Clinton Wins PA, DE, MD, CT Primaries

Hillary Clinton has won the Democratic primaries in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Connecticut. Bernie Sanders won the Rhode Island contest. It was an important night for Clinton as she gained a number of important delegates to get her closer to the Democratic nomination. Numbers will be updated tomorrow once the full results are reported.

Clinton held a victory rally in Philadelphia where she thanked the volunteers and voters that made tonight’s victories possible. During her speech, Clinton focused more on the general election and unifying the Democratic party to defeat the Republicans in November. She spoke about a number of people that she has met throughout the campaign and how thier personal stories drive her to build a country where everyone rises together and not just those at the top. She said, “We will unify our party to win this election and build an America where we can all rise together – an America where we lift each other up instead of tearing each other down.” A video of her speech is below.

Hillary and Bill Clinton Campaign in Indiana

On Tuesday while five states in the Northeast voted, Hillary Clinton turned her focus to Indiana which holds their primary on May 3. She focused on manufacturing today stopping at two local manufacturers. Hillary began in Hammond where she toured and spoke to employees at Munster Steel Co. She then traveled to employees at AM General in Mishawaka. At both stops, Hillary touted her “Make it in America” manufacturing plan and her focus on keeping jobs in America. She praised AM General for their steel work for German car company Mercedes-Benz saying, “You have Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a German company’s vehicles, being made here in this great American plant and being exported to China. So that proves if we are smart and we are determined, we can out-work and out-compete anybody anywhere, and that is my goal.” A video of Hillary’s speech in Hammond is below.

Bill Clinton also made a stop in Indiana today and held an organizing event in Indianapolis. Speaking for nearly forty minutes, Bill covered a number of Hillary’s platform topics and criticized her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders for his plans which he called unrealistic. Bill also spoke about Hillary’s manufacturing plan and rewarding companies that keep their plants in United States. Other topics Bill covered included the economy, education, and labor unions. Clinton Participates in MSNBC Town Hall

On Monday evening, Hillary Clinton took part in a town hall event hosted by MSNBC. Moderated by Rachel Maddow, the town hall event featured an interview with Clinton before questions were fielded from the audience. Clinton spoke about a number of topics including gun control, the minimum wage, the economy, and her primary battle with Bernie Sanders. She has begun to focus on the general election and unifying the Democratic party saying, “My difference is not with Sen. Sanders, but Republicans who don’t want to raise [wages and] refuse to acknowledge the terrible struggles people are facing.” A video from the town hall is below.
