Vice President Joe Biden campaigned on behalf of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine today in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Biden spoke about a number of Clinton’s platform points, but he spent a good amount of his time attacking Donald Trump. Following last night’s debate, Biden said that it was obvious Trump was in over his head. He criticized Trump for practically confirming that he paid no taxes. Trump said that made him “smart.” Biden said it makes him mad. “Tell that to your mothers and fathers who are breaking their neck to send you here, they’re paying taxes … It angers me, it angers me,” he said. He also attacked Trump for saying that the 2008 housing crash was “good business.” Biden asked, “What in the hell is he talking about?” Biden also spoke about the importance of voting urging everyone to register and vote on November 8. On the eve of the New York primary, Bill, Chelsea, and Hillary Clinton were canvassing the state for support before tomorrow’s primary. A list of Hillary’s favorite New York restaurants was published by Thrillist, and she attended a number of events in and around New York City. Hillary began by appearing on a morning radio show called “The Breakfast Club“. During the interview, Clinton spoke about a number of her key platform points and the importance of tomorrow’s primary in New York. She also was asked to name something that she always carry with her. Her answer was “hot sauce.” Watch a video of the full interview HERE to find out why.
Hillary then hosted a Get Out the Vote rally at the Hilton in Manhattan. During her speech, she spoke about her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders and his record on gun control. He voted for a 2005 bill that made gun manufacturers immune from lawsuits if their product was used illegally. She continued, “There are many powerful lobbyists in Washington, as I said in the debate the other night in Brooklyn. I said, look, Senator Sanders talks a lot about the greed and recklessness of Wall Street. But what about the greed and recklessness of the gun manufacturers?” Hillary went on to explain the importance of the 2016 election and asked for voters’ support tomorrow. Tonight, Hillary will appear on CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Bill, meanwhile, was campaigning on Hillary’s behalf in Buffalo and Rochester. In Buffalo, Bill began by kicking off a phone bank at Hilary’s headquarters. He then made several stops in town visiting St. John Towers senior facility, Spot Coffee, and he had lunch at Alton’s restaurant in Cheektowaga. In Rochester, Bill was joined by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and spoke to a crowd of supporters. He spoke briefly about a number of Hillary’s platform points and asked for their vote in tomorrow’s primary. Chelsea has spent the last two days campaigning on behalf of her mother at smaller events across the state. Yesterday, Chelsea spoke at Get Out the Vote events in Poughkeepsie and Binghamton. At both events, she spoke about her mother’s experience and plans as president. She stressed the importance of the election saying that it is the “most important” election of her lifetime. Chelsea even took time to answer questions from those in attendance.
Today, Chelsea spoke with supporters at the Women’s Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls. She spoke about her mom’s experience saying, “I think when you look at who has a real record of being able to deliver progress and be able to make change, my mom really stands out.” She spoke about similar topics at her other stops in upstate New York. Chelsea also spoke with supporters at Coltivare in Ithaca. In Rome, Chelsea visited a local daycare center. Speaking at the Little Learners On Campus Child Care Center, she spoke about the importance of early childhood education and Hillary’s plan to expand it nationwide.
The Clintons weren’t the only ones campaigning on behalf of Hillary today. In New York, Carole King, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and Cecile Richards all joined Hillary and held events on their own. In Chicago, Illinois, David Plouffe, Campaign Manager for President Barack Obama in 2008, attended a fundraiser that was hosted by Kevin Conlon, Katelynd Duncan, Abby Erwin, Adam Hitchcock, Reyhad Kazmi, Samir Mayekar, Kevin Morris, Marilynn Rubio, Jon Samuels, Abigail Schmitz, and Joshua Schwartz.

On Thursday, Hillary Rodham Clinton unveiled her plan to regulate Wall Street and protect Americans. In an op-ed on Bloomberg she explained her plan and her reasoning for a number of its points. She then released details of the plan on The Briefing. The plan is very detailed and it would be impossible to insert the entire plan into this post. We have summarized the main points below:
Defend and preserve Dodd-Frank
Veto any legislation that attempts to weaken the law
Fight Republican attempts to repeal it
Reduce dangerous risks in the financial system
Impose a “risk fee” on the liabilities with of banks with more than $50 billion in assets
Reorganize, downsize, or break apart firms that are too large and too risky
Increase oversight of the “shadow banking” system to reduce risk
Introduce high-frequency trading tax for the stock markets
Impose compensation rules on senior management of banking institutions that suffer losses that threaten its financial health
Strengthen the Vlocker Rule (which prohibits banks from making risky or speculative trading bets with taxpayer-backed money)
Increase transparency in the banking system
Introduce international cooperation to curb excessive risk-taking
Increase the financial system’s security against cyber attacks
Hold individuals and corporations responsible when they break the law or put the system at risk
Ensure individual accountability when prosecuting wrongdoing
Ensure that fines affect the bonuses of executives, supervisors, and employees with misconduct takes place on their watch
Prohibit individuals in financial services from working in the industry after being convicted of egregious crimes
Extend the statute of limitations for financial fraud
Strongly prosecute insider traders
Create guidelines for that ensure transparency and accountability
Require that corporations admit to wrongdoing as a condition of settlement agreements
Increase transparency of corporate settlements
Restrict SEC waivers for repeat offenders
Give prosecutors the resources to punish law-breakers
Strengthen the SEC and CFTC
Increase maximum penalties for SEC and CFTC actions
Reward whistleblowers for bringing illegal activities to attention of authorities
Ensure that the financial systems serves investors and consumers, not just itself
Make sure that Wall Street helps Main Street grow and prosper
Protect all Americans from unfair and deceptive practices that put their earned income at risk
Clinton’s plan protects hard working Americans while ensuring that those who threaten the economy and financial system as a whole are held accountable. Just as important, we have to encourage Wall Street to live up to its proper role in our economy — helping Main Street grow and prosper. With strong rules of the road and smart incentives, the financial industry can help more young families buy that first home, make it possible for entrepreneurs to create new small businesses and support hardworking Americans saving for retirement. My plan will help us unlock that potential. We’ll create good-paying jobs, raise incomes and help families afford a middle-class life, with less speculation and more growth — growth that’s strong, fair and long-term. That’s what I’m fighting for in my campaign, and that’s what I’ll do as president.”

Clinton Attends a Private Fundraiser in Park City, Utah
On Monday, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended three private fundraisers in the San Francisco area. The first fundraiser was held at the Saratoga home of Talat and Kamil Hasan. Hasan is a partner at Granite Hill Capital Partners. The second fundraiser was held at the home of Tracey Turner, the founder of MicroPlace. She then attended a fundraiser hosted by Joni Binder and Robert Shwarts. Binder and Shwarts were major Clinton backers in 2008.
Finally, on Tuesday, she completed her trip by attending a breakfast event hosted by Michael and Xochi Birch, founders of Bebo (which they later sold to AOL). Silicon Valley is a major fundraising area for Clinton and all the presidential candidates. As with all private event, the fundraisers were closed to the press.
Today, Hillary Rodham Clinton was interviewed by David Muir and portions of his interview with her aired on World News Tonight. In the interview, Clinton apologized for using a private email server as Secretary of State and acknowledged that she could have done a better job of explaining herself when the story came to light earlier this year. Muir then asked Clinton about her rival Donald Trump and why is running for president again after losing the Democratic nomination in 2008.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to announce her 2016 Presidential campaign this Sunday with an online video. Clinton announced her plans in a similar way when she ran in 2008. She is expected to release a video announcing her intentions while she travels to Iowa for her first campaign stops. After Iowa, Clinton is expected to take her message to New Hampshire.
Today, Simon & Schuster announced the title of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s upcoming memoir. The book will be titled Hard Choices and will focus on her time as the 67th Secretary of State.
