Vice President Biden Campaigns in Florida on Eve of Election

On the eve of the election, Vice President Joe Biden returned to Florida where he spoke on the campus of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee. After being introduced by his wife, Jill, Biden spoke about the importance of voting before the end of the day tomorrow. He urged everyone to consider the future the country and the visions being outlined by Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Biden said that Clinton offers a platform that is far more optimistic and inclusive. He said that her plans are geared toward helping everyone and not just those at the top. Biden urged everyone to reject the divisive policies of Trump and vote for Clinton tomorrow. A video from the event is below.

Biden held his last solo campaign event for Clinton in St. Petersburg. During the event, Biden spoke about the vision Trump has for America and asked the audience to imagine living in that future. “We don’t have to make anything up; we just have to say what they want to push,” he said adding that it is doubtful that a Trump administration would continue Pell grants for college, repealing the Affordable Care Act would leave at least 20 million Americans without coverage, and his economic plans would ensure that those at the top prosper at the expense of the middle class. Biden then presented Clinton’s optimistic vision of the future before asking everyone to vote tomorrow. A video from the event is below.

Bill, Chelsea, and Others Attend Fundraisers

On Monday, Bill and Chelsea Clinton were on the campaign trail fundraising for Hillary’s campaign. Bill was in Florida where he attended a number of events on behalf of Hillary. She was originally scheduled to attend the events, but she cancelled to attend a number of campaign events across Nevada before this weekend’s caucus. In Florida, Bill attended a fundraiser at the Palm Beach home of Elaine and Gerald Schuster. Then, he attended a fundraiser held at Gary Nader Fine Art in Miami. Finally, in Boca Raton, he attended an event at the home of Helene and Roy Schwedelson.

While in Florida, Bill hosted one public event in Riviera Beach where he spoke about Clinton’s experience and qualifications for the presidency, but he also went after her rival Bernie Sanders (not by name) by saying that it was important for the Democratic Party to remain moderate and to not lean too far left. He cited the rift between the Republican Party and the more extreme Tea Party as an example that the Democrats do not want to follow. He also spoke about heath care, higher education, and immigration reform. A video of his speech is below.

Chelsea Clinton was also on the campaign trail on Monday making stops in Ohio and Pennsylvania. She began with morning event in Bexley, Ohio at the home of Susan Tomasky and Ron Ungvarsky. She then traveled to the Cleveland home of Judy Eigenfeld and Rick Maron. She wrapped up the evening with a fundraiser at the home of Kris and Robyn Jones
in Shavertown, Pennsylvania.

In Washington, DC, Senator Debbie Stabenow hosted a conversation on Capital Hill. The event is part of a series hosted by Hillary for America covering a number of platform topics. This evening’s topic was Agricultural policy.

Clinton Unveils Agricultural Agenda in Iowa

Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton returned to Ankeny, Iowa to discuss her plan to support rural, agricultural America. After being introduced by U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack at the Des Moines Area Community College, Clinton unveiled her plan that includes investments in rural areas including focusing on rural transportation, streamlining the process for community banks, investment in water and broadband infrastructure, and improving Agriculture Department grant programs. Other facets of the plan includes raising the production of agricultural products and making the product more profitable for farmers, promoting a use of clean energy and renewable energy sources, and expanding opportunities for those in rural communities by expanding Head Start, affordable education, and affordable healthcare.

Following the event, Clinton answered questions from reporters where she discussed her use of a private email server during her tenure as Secretary of State. She expressed regret and said that she believes in transparency. She said, “I know people have raised questions about my email use as secretary of state, and I understand why. I get it. So here’s what I want the American people to know: My use of personal email was allowed by the State Department. It clearly wasn’t the best choice. I should’ve used two emails: one personal, one for work. I take responsibility for that decision, and I want to be as transparent as possible, which is why I turned over 55,000 pages, why I’ve turned over my server, why I’ve agreed to — in fact, been asking to — and have finally gotten a date to testify before a congressional committee in October. I’m confident that this process will prove that I never sent, nor received, any email that was marked classified.
