment comes from being stronger together. We can do it. You can do it. But Hillary, to do it, has to win Pennsylvania and that’s you.” Bill continued, “We need answers, not anger. And she [Hillary] is the only candidate offering any.” A video of Bill’s speech is below.

The final event of the day was a speech by Senator Warren who campaigned on behalf of Hillary in Philadelphia. Warren spoke to a crowd of supporters about the importance of defeating Trump and electing Hillary in November. She covered a number of Hillary’s proposals before delivering a series of one-liners attacking Trump. In her speech, Warren referred to Trump as “the large orange elephant in the room,” called the controversial Trump University “Scam University,” and went after his praise of Russian president Vladimir Putin. Hillary Clinton Attacks Trump’s Self-Centered Campaign

Hillary Clinton rallied a large crowd in Tampa, Florida late Friday afternoon. During the event, Clinton focused her attacks on the Republican National Convention and the acceptance speech given by nominee Donald Trump. Clinton slammed Trump for his “I alone can fix this” mentality saying that no president works alone. In fact, the Constitution ensures that a president does not act alone. She accused him of being overly negative saying, “Last night’s speech took it to a whole new level. He offered a lot of fear and anger. And resentment but no solutions about anything that he even talked about.” Clinton offered a counter message saying that during next weeks Democratic National Convention Americans will see an optimistic, inclusive vision for America. Bill Clinton Campaigns in New Mexico, California

On Thursday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf of Hillary in two states. He began in New Mexico where he spoke at a Get Out the Vote event at Picacho Middle School in Las Cruces. During his speech, Bill spoke about the importance of the 2016 election and a number of Hillary’s platform points. He stressed the importance of continuing the economic growth and said that includes making the economy work for everyone and not just those at the top. Bill then traveled to California where he spoke at a rally in Redding. During the event at Shasta College, Bill spoke about voter anger and how he understood the attitude toward the current political environment. But he said that Republican nominee Donald Trump is not the answer. He spoke about Hillary’s experience and her platform points and why she is the better choice for the country moving forward. He said the way America moves forward is by working together and realizing we get more accomplished that way. Bill said, “You gotta believe in a tomorrow economy and you gotta believe in cooperation, not conflict, and you can’t turn people away at the door because you don’t like their religion or their race or their whatever.” He concluded by asking for voters’ support in next week’s primary. Tennis champion Billie Jean King hosted a Discussion on Breaking Down Barriers in Paris, France. The event was for American citizens and was hosted by Forrest Alogna, Pamela Boulet, Belinda De Gaudemar, Hedieh Khakbaz Loubier, Marina Niforos, Elizabeth Pierson Sainty, Joe Smallhoover, Valerie Picard, Mindy Prugnaud, and Lawrence Yanovitch.

Bill Clinton Campaigns for Hillary in Ohio

On Saturday, Bill Clinton campaigned on behalf on Hillary Clinton at three events across Ohio. Rallying crowds before this Tuesday’s primary, Clinton flew in to Portsmouth where he stopped for coffee and visited with local residents and kids from the Autism Project of Southern Ohio. He then went to his first rally in Cincinnati where he focused on Hillary’s plans to help those in Ohio and across the country. He said that she is the best presidential candidate to raise wages and break down racial, social, and economic barriers. He also took a shot at the Republican race for president saying it was like watching a “sixth-grade playground fight.”

This afternoon, Bill attended a rally in Akron where he cautioned the crowd in regards to the recent violence at a number rallies held by Republican front-runner, Donald Trump. Clinton referenced a conversation he once had with Nelson Mandela to make his point that anger and violence is not the answer to our problems. Mandela famously forgave those who imprisoned him in South Africa, but even he admitted there was a time when he hated them. Clinton said that Mandela told him, “I realized they could take everything from me except my mind and my heart. Those things I would have to give away. And I decided not to give them away. And then he looked at me and said ‘neither should you’.”

Clinton’s final event of the day was a Get Out the Vote rally in Toledo.  During the event the at University of Toledo, Clinton was joined by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly. The focus of the conversation was gun violence and the need for strict background checks for all purchasers of firearms. Clinton said Hillary would stand up to the NRA and protect innocent victims of gun violence by ensuring that guns to do wind up in the wrong hands.
