Clinton Speaks about Diversity in Silicon Valley

Hillary Clinton returned to political form on Tuesday when she spoke at the Professional Business Women of California Conference in San Francisco, California. Clinton spoke to a crowd of over 3,500 before sitting down for a conversation with Susie Tompkins Buell. During her speech, Clinton spoke about the need for all Americans to resist the rhetoric of President Donald Trump and his administration. She also urged everyone to continue to fight against the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and contact Congress. She said, “Resist, insist, persist, enlist.”

The majority of her speech focused on diversity in the workplace and the need for equal pay for women and paid family leave. She urged the business leaders in the room, most of them from Silicon Valley, to lead the way forward in granting employees paid family leave and maternity leave. Clinton criticized the Trump administration and Congress for attempting to roll back health care coverage for women. She said that when the Republican health bill failed last week it “was a victory for all Americans.” But Clinton warned “the other side never quits. Soon or later they’ll try again, and we will need to fight back twice as hard.” Watch a video from the event below.

Hillary Clinton Speaks at Scranton St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

On Friday, Hillary Clinton spoke at the Society of Irish Women’s dinner in Scranton, Pennsylvania. She spoke to the group for nearly twenty minutes about a number of topics including her local connections. Her grandfather worked in a Scranton lace mill for more than 50 years. She said that it was her father who left the area for Chicago, where she grew up. Clinton wrapped up her speech by hinting that she may be planning a political comeback soon. “I’m like a lot of my friends right now. I have a hard time watching the news, I’ll confess. Hillary Clinton Speaks at Girls, Inc. Luncheon

On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton accepted an award from Girls, Inc. during a luncheon in New York. During the event, Clinton spoke about the importance of advancing equal rights for women and encouraged young women to get involved in politics. She warned that while things can be discouraging at times, its important to focus on the future. Clinton said, “Our work is far from over. In big ways and small, the unfinished business of the 21st century is the full equality of women. Hillary Clinton Speaks at Events on the Campuses of Wellesley and Harvard

Late this past week, Hillary Clinton spoke with audiences at two major New England Colleges. First, on Thursday evening, Clinton spoke at a private, student and faculty only event on the campus of Wellesley College. As Clinton’s Alma Mater, the event focused on Clinton’s time at the school and her political career. Clinton spoke briefly and took questions from the audience. According to sources inside the room, Clinton was asked by one audience member about what she would have changed about her campaign. She responded simply, “I’d win.” Clinton graduated from Wellesley College in 1969 and is scheduled to give this year’s commencement address in May.

On Friday, Clinton took part in a series of “Fireside Chats” on the campus of Harvard University. Clinton’s appearance was part of the “American Secretaries of State Project: Diplomacy, Negotiation, and Statecraft” series sponsored by the Kennedy School, Law School, and Business School. She met with undergraduate members of the IOP’s Student Advisory Committee and a few lucky residents of Kirkland House. Clinton is the seventh former Secretary of State to take part in the series. Like the event at Wellesley College, it was closed to the public and press.

Hillary Clinton Rallies Democrats via Video

As the Democratic Party builds its platform following the 2016 election cycle and selects a new leader, Hillary Clinton spoke via video at the party’s gathering in Atlanta. In the video, Clinton calls on Democrats to continue fighting the Republican agenda and the policies proposed by President Donald Trump. She said that she is proud of the platform that the party assembled for the 2016 election cycle and urged everyone to continue to resist. “Let resistance plus persistence equal progress for our party and our country,” she said. Clinton Honors Oscar de la Renta at USPS Event

On Thursday, Hillary Clinton spoke at an event honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta. The United States Postal Service unveiled a new set of stamps honoring de la Renta and his work. Speaking at Grand Central Terminal, Clinton spoke about her friendship with de la Renta and his wife and praised his contribution to the world of fashion. She said, “Oscar de la Renta was an immigrant. And aren’t we proud and grateful that he was?” Others attending the event included Diane von Furstenberg, Valentino Garavani, Anna Wintour, and Michael Bloomberg. Hillary Clinton Video Featured at MAKERS Conference

Hillary Clinton appeared on video today at the MAKERS Conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. In the video, Clinton praised the women who marched across the country and world in support of women’s rights. She said, “Despite all the challenges we face, I remain convinced that YES, the future is female.” Clinton remained optimistic in her message adding, “Remember, you are the heroes and history makers, the glass ceiling breakers of the future. Hillary Clinton to Release New Book, Speak at Alma Mater

Hillary Clinton is returning to public spotlight. She has attended a few events since she lost the presidential race in November, but today several upcoming events were announced. The biggest announcement was from publisher Simon & Schuster who will publish a collection of personal essays by Clinton this fall. The book is described to include a number of her favorite quotes to “tell stories from her life, up to and including her experiences in the 2016 presidential campaign.” Simon & Schuster also announced a children’s book version of Clinton’s book, It Takes a Village, will be released in September. The new edition will feature illustrations by Marla Frazee and all proceeds will be donated to charity.

It was also announced that she will be returning to the speech circuit with several events planned in the coming months. The most notable will be a commencement address at Wellesley College, her alma mater. Clinton gained notoriety for becoming the first student speaker at her own commencement in 1969. Other speeches on tap for Clinton include an event at the United States Postal Service honoring fashion designer Oscar de la Renta, a speech organized by Vital Voices on International Women’s Day, and a speech at a New York LGBT Community Center. Hillary Clinton Speaks at the Opening of State Department Pavilion

Hillary Clinton returned to Washington, DC on Tuesday for the opening of a new exhibition area in the State Department’s museum. Named in her honor, The Hillary Clinton Pavilion marks the completion of another section of the U.S. Diplomacy Center. Clinton was joined at the event by Secretary of State John Kerry and former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell. Clinton spoke briefly about the important work of the museum and its exciting future saying, “I’m excited about the historic artifacts and the cutting-edge exhibits that will be here to teach and inspire future generations about the work of our country’s diplomats. Clinton Speaks at Event Honoring Senator Harry Reid

Hillary Clinton returned to Washington, DC to attend an event honoring retiring Nevada Senator Harry Reid. A number of people spoke at the event including Clinton. During her speech, Clinton spoke about Reid’s career in the Senate. She also spoke about the dangers of fake news following a shooting that took place following a fake news story. She said, “It’s now clear that so-called fake news can have real-world consequences. This isn’t about politics or partisanship.
